Let me start by saying "THIS IS HOW IT SHOLD BE DONE PERIOD" organized, professional ,knowledgeable , certified as well as accurate within the diagnosis that's given on your vehicle. In times where everything is so expensive who can afford to be jerked around when it comes to the maintenance of you only transportation. I was referred just like may of the rest of the extended Talcott Family and I say family because that's exactly what vibe you get walking in the door. The level of care, time , and concern that's given to each and every vehicle that they touch only shows that my referral was all of every bit of what I was told I so happy that I trusted the team @ Talcott Transmission with my Mercedes E-350 .

Can't thank you enough for all you have done for both Fred and I. When we first brought my Taurus to you to check the transmission, I was expecting a major hit to my budget. You could have easily convinced me that the transmission had to be rebuilt or replaced, but you suggested an alternative that not only worked but saved me money. Since then you have continued to keep our cars running smoothly at a more than fair price.

This auto repair shop is top notch in all respects, diagnosing, repair work and customer service. They diagnosed and repaired Mazda CX9 with a new transfer case and transmission fluid that the dealer said needed a new transmission and wasn't worth the cost of repairing. Talcotts repair was less then the dealer quoted and now car is used by a college student. Alex took the time on the diagnosis to make sure he was correct even driving the vehicle around to ensure the repair was correct. Most recently they fixed a Nissan Rogue AC. Alex knows his stuff and is very honest and up front. Definitely worth a visit if your car is in need of work.

I am writing this review as a public service... Its difficult to find an honest transmission shop, therefore the public should know that you will be taken good care of at this place, I have worked with the owner in the past and he is an honest person and technician. I know as a fact that if you bring your transmission concerns here you will receive the best work and expert advice... When it comes to a transmission rebuild you will get a true and complete rebuild with new parts, installed the right way. I know the owner and he absolutely prides himself in doing it right... I truly believe it would be a disservice to the community to not let my community know that we have the best transmission shop in the east coast right here in our local neighbourhood, so take it to Talcott... The guys at Talcott are extremely nice and friendly, and were able to inspect my car almost right away. They were able to adjust my break light sensor on the spot, and inspected my breaks at my convenience. They recommended services based on my needs, and did not suggest unnecessary fixes, flushes, addons, etc like some other auto shops do. I had an overall great experience with Talcott, and would highly recommend them, and will use them again for future auto needs.

Glad to have worked with Alex and the team of car mechanics. These guys saved my vehicIe! I came to Talcott Transmission upon the advice of my usual mechanic in Bloomfield, since he did not do transmission work. Alex and the team diagnosed the problems, did the transmission repair as well as a couple of additional repairs which needed to be done.

My son was told by an auto shop that his Subaru needed a new transmission for around $2500 and I told him to get a second opinion. I contacted Alex at Talcott Transmission early in the morning and he was very polite and accommodating,he told me to bring it right over. There was a $115 + tax to diagnose it but We think was worth it, Alex call us and told us that the transmission was ok and was a electrical issue. Thanks to Alex and Sierra we now know what the problem is. We will recommend to check them out before you go to a dealer or Auto shop .

Talcott Transmissions is the BEST place you could take your car to get repaired. Alex has been specializing in transmission work for over 40 years, but is knowledgeable about ALL car repair. I wish I could rate more than five stars, highly recommend, especially the transmission job that they did for my Ford Taurus, is perfect, Alex is the owner of his business with a long time experience and great personality, all of his team members are professional ,after investigation on your car he explains car problem and how much will cost for repair without any hidden fees, they rebuilt my car's transmission in less than a week with a very reasonable cost, after completing all the required road test, certified warranty for 3 years unlimited mileage , now transmission is running like Brand new !! Excellent service, I'd highly recommend to anyone who needs transmission work or any work for that matter. I needed a full rebuild, and Alex did a full inspection and gave me the rundown of exactly what had happened to my transmission. When we discussed that a full rebuild was needed, he was very descriptive with everything that it entailed, and provided a very honest and fair price for it all, and what I would consider a pretty quick turnaround time. He ended up finishing all the work faster than he quoted as well, and it's smooth as butter now. If you want to be sure you're getting the right work done, on time, and at a good price, hive him a call.

This place was awesome when Ken used to own it, i was a regular customer of his and would bring a fleet of vehicles to him. Unknowing that Ken sold the business i brought a 2000 F350 to this place for a flywheel replacement, to start they lost my key, broke the ignition. They over filled the tranny with 1 gallon of additional fluid, i made a video of me draining the fluid at night when i drove it home. The next day the owner offered to give me a discount of a couple hundred dollars to rebuild the transmission because now it was slipping. Piece of ishh mechanics and owner. I did not have the time at the time to sue these pieces of, so i dealt with it and had everything else it needed done at another reputable repair shop. The problem is the flywheel they installed is now broken, after only 30k miles. This place deserves 1 star at best.

Talcott Transmissions truly came to the rescue by sorting out our transmission problem. Alex, the owner, was willing to receive our 1993 Plymouth onto his property, even though it was an old vehicle. He examined it thoroughly and gave us an honest assessment about its condition. He saved our whole family a lot of time and worry by letting us know that it was beyond repair. We are happy to be able to move forward with our lives without our beloved “Great White Whale.”. Alex gave it a dignified send-off after 23 years of loyal service to 3 generations of our family. It's always a pleasure working with Alex, Cora, and the staff as one of their UPS drivers, but this was the first time as a customer. Had my brakes done and was given a quote when i called and made an appointment, and it was mentioned they would verify that quote once they took a look and verified the work. Was kept in constant contact with the work by phone and email throughout the day. The work was done within the quote and efficiently for my time frame. Had a breakdown of additional concerns to be aware of with full rundown of what and how they should be tackled without pressure. It's definitely an auto shop to give a call to and have trust in.
