I highly recommend Rick's mobile mechanic. Hes very knowledgeable. Knows his stuff. Reasonable on pricing and all hands down is a down to earth person you can trust in your needs. I've had him do multiple jobs on my vehicle. Always was done in a timely manner. Done right. If you need any mechanic work done to your vehicle hes most definitely the person to go to.

Was stuck in Vancouver for 6 days while on a road trip with a broken shifter cable. All garages in the area were booked out almost 2 weeks and would not make any special exceptions due to my situation to get me in sooner. Called Rick and he showed up at 8am the next morning on time and was able to get my new cable installed. Was a total lifesaver and car drove flawless across country back to New Hampshire. Would recommend Rick to anybody

Commincation, timing, work terrible. He said he could replace the water pump and oil cooler on my 09 jetta. It was a 2 week process that was still never finished. Had another vw mechanic look over it pointed out many errors that were done. Hoses not clamped, critical fasteners not done, used rtv sealant on all the parts. Took my oil filter off and on several times. The car ran worse after the new parts were installed. After promising me he'd come back and fix everything I was ghosted after giving him 400 dollars cash, plus he said him and family were going thru some tough times so I gave him an old phone, about 100 dollars with of steaks, a bunch of clothes and shoes for his kids etc. Then I couldn't even get a text back. I would not recommend Rick at all. I feel very ripped off. If he didn't know what he was doing he could of easily said so before starting the job that I could of have done at a shop for 700 bucks. Go me for trying to save a few hundred and trying to help a local family owned company.

I contacted Rick two months ago for a shifter cable that came loose. He kept saying he'd be out the next day, three weeks later his employee arrived. He put some zip ties in place, charged me 100 bucks (was supposed to return with the part and 15 change) but kept jerking me around for a couple of weeks. I finally called Rick, left a message, he texted me and said he'd make it right. I sent him pics and detailed the part I needed, two weeks later nothing is done. If you have a large job, maybe they are decent mechanics, I wouldn't know. If you have a smaller job you need done quickly, DO NOT CALL THESE GUYS. EDIT: Rick made it good after seeing this and told me his employee (Skyler) was no longer with him due to similar instances.

Whoever said American's aren't nice has definitely never met Rick. My truck broke down while traveling through the area on a road trip. Ran into Rick in a store and he offered to come help. He spent three hours with us in the rain until he was able to diagnose the issue. He jumped the truck and told us which things we needed to get from the store when it opened in the morning. He also offered for us to come to his house to make food, since it was late. The next day we realized we had more issues and called Rick again. He canceled his plans for the day to get our truck working well. It took most of the day. He had us back on the road by the afternoon and sent us with extra bits and pieces in case we had any issues later in the trip. He even checked up a few days later to make sure everything was still running smoothly, and sent more diagrams and information so we could fix it ourselves next time. He also tried to help a stray dog that same day. From my experience Rick definitely knows what hes talking about, offers a great service, and truly cares about helping others.

Rick responded promptly to a voicemail I left on a Sunday evening. He arrived within an hour after his initial response, having already picked up the needed parts. He was friendly and courteous as he tested then replaced my headlights, and was up-front about pricing. I was leaving town to return home the next day, so I really appreciated the quick turnaround. Rick is a gem of a person. I came to Vancouver for a work trip, and suddenly my driver side wheel is grinding and squealing while I'm driving. I assumed it was a rock, but I couldn't get it to budge and wasn't sure at that point if it was really a rock or a bigger issue. I'm 5 hours from home, by myself, and due to be at work in less than 12 hours. Rick came to the hotel, took apart the wheel, and was able to diagnose the issue. He's affordable, kind, and saved me in a really stressful situation. 100 stars!

PLEASE READ THE OTHER ONE STAR REVIEWS BEFORE WORKING WITH THIS GUY. They all tell the same story, a guy who is so unprofessional he can't show up on time, can't keep his word on getting the job done, commits to things he admits he doesn't understand and has to research and will take a new job before he's finished yours. He said he'd get my car working when the water pump went out. When he changed it, he didn't set the timing belt right and my car is still boiling over. He keeps promising to cone check it and make it right but ALWAYS flakes out, saying "I have new jobs". He's so unprofessional he can't finish a job and this pattern has gone on for years if you check the reviews. Now i have to hire an actual mechanic to fix my car, pay them out and take this guy to court and the BBB to get ky money back because he doesn't keep his word. Don't do business with this guy, he never cones through

