I came to Tire Choice on Airline Blvd in Portsmouth and needed a patch for my tire. Mr. Terrence greeted me quickly, was very friendly and gave me a fair price. The work was done within a reasonable timeframe as it was busy and I expected a long wait. The location is conveniently located and I’d absolutely return to this location to avoid the upsell other places try to give. They are all very professional as well!

I purchased 4 tires from here 4 months ago. As of now, 1 of these tires has a side wall blow out. I did not pay for there extended warranty. Goodyear has a 5 year manufacturer warranty on these tires. This company has refused to even look at this tire, let along process the warranty, because I didn't pay for there extra fees. Instead, they want to sell me a brand new tire, to replace the 4 month old tire I already purchased from them. When I went into the location to get documentation that they refused to cover this so I could go to Goodyear directly, there was no-one in the store. I stood there yelling for 15 minutes, with no response at all. I then went outside, and banged on there exterior door and walked back in. I was immediately confronted by the "New" manager and was told this was not appropriate, even though I had been standing there for an extended time. When I stated that I needed documentation on why they wouldn't honor the manufacturer warranty, I was told its because I didn't pay for there extended warranty. I do not recommend anyone go to this location. They will not honor any manufacturer warranties, without paying extra for there extended warranty, and instead will keep trying to sell you new tires. STAY AWAY

I would like to detail my experience with the service manager, Sam, at the Tire Choice location on Airline Boulevard in Portsmouth, Virginia. I had called to place an order for tires, and the total was $232. I spoke with Sam, who advised me that she needed my card for a deposit. I had my father taking the tire up, as I was at work at the time, and upon his arrival, he advised me Discount Tire could do it quicker, as he was going out of town at 2pm. Given that Tire Choice had to have the tire shipped from the warehouse and could not guarantee it would be ready by 2pm, I told my father to take it to discount tire and I immediately called Tire Choice to cancel the order, as I did not want them to waste their time. As I checked my account to ensure she cancelled the order, I noticed she charged me the FULL amount, including labor and warranty, prior to any work being done. As I spoke with Sam, I advised her of the timeliness issue and assured he they did nothing wrong, but unfortunately I was on someone else's time. I even told her they were better priced than discount tire! I then questioned the charge, and her attitude immediately shifted. She proceeded to tell me that "this is why we charge, so people don't get here and refuse to pay." I asked how that made any sense, as she did not perform the service yet was charging me for labor. She then said "it sounds like you are cancelling the order because you don't want to pay for it." I assured her that is not the case and questioned how she could come up with that statement, again as she has already charged my card. She then advised me that she would cancel the order, which would pull off the authorization hold on my card and immediately refund it, and that I would no longer be welcome at any tire choice automotive center. However, When Saturday came, the charge went through. So she did not cancel the order, and instead charged my card the full amount. That is theft! I am now having to dispute this with my bank, and when I tried to call Saturday to attempt to get it refunded from their end, I was hung up on! This level of customer service is absolutely insane! First to act like I can't afford a service, then to charge me for the service that was never performed! Absolutely disgusting customer service!

I called the number listed for this location and even though it had a local area code it went to a call center. That should have been the first red flag. I explained to the operator that I needed an inspection today and that I was on a time limit. The operator assured me that this location offered state inspections and that I would be able to drop off my vehicle this morning, no problem. When we get to the location we are told that they do not offer state inspections. If you are looking to get a state inspection here, do not waste your time. Also, if you do not have a way for your location to be directly contacted outside of a call center, you need to make sure the call center has the correct information to relay to customers.

I called prior about an inspection and was told the inspector would be there. When I brought my car in I was told the inspector wouldn’t be in after getting dropped off and returning with another vehicle to get home. I was then advised I could take it elsewhere and at that point I had to leave it. A few hours later I was called and advised that the inspector was there and my vehicle had failed which I don’t believe but this location is very unprofessional and unreliable starting with the person at the front counter. I will never be back there for anything and will make sure my friends and family go elsewhere. This location in Churchland on tyre neck is horrible

The place was clean and the service was top notch. Sam and Eric knew their stuff and were very knowledgeable. Traveling up from Key West, me and my wife needed an oil change due to driving back in a few days. They did a full inspection which made me feel comfortable that my car was road ready. This will always be my maintenance destination when I come back in town.

