On Aug 9, 2019, I called to schedule an appointment, but space was available so I drove there and had my car in the garage within 15 minutes (so far so good). Said the oil change would be about $50 and take an hour, and I was indeed notified to come pickup at 59 minutes sharp (great). I was charged $50 total and he also told me that the front brake pads would need to be replaced soon, giving me a quote of $450. Today (Jan 15, 2020), I got my oil changed at a different mechanic for $37. Said mechanic also replaced the quoted brake pads for $128. TL;DR -- Dude almost finessed me of $322 on the brake pads alone!

This is the kind of service we're all looking for! After calling a over a dozen local repair shops I got to speak with Owen who was more patient, transparent, and helpful then all the other shops were combined. He made me feel much more aware and empowered about the choices I needed to make for my car. For that, I'll definitely be making trips from Bellevue to get my car serviced here in the near future. Thank you!

I found Rick's Chevron through the Certified Auto Warranty program - my clutch was acting up and the shop that installed it last year is down in California. Since it was still under warranty, the shop put me in contact with their nation wide program - Certified Auto - and they told me I can get it repaired through Rick's Chevron. I took my Subaru into Rick's and told them the issues I was having with it - rumbling in first gear without it accelerating properly, and a grinding noise at highway speeds - and they explained they needed to confirm it was a clutch issue before opening a claim through the warranty program. After an hour or two I got a call from them, they were having trouble reproducing the issues I described, and I let them know it's most noticeable when the car is warmed up and on a hill. Another hour later they called me back sounding like they were still unable to reproduce the issue I was talking about, couldn't rule out a clutch issue, but 'felt like it probably wasn't a clutch issue'. They wouldn't let me ride along with a mechanic to reproduce the issue myself, charged me 72$ plus tax for a 'diagnosis' that didn't rule out a clutch issue (which, if it was a clutch issue, would have been covered under warranty), and to top it off, when I came to pick up my car, they had left the windows down and the car unlocked with no one at the shop anymore! I've since taken my car to another shop recommended through the warranty program, who have confirmed it to be a clutch issue! The shop that did the original repair was appalled to hear they charged me for a NON diagnosis that should have been covered anyways. I believe they just didn't want to deal with the warranty process. I will be calling the Certified Auto 1-800 number to let them know what happened.

I have been taking my cars to Ricks Chevron for over seven years. They are usually able to work on my car the same day. I have had engine repairs, exhaust, oil changes, new tires and check engine diagnostics. Their work work has always been high quality and affordable.

My family has used Ricks auto repair forever. They recently helped when my catalytic converter was stolen. They got me in as soon as possible, and fixed my car quickly. They were so kind, and so helpful. I don't know what I would have done without their help.

Have been using Ricks more than 10 years. Took car in for oil change today. Mechanic called me mid day, said he needed a couple hours to charge the battery. That it tested low. I told him it was a new battery, less than a year old. Picked up car later. He had billed me $22.50 to charge the battery. When he called me he did NOT say he would bill me to charge the battery. When I questioned the charge he claimed that the battery was dead and he had to jump start the car. I do not believe him. I had developed a level of trust with this shop which has serviced all my cars for years. That trust is now lost.

My wife and I have been going to Ricks for our gas and car service needs for over 15 years. Within that time they have serviced our Jeep Wrangler, Honda Element, and Toyota 4 Runner, as well as our youngest sons Ford Fusion. We have never been gouged in pricing, or quoted for unnecessary repairs. Plus Ricks provides an auto assessment of items that should be serviced or repaired, but provide go above and beyond by providing an approximate timeline of when you should have these repairs completed by.. or else. Mike and the staff at Ricks are the best. Maple Leaf for life, Ricks for life.

I have been a loyal customer for 17 years but only recently started taking my BMW to Rick's for repairs. I've been to other German car specialists in the area but never felt like I was dealing with honest people. When Rick's announced they had a European car specialist on duty I decided to give it a try. It has been a great experience, Rob is the kindest and most honest mechanic I've found yet. He tells me exactly what is going on, what needs to be done and what can wait a while longer, never tries to talk me into doing more than necessary. The price quotes and time quotes are always right on. You'll be doing yourself a favor by taking your European car here for maintenance. Thanks Rob, you're the Best !

I’m new to the area and haven’t had the opportunity to find a mechanic until an unfortunate event happened with my engine. I brought my car to Rick’s on a Saturday and they took me right away and did excellent work on my car. I rely on my car for work so it was back up and running within a few short hours so I could go back to work. They even gave my car a little extra TLC and cleaned it up for me which was incredibly nice of them. Thank you to the people at Rick’s for going above and beyond. I will be using them for all my car issues and needs in the future.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord and Mike and Rick's Chevron keep my car safe and on the road. I have always been able to get in within a day. I appreciate going to a neighborhood business I trust and the convenience of being able to walk home after dropping the car off and being able to pick up until late through the gas station.

I've owed this shop a review for a few years now, and I am not one to write reviews. Time and again I have received honest advice, good-quality workmanship, and professional service. As a young woman, I have frequently found myself patronized by the (mostly male) auto industry, even to the point of having mechanics or car salesmen try to take advantage by upselling or being dishonest. Not so with the team at Rick's. They have talked straight, been honest about unknowns, and charged fairly. I can consistently rely on them for quality service and I will continue to be a regular there.

