Most pleasant person to ever have answered a mechanic’s phone. She was happy and most helpful. The work was done promptly, efficiently and fairly, and I was told how to handle the situation myself if it happened again. I never felt pressure. I will definitely make this my go to mechanic. And by the way, i think this is the first google review I have ever done, and i AM of the generation that was raised on black and white TV.

We were visiting Salt Lake from Arkansas in our 80 series LandCruiser and were having some serious issues. The gentleman at the LandCruiser Heritage Museum recommended State Automotive. We called them and worked out a plan over the phone. They worked us in and had the job done in record time and we were able to make it back to our tow rig in Moab. this shop is the place to go if you are looking for an honest mechanic. they specialize in old toyotas, radiator and A/C systems, but i would trust them with any vehicle. i have brought almost all my cars/trucks here and the service is always amazing. they retrofitted the a/c system in my 83 buick and had it blowing ice cold in no time. i bring them all kinds of weird projects and they seem to always be able to figure it out. Dustin and the team are very passionate about their service and always do me right. let them take their time with your vehicle and they wont disappoint. i run a restyling shop and have referred many of my customers to them for repairs/inspections, knowing they will treat my customers right. trust me, they will treat you right!

Wow! I didn’t realize going to the mechanic could be a fun and comfortable experience! Seriously! From the initial call with Miriam to the walkthrough of my pre purse inspection report with Todd (super thorough inspection by Adam), I couldn’t be any happier with their service. The inspection was less expensive than any other shop I called and they got me in same day. The shop was clean and comfortable and had wifi which allowed me to work while I waited. I’ll absolutely be back when my new car needs to be serviced. These folks are the real deal.

"I was so impressed with State Automotive! I took my car in for an emissions air code and major repairs because the car had sat not running for six years. instead of just telling me what was wrong, the owner of the shop, help me set a priority list of repairs to have the car road worthy. He explained everything clearly and exactly what problems needed to be addressed. I also appreciated that they identified a few other items that might need attention in the future but didn't pressure me to get the work done immediately. They gave me a quote and let me decide when I was ready. The whole team was very friendly and made sure i was keep in the loop of the cars status since vehicle needed to have so many wrinkles ironed out. The shops prices were very fair! I checked around my area and I doubt I would have got such a quality of workmanship for the price. This shop does not use cheap parts. This shop also worked with me on cost of repairs. My car is running so smooth. I'll definitely be back for my next repair". I am so appreciative of the team of people they have working there!

Todd and everyone there are very friendly and accommodating. They were able to squeeze me in on a Friday morning when they already had a full workload and shorthanded on top of that! I have utilized State Street Automotive since the current owner was a teen; and his lovely wife had not heard of Utah! As their invitation to review stated: if you did not have a good experience, please contact us, so we can make it right. The details are irrelevant, but initially I was not happy. I’ve learned to cool down, so I am communicating, NOT merely reacting. So gave it a couple days to mellow. I stink with names … I voiced my issues. I was invited to come meet with the owner, Trent (?). I missed Trent, but his wife offered to meet.As we were wrapping up, I complimented her for her communication, sincere listening and proposing a better conclusion than I had even considered requesting! Therefore, despite a speed bump, they made it better than just alright! Great shop! Great people! Great service! AND a second generation local, family owned business! Go with confidence!
