*UPDATED REVIEW AT BOTTOM I’m not one to give someone a bad review based on one experience but I feel I have to at least give people a warning if they’re thinking about coming here. Background: I just moved here from California and ended up getting a hole in my tire. This place has the best rating on google and has a lot of good reviews so I figured it was the best option. I also saw that the shop themselves posted about doing tire repairs for free along with a couple other services. I decided to make an appointment to get my tire repaired and all rotated (which was also said to be free) while I was there. When I got there the staff were very friendly and honestly didn’t take that long to complete the service. However, when they finished they gave me my keys back and told me my visit came out to $120.38. I am not a very confrontational person so I just paid the money and left. As the day has gone on I’ve been thinking it over and decided that although I didn’t speak up for myself, I should at least let potential customers know what’s going on. Even though I didn’t get a quote from them directly, I do believe $120 is a MAJOR up-charge for what a tire repair/rotation should cost. I’ve also attached my receipt and the shop’s post about those services supposedly being free. UPDATE: So if you read the above review I had to pay $120 for a tire repair and all rotated when I was told it was free. The update to the story is that one of the workers, Tony, reached out the next day and apologized as it WAS supposed to be free however it was a new policy so whoever checked me out had forgotten. Tony then told me I could go back in whenever to get a full refund. Suffice to say I got my refund, the staff is still really nice, and because they fixed their mistake I’ve changed my rating to 5 stars. I didn’t want to delete the original post because I can still be informative to potential customers.

This is where I have taken my car for everything the last few years. They have taken very good care of me and make sure I can safely drive my 2010 Cadillac for a while longer without worry. It only has 73000 miles on it and is loaded with all the extras. I just needed to be sure it was all set for winter weather, oil change, etc. It's a beautiful car.

I found the communication to be poor and they are too expensive. I won't be back. Follow up: River City Tire wanted $545 to patch a broken brake line. For that price, I would expect the entire brake line to be replaced from the master cylinder to the rear brake. The technician told me it was just for a patch. I picked the car up and they charged me $88 for an estimate after I explained what the problem was when I arrived with the car. I noticed a $5 environmental fee.. and then they wanted to charge an additional 3% for using a credit card. SMH. I feel like they are targeting a certain amount out of each customer regardless of the work. I picked the car up and took it to another shop that charged $269 for the same job. River City Tire charges way above and beyond and is taking advantage of people who don't know any better.

I do not give 5 stars often. I usually do 4 because people (companies) always have room for improvement. With that being said, guess what River City did the last time I was in? They made a mistake on someone else's vehicle. They did not put the tires to the back or whatever order the customer had wanted. It was the end of tge day and noone wanted to stay around. They admitted remembering the discussion and that details did not make the ticket. They made plans with the customer and fixed it. This is 5 stars because most places do not have customer service. Of course the guys know cars. I can bring in my Jeep and say I have "a, b, c" going on and they say straight away if they need to diagmose it or do whatever. She is an older Jeep. Then we talk costs and plan. No pressure. Just what is best for the Jeep and best for me. They do encourage you to not ignore the idiot lights on your dashboard.

The service that was performed was to ensure the car was ready for a major road trip. All major fluids were changed as part of this service. Although the total cost was higher than I projected, prevention was a key part of doing this work. The only complaint that I have is the service charge for using a credit card. That cost alone was an up charge of almost $30. I have done business with River City Tire and I hadn’t been charged for that before. Would have been nice to know that before hand so I could have written a check for the amount.

I’ve taken several vehicles here over the years and the service is always fast and at a great price. Today I had a tire that needed patched and I dropped it off without an appointment and they were able to repair it within a few hours! The shop does excellent work and keeps you updated throughout the process. Would recommend for any type of automotive service needed.