We have going to Rick’s Chevron on and off for years. We usually dealer service our under-warranty cars as a matter of course and use independent shops when we have non-warranty vehicles. Rick’s is straightforward to deal with, has fair pricing and is the quintessential corner gas station garage. The fact that we can pick our car up after the garage closes from the gas station staff is a huge help as well. Clear explanations , not a lot of fluff or hard sell and local makes this place a great choice.

I did not know what to expect when I arrived at Ricks Chevron for my oil change. I was pleasingly surprised by the GREAT customer service, the detail, and the reassurance I felt that I was going to receive the upmost service to my car!! I recently moved to this area and trying to find a mechanic was not top on my list. I do believe that I have found someone I can expect to be open and honest, and I can trust with future repairs, I forgot the young mans name that assisted me today, but I want to thank you for making my day.

Terrible experience here. I needed my high and low bulbs replaced on my Honda and brought it in for them to do it. I supplied the bulbs and they still charged me nearly $120. For swapping out some bulbs. When I asked about the high price, they trotted Wayne out and all he could say is - I charged what the book told me to charge. Claimed it took him 40 minutes. They also claimed that I needed to have my break fluid drained, I suspect they are just trying to drum up more business. Well, that is what I get for trying someone new. Next time I will stick with my regular mechanic or just watch a youtube video to do this myself. So one star for the high price and generally not caring about the customer experience at all. I have no idea why they have such a high rating here, they were pretty bad. If I could give negative stars, I would.

I wanted to share a great story about this honest small business, doing great work. They fixed a leak in my beloved, tough-as-nails, 17-year-old Jeep Wrangler. Their charge: $23.46. This story begins last week, when I brought my Wrangler to the dealership for a factory recall part replacement, and the dealership looked the Jeep over and found this leak among other things they said I needed to fix immediately, at a cost of $3500 plus tax. I drove it from the dealership over to my local mechanic shop, been in business more years than I've been alive, thinking -- he's a local small business guy just doing what he (and apparently his dad?) loves every day. How hard can it be to work on a Jeep? Let's see what he says to all the things the dealership found. After testing the things the dealership said was broken on my Jeep he found $150 total -- after tax -- worth of things to fix. I came home that night and drove it around and there was still a leak that night, so I came back in yesterday saying hey, something didn't go right can you take another look. He says yeah, I figured out that all the tests still say you have no leak, but your radiator cap is broken. This means when you drive it it heats up and the antifreeze spills out from the cap. Your price today is $23.46, for the radiator cap. No charge for the labor because they missed that the cap had a hairline fracture when they brought the Jeep in last week. The pressure testing machines don't test for the CAP, only for the lines, radiator, etc. Have you ever had a bill that low from ANY mechanic? Seriously. Here in Seattle where every price is about 40% higher than the rest of the country (except California), it seems. How refreshing to stumble across an honest business, doing honest work and treating their customers like family. Have hope! Honest small businesses still do exist! And they need you and believe me, you don't want them to go away! Reward them for their honest, their passion for what they do, and for the value you will receive from working with them

Called this shop for a bad alternator and they were able to get me in really fast. Brought the car in, they diagnosed it just as fast and were super transparent about the repair and the cost. Cost was the fair and expected price for the kind of repair done (alternator/tensioner + a blown out low headlight). Unfortunately, and unrelated to the work they had done on it, I had to bring the car back in almost immediately for an issue with the car idling. They were able to figure out the issue and send me back on my way without any additional cost. Michael and Wayne did an excellent job and were super friendly and helpful the entire time. Would go back any time, thanks guys.

I've been going to Rick's for four years now. They always take good car of my car and I trust them to let me know what services are truly needed, and when. They've gone above and beyond every time I've needed help. The service here is incredible and the team is equally kind, professional, timely, and dedicated. Thank you to Rick, Mike, and Lynn for being friendly neighbors and impeccable professionals every day! I feel lucky to be able to go to your shop.

I know there is a great mechanic here but definitely your typical shady ones. I got a typical nail patch for $25 a few months ago and have kept coming back because I trusted them. I went today for a nail patch again, nothing out of the ordinary and a guy I’ve never met charged me $44 AFTER he did it. I have my old receipt but the dude just wrote me off. $44 for a nail patch is insane. I’d recommend Chuck’s auto right up the street instead.

I was having a low tire light come on, so I stopped by this place as it said auto repair. There was a man sitting there with the garage door open so I thought I would ask for help. The man greeted we with a rather rude "what do you want". Not exactly an inviting hello but I explained about the low tire and was concerned. He had he does not deal with low tires or check tire pressure and said to use the air pump around back. This is the first auto repair shop that has ever turned me down flat on helping with a flat tire. I drove on to the Medina Chevron who promptly help me.

They charged me $170 to do a diagnostic that O’Reilly’s will do for free, and spent most of their time trying to talk me into an unrelated and unnecessary transmission repair. My old review was 5 stars and applauded their trustworthy nature… things have changed. Not an asset to the community at all anymore.
