I arrived and watched the mechanic work. The mechanic walked around the car for 30 minutes and smoked, after that he took a sandwich and ate right under the hood. And he was the only mechanic who did anything in this shop.

Got my passenger side tire replaced, I guess I should’ve checked to make sure they did their job correctly before getting on the highway, the valve was pushed in and letting air out. when I called they didn’t seem to care that my tire could’ve blown out on the highway because of their negligence.

I had brand new brakes and rotors done 3 months ago and they are still squealing. I took it back still happening but asked if everything was ok and reply was yes. Also got my shocks done and my car still feels and sounds the same. I will never spend money there again.

Watch your invoices and pricing. They will try and rip you off if you do not watch them. I do not know how Mike T got in the General Manager position with that horrible customer service skills that he has. Instead of him seeing that there was an issue and let’s fix it right now he wanted to be combative and argumentative. I do not recommend this Pep Boys or the Merritt Island location.

I have been a loyal customer of Pep Boys for years, which makes this experience even more frustrating. On 12/8/25, I paid over $300 for two front tires and an oil change. When I picked up my car, there was a very strong oil smell inside. Shortly after driving, my car alerted “low oil” and felt off. I returned immediately. I was later told the issue was caused by spilled oil that was not cleaned properly. I specifically asked whether any damage occurred and was told no. While I understand mistakes happen, this should not have occurred in the first place. On 2/25/26, I returned for a new battery ($268) and to have a dashboard code cleared. I waited for hours, paid, and left — only to realize the dashboard warning was not even cleared. I had to turn around and go back again. The next morning at 7am, my battery light began flashing. I had just been there the day before. While driving to work, my car displayed “faulty battery,” my steering shut off, and I was instructed to pull over immediately. I had to call a tow truck, which cost me $37, and I was stranded until 11am. At the time of writing this, I had already missed 5 hours of work and was still at Pep Boys waiting for the issue to be resolved. By the end of the day, I missed a total of 10 hours of work servicing my vehicle here. I was then told my alternator had gone out as well. I asked whether there were any warnings or issues noted during the diagnostic the day before when my battery was replaced, and I was told no. I was quoted $1,139 for a replacement. After I refused, the price was suddenly lowered to $996 — which still seemed excessive. I checked my dealership’s website and saw alternators listed for under $300. Even accounting for labor, the quoted price felt unreasonable. I declined the service and had my vehicle repaired elsewhere. I felt completely taken advantage of. This is unacceptable. Multiple visits, repeated mistakes, and a serious safety issue that left me stranded. I have lost wages, paid additional out-of-pocket costs, and experienced significant stress due to workmanship and pricing practices that should have been handled properly the first time. I trusted this company with my vehicle, and they failed to provide reliable, transparent, and safe service.
