I had been looking for a new car for a while. I loved my current car but it was getting up in miles. I found a one year old certified S60 online and made on general inquiry on the website. I received a nice email from salesman Michael Pleasants. I told him I was interested and also asked if he could evaluate my trade over email since I lived 1.5 hours away. Rather than try to lure me in with vague promises and statements, he was glad to accommodate my request. A day later he texted me their thoughts on my trade which was much better than other dealerships. I made an appointment to test drive the car the next day. Michael does not have a pushy bone in his body. He was very kind and relaxed and also very knowledgeable about the vehicle. We went on a long test drive while he explained all the features of the car and the cpo program. He then left me alone with the car to think and then I handed him my offer. He went to his manager, came back with a reasonable counter and we shook hands. I'm sure I could have pushed a little more but it really was a fair price and they were really good about my trade. I've been buying cars for 30 years and Michael is literally the most "Pleasant" salesman I have ever worked with. I do not like vague and pushy sales people and Michael was the opposite. I highly recommend you ask for him. As to the rest of the experience, the dealership itself is nice and comfortable, all the staff seemed friendly and laid back and David in the finance department did a great job explaining their warranty products but was NOT pushy about it or upset when I elected not to buy them. Also, and very important, other than their doc fee that every dealer has, they DO NOT have annoying and over priced dealer add ons you have to pay for like most dealers do these days. That is a big deal to me and just shows that this dealer is honest. The agreed price is the agreed price and not something more.

We are new Volvo owners and have been impressed by Kathy Green in the service department, along with the technicians. Kathy is a great listener, quickly answered our questions or found information as needed. She got our car in right away to have a technician look at a small software issue and also promptly followed up on that visit two days later to implement a final fix stipulated by Volvo corporate. She's easy to work with, very welcoming, and looked after our car very professionally. We noticed the strong rapport among members of the service team too. Everyone was attentive to time and thoughtfully gave updates on repair progress even though the car was there for less than an hour.

My 2017 Volvo V60 XC broke down near Peoria, IL, on my way home to Columbus, OH, after visiting family in Texas and Nebraska. On recommendation from the tow truck driver, I had the car towed directly to Scherer Volvo Service and spent the night at a nearby hotel. Right when they opened the next morning, I got a call from Service Advisor Kathy Green, who moved things around to fit in a diagnosis that morning and get my car repaired by the end of the day, even providing me with a loaner car to use while I waited. I was able to get home to Columbus that night. I appreciate her understanding of my predicament and the amazing fast work Scherer Volvo did to get me back on the road. I recommend them highly!

Traveling through and had AC trouble. Called and was told service was open until 2. Get there and service is not open. (Apparently someone at their adjacent Mazda store had picked up.) Walked into sales. Five people working in there and no one says anything to us. Walked all the way back to service through where they are remodeling and no one stops me to ask if I need help. My girlfriend finally just walks into an office. Was told to try Mazda next door. While the girl at Mazda at least did her best to help the gentleman there was a grouch. Volvo is a luxury brand!! How are there no hours on a Saturday?

I can’t say enough good things about my experience buying my XC90! I’d been searching for a very specific combination, black with the Bowers & Wilkins sound system but when I stumbled across the Bright Dusk one at this dealership, something about it caught my eye. I decided to take a chance on it, and I’m so glad I did, the color is absolutely beautiful in person. Geysell Morales reached out right away and was truly fantastic to work with, and Dave Ehlers made the finance portion simple and stress-free. Buying the car sight-unseen was a bit stressful, and I honestly missed the traditional moment of driving off the lot, but having it delivered to my home was such an exciting experience. I had an absolutely miserable experience with a dealership 10 miles from my home. Borderline illegal. I used the Volvo website to find the car I wanted at Scherer, 600 miles away. Called them. Michael P. made the entire experience so smooth. Total pro. No pretense. Very straightforward. Very easy. And he threw in some extras without mentioning them. He took my calls during off hours when I was prepared to leave a message and made sure every question was answered. Even FaceTiming me to help set the car up after it arrived. If I could give 10 stars to the service department, I would. Over the Thanksgiving holiday week, I found myself in a jam with my 6-month old Volvo that I had purchased in another city. From the moment I called Scherer Volvo I knew I and my car would be well taken care of. They treated me with respect and kindness and went out of their way to help me, even though 1) I had not bought the car from them and 2) what was wrong, though crucial to me, would not result in much money, if any, to them. I was blown away by how well I was treated and how quickly and thoroughly they fixed my problem. Have you ever hugged or been hugged by people at a service department at a car dealership? Well, I have! I have learned the hard way that when you buy a car, what you really are buying is the service department. My experience at the service department at the dealership in Chicago where I bought the car has, multiple times, been shameful, and the complete opposite of Scherer Volvo. If I didn’t live 150+ miles away, you can bet I’d be a loyal and happy customer. A BIG shout-out to Kathy, Peyton, and Jason — I cannot thank you enough. You went above and beyond and I truly appreciate all you did for me. 💕

Rode over from Bloomington with my mom to get a service on her Volvo. We chose to wait, but a full service took only about an hour and a half which wasn’t too bad. And they did say they have a valet service that will come get your vehicle for service if you don’t have time to sit and wait, which is so nice. After it was complete, we asked one of the service people at the desk a few questions on the infotainment system. He was kind enough to sit in the car with us and explain everything. All the staff there were so kind and helpful. Would highly recommend for any Volvo service needs.

Could not have asked for any easier or more simple of a buying process. I worked with my Saleswoman, Geysell Morales, and Mr. Dave Ehlers in finance, who were both able to handle my transaction fully remotely with me being 3 - 3 1/2 hours away in St. Louis, including my trade appraisal and setting up financing. Speaking of financing, Mr. Ehlers was able to beat my very competitive rate from Navy Federal with their lender “CEFCU” by nearly a point and a half! Both Geysell and Mr. Ehlers went above and beyond with the timeliness of their responses, including responding on their off days and after business hours no matter what the question or need was. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Tiffany (Sales Manager) in a very clean and presentable facility, and it seemed everyone had a smile on their face (even if it was performative for the customer service ;)). Lastly, as I was transitioning items from my trade to my new X5, I was greeted by Mr. Scherer himself, the owner. He was very friendly and thanked me for my business, and stood in the freezing cold to carry out a personable 2-3 minute convo. Whenever I’m in the market again or anyone I know, even though we’re 3 1/2 hours away in STL, this is the FIRST place I’m checking and contacting. Because I was able to complete everything remotely, I was in and out of the dealer within 20-30 minutes tops. Just brought my trade title and down payment check, and that was it. Thank you to Geysell, Tiffany, and Dave for the simplicity and transparency of everything! If I could leave 6 stars I would. This M50i shouldn’t be street legal LOL

Working with Michael was great. Called the dealer shortly before closing one night, asked to speak with Michael and told him about wanting a C7 corvette they had and even though I live across the country he made the deal super easy. He took all the pictures and videos of the car that I requested even though it was about 20 mins before closing time. Throughout the whole process I was never pressured to buy extra add ons, buy a service contract, none of the extra mess you normally have to fight dealerships on when buying a car. I told them I wanted the car and Michael and the management team made it happen. From start to finish the deal took 8 days and that includes shipping a car across the country. Even after the deal was done and I received the car, I still got answers to questions I had. Overall a great experience.