Updated Review – 3 Stars June 25 I previously had a negative experience with Rick’s Mobile Mechanic due to a lack of communication and an issue with the service performed. After several failed attempts to reach him, I was finally able to contact Rick using an unblocked phone number. To his credit, once we spoke, he apologized for the breakdown in communication and explained there were extenuating circumstances. Rick refunded the amount I requested for the corrective work I had to do on my own. I respect that once contact was made, he took responsibility and made things right. That level of accountability matters. Because he addressed the issue and followed through with a fair resolution, I’m adjusting my original review from one star to three. I believe that with any service-based business, both the customer and the provider share responsibility—customers should do their due diligence, and providers should remain consistent and communicative. This updated review reflects a calm and mutual resolution. I appreciate Rick’s willingness to make it right. zero stars, I would—solely because of Rick’s complete lack of integrity. He came out to fix my truck’s fuel pump. After the repair, I went to fill up the tank and gas immediately started spilling onto the ground. Come to find out, he never reattached the fuel filler line to the gas tank. A careless and dangerous oversight. I called Rick immediately—he said he’d come back out to fix it. That was over two weeks ago. I’ve called him several times since, and he’s been dodging my calls ever since. No follow-up, no accountability, no professionalism. I ended up having to fix his mistake myself. If you have the misfortune of working with him, make sure you use a payment method that you can dispute with your bank—because once he has your money, don’t count on hearing from him again. Stay far away. Find someone who actually stands behind their work. Update June 19: Rick responded to this review disappointed I left a one star review. Still no accountability taken, Apologies given. Let’s see what Rick said Rick: Thanks for the bad review. Crazy you want to put down someone. Especially coming from someone who teaches the word. Seems fake to me. God bless. Me: So you respond to me now after I called several times and left voicemails needed your help. I'm happy to take it down if we can have a conversation about what happened. How come a Bad review was the only reason you responded I had to do the repair myself because you did not get back to me. I had visitations to do. I would've expected you to take more care for someone who does teach the word. And the fact that now you respond, shows me you do in fact, lock integrity. Reconciliation as possible but first you got acknowledge you made a mistake by not getting back to me after 10 days . the day I called you and you answered you said you would come the next day and you never came.

I found myself suddenly in need of an emergency mechanic – here I am, out of town in Portland, OR, and my oil pan is busted. If only someone could come right here, on Memorial Day weekend, and fix it for me so I can go home(yeah right)! He contacted me back, and said he could help. Not only that, but he comes to where you are(no need to have it towed to a shop)! It wasn't an easy fix, but Rick uses all means at his disposal. When it seemed he wasn't going to be able to fix it over the weekend, he prepared to tow it for us. Then, with it on the tow dolly he realized what he could do differently, and fixed it. There's still a couple things I need my mechanic to do for it to be completely repaired, but Rick & his team took care of me & my son, did locate a new oil pan, put it on, and got it running. I was able to drive it over 200 miles home instead of having it towed. An experience for my son, and my wife and I are very grateful! Rick is an amazing person, keeping his word, and his way is to think of a way to get it done, and do it. If you've ever had a mechanic friend help you by working on your car, it's like that. He drove us to a hotel when we had to stay a night, and he is intentional to be affordable. A man with integrity, and he applies that to his business. If you are on the road in NW Oregon or SW Washington state and have vehicle troubles, give Rick a call!

Rick was very unprofessional, from the time of the appointment (he forgot his jack!) Till the late time he finished replacing two struts, stay away from him, my car runs worse than it did before he touched it. Said he would come back and fix his damage and he blocked me off his phone looking at other reviews this seems to be a practice with him I had extra money for him but he got paid more than he was worth Good Riddance to him WATCH OUT FOR HIS SHODDY WORK!

DO NOT TRUST! This man should not have an LLC. The head gasket blew on my vehicle, I called Rick and he came out quoted me on labor and had me pick up the parts. He spent a couple hours taking apart my engine put the parts in my front seat and left for the day. We went back and forth for a couple days on when he would be back to finish the job, only to never show up again. He forwarded my calls and stopped replying to my texts after he said that he would be over at 5am Saturday morning. I ended up getting my car towed to a shop near by that determined I needed an entirely new engine due to missing parts and what parts were there were scattered and in bad shape. I had only paid him $85 for diagnostics, so the parts that are missing must have been worth some money. Please, if you are looking for a mobile mechanic, go somewhere else. I would hate for someone else to go through what I’ve been through with this.

If I could give this guy and his help 10 stars I would. You guys were a total life saver. My family and I took a trip to Washington to visit my niece. While out there my mom's vehicle broke down and we weren't sure why. You were extremely helpful and reach out to us quickly. You all did a fantastic job our trip was saved. Would not recommend going to this guy. He replaced my timing belt and water pump on my car but he did it incorrectly he had missing blots and loose bolts and he bent some stuff also he was avoiding my calls and text when he knew he messed up my car. Avoid this guy It doesn't seem like he knows what he is doing. Edit:No one else but Rick's mobile mechanic and the shop that fixed his mistakes worked on my car. I don't know where he got that multiple people work on it or how he would know. And it was about a week after he worked on my car that it started making a horrible grinding noise and I told him right after it happened. So I don't know about the several weeks later when it was around a week and I had barely driven it just to work for about 4 days that is about a 7 minute drive. Posted pictures to show proof. Got my car nov 22 and it started having problems dec 2 and a picture of what the shop found and fixed.

My car broke down late at night and after multiple calls with other businesses that could not provide help, i was feeling helpless. Until i called Rick and he told me he would be there in an hour no problem. he showed up exactly at the time he said he would—11 PM on the dot. He diagnosed and fixed the issue incredibly quickly, all while staying completely professional and friendly. The pricing was honest and cost-efficient, especially for such a late call. If you need a mobile mechanic you can truly rely on, Rick is the one. Highly recommend!
