Kathy Green squeezed us onto the schedule same day and Jason Sparks was able to fix us up, even working through his lunch break to get us on the road as soon as possible. Just paid $650.00 to have a car battery replaced here. It’s hard to believe they’d have the audacity when you can get a new battery at the auto parts store for around $150. I knew the dealer would be more expensive, but the final bill was jaw-dropping. $200 of the bill was a “diagnostic fee” that did not apply towards the cost of labor. I don’t know a lot about cars, but even I knew that the issue was the battery when we brought the car in. The idea that they’d have to diagnose anything in the first place is utterly absurd. Then the dealership’s practice of charging that much for a diagnosis and not applying the cost to the labor is simply price gouging. The Volvo dealership that we normally go to in the Quad Cities does not charge for diagnosis at all. Needless to say, I’ll go anywhere else before we take our car to Scherer again.★☆☆☆☆ 2 months ago