I dropped my van off for a brake inspection, after taking it apart they called to tell me there technician wasn't qualified to determine whether I needed new brakes. I was told to come pick up my van. I drove it a couple blocks home. Then later, as I was taking my 2 toddlers to urgent care, as soon as I got on the interstate I started hearing clinking and grinding noises. It sounded like the underside of my van was falling apart. I had to have my van towed to the dealership where they diagnosed it as a wheel bearing failure and it cost me over $5,000 in repairs.

Very disappointed in my full experience. Was a regular customer but will not get another dollar from me. Bad from the start brung my truck in to get a alignment tech. I ask if they can do it as truck is lifted and wheels etc are different and not stock I get a yes and they bring the truck in. Tech does his courtesy inspection and say your oil pan, and your valve cover gasket are leaking. I tell him to show me as I just did a oil change and didn't have any leaks. He shows me the leak and I know when I did my oil change not even a hour prior I wasted some oil filling vehicle back up and you can clearly see it's running down from up top because didn't get it all I ask him have he opened the hood to investigate more on the leak he said no I said open them hood and showed him I wasted oil he tells me oh that makes sense why looks like leaking down. THIS SHOULD'VE BEEN A RED FLAG BUT I LET HIM CONTINUE. He then comes back my axles was scraping looks like I need a wheel hub on front passenger I then proceeded to tell him it wheel hub broke last weekend if he looked caliper, wheel hub etc were all just replaced on that side because of it axle had some scapes but he should do a better inspection before telling me or anyone I need stuff and clearly he not looking just trying to find something to sale me. So finally we get to the alignment he set it then goes on drive I see him pull it back on the rack no biggie he pulls back off after changed stuff and goes on another drive parks truck and says I got it the best I can (pic below) I check out and go down the road it's worse than I was before I came in!! I call the store back they say can you come back in I'm like no I can tomorrow I was there 2-3 hours and I was the only customer. So today I go in at 9am to get refund but was told go to another store they can fix truck it need a wheel sensor reset which I told them my truck doesn't have but they swore it did. I drive 10min to the next store on tyre neck Rd it's now 1015-1030 and they were like you don't have that sensor on this truck I was like i know that but they told me to come over here. The manager at that store called the area manager Chris and they tell me to go to a store in Suffolk another 26 mins away I get to that store and manger was like they shouldn't have touched your truck which at this point I agree. Was there from 11am something till 1pm and I finally was like I'm not spending my whole day here I have other stuff to do I've wasted 5 hours of my life this morning and fuel driving to 3 different stores for absolutely nothing and 2-3 hours yesterday and I can't even get a refund until someone at corporate approve it Tuesday and they not going to compensate me for all the fuel i wasted when could've all been AVOIDED BY A SIMPLE NO WE CAN'T DO THE ALIGNMENT. CANT STRESS ENOUGH THEY WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DOLLAR FROM ME OR MY FAMILY.

I called for a price on a certain service which was about $150 and at the store added an oil change… the total price was over &350. Be on the lookout for all their hidden fees. Needless to say I just did the tires (purchased tires online and only needed mounting and balancing)and that still cost me $225.

Friendly and professional. They have great prices. They got me in and out very quickly. They went above and beyond. I will bring my vehicle back in the future for any service needed. I would recommend them to anyone. Five Star service!!!! It's hard to find service like this in this day and age. Very satisfied. Store under New management. Ethan is the new manager and he was great. Shout out to Dylan the new mechanic that took care of my vehicle. This shop has mostly all new people working there and they are all very impressive with the way they handle business and take care of the customer.
