TuneTech is outstanding: skilled and professional mechanics, quick turnaround both times I have been there, transparent explanations with fair pricing (their quote for A/C recharge was 40 percent less than the quote from another garage), and friendly and cordial people to boot! This is my Boise garage in the future.

I was in need of a minor repair on my vehicle and found a company convenient to me to fix it. I don’t know my way around a car so went looking for help. What I found out about Tune Tech on Fairview Ave is they were more of a “Family Spirit Company” than a fix it shop. The group I met with kept me informed of the progress that day which included a problem I would have not uncovered. It was a wire bundle in my truck that had melted on the mating end and exposed the real problem. The guy working on it, Dave, sent a pix to their computer to share with me, so they could explain what was further needed. A new part was ordered and delivered quickly and although it extended the labor time, they met me in the middle on the final labor charge. While I was there McKenna and John made me feel quite at home while I waited. Their office is adorned with Customer Pictures, Thank You cards from Customers, and pictures of all their employees. Waiting is NOT something I’m good at, but these people made the time go by quickly as they all interacted with me during my stay. Never had that happen before!! I HIGHLY recommend these folks to all of you, and I will be back should a need come up in the future. A Priceless Experience All Around. So, Thanks John, McKenna, and Dave for the Best Customer Experience I could have ever asked for!! Jerry D

I used to work for an automotive company for 10 years. It sold and I was looking for another good company close by my home. I met John and Chris through Napa parts. I got to know them and found they are honest and trustworthy people to do business with. If our company was busy or couldn’t do something I would send them to Tune Tech knowing that there integrity stood strong. There prices are good and they are fair. They tell you if you don’t need something. They were very helpful when I brought my car to them. I would highly recommend them. Thank you to the honest tech who worked on my car.

I needed a turbo replaced and a valve cover gasket fixed on a Ford Escape. Tune Tech Fairview gave a fair estimate, and also found things during the repair that needed to be corrected, and were upfront and reasonable with the charges. We are very pleased with how the car is running and with the service in general. You can tell when a business has mechanics who are themselves car enthusiasts. Owners of classic cars are very particular about who works on them, and I noticed they seem to trust Tune Tech with their classic cars, a couple of which I was able to see in their maintenance bays. That is always a good sign of quality work.

These guys are a bunch of crooks. They wanted to charge me $400 to replace my light bulbs. We’re not talking the whole assembly. Just the 4 bulbs. High beams and low beams. They charge $100 parts and labor per bulb. I just went to AutoZone and purchased the bulbs myself and installed them myself. It only cost me $100 total. I saved myself $300. They also charge a diagnostic fee per item. So, if you have 3 separate things wrong with your vehicle they charge 3 separate diagnostic fees. I had my car there all day and they only did one diagnostic. I told them I wanted everything looked at as there were multiple issues going on and they said I would need to reschedule and bring my car back. I have an oil leak and it could be one of three issues. Rather than just do their job correctly and pin point the issue, they put all three on the estimate. They quoted me twice the amount the dealer quoted me. They also removed a hose to my radiator and caused my coolant to leak out. My car overheated when I was up in the mountains. Thank God they’re just happened to be a shell gas station there that sold coolant. Go to the dealership. You will get much better quality work done, honest feedback and a fair price. The nice thing about the dealer is they charge one diagnostic fee for all diagnostics and then they apply that amount to your total cost when you pay for the repairs. I will never go back to tune tech again and I will be reporting them to the BBB.

Bought a used van, and brought it in for a thorough check up. As always, great service! Found a couple legitimate things that for sure would turn into future problems, and there was no sales pressure to fix them immediately, just sound advice about what I've got. I chose to have them do the work now rather than wait for a bigger problem, but I love these guys! I've had them do all my auto maintenance for several years now, and in all my experience everybody there has been great to work with, ethical and very good at what they do.

After having the dealership work on our van for the 3rd time in a 3 week span, we decided to take it to Tune Tech and they were nothing but AMAZING!! Not only did they communicate efficiently and in a timely manner but they also provided a very thorough and complete diagnostic inspection which included photos. My husband and I will be forever customers because of them!

1/15/2025. Junk Fees. 11% surcharge on cost of repairs. Last Thursday I had an alternator replaced at Tune Tech on Fairview for $716.85. Over the weekend I had a chance to review the bill. ($385 Parts, plus $240 Labor @ $160 per hour, for total $625) And tax = $23.10. However, in addition, I had been charged $50 Shop Supplies and $18.75 Processing Fee, for a total of $68.75 or 11% of the repair total! On Monday, I stopped by Tune Tech for an explanation of this 11% repair surcharge and spoke with the “owner”, John. I asked him to what Shop Supplies were needed and provided for this repair. None. (e.g. "Shop Rags. Wires, Grease") If no shop supplies were specifically used for this repair, why was I charged $50. John stated this is “the cost of doing business” and went on a long rant. Evidently they do not do not track specific shop supply cost to specific repairs but allocate these costs to customers, whether any supplies were used or not, based on some allocation method which he could not explain. I asked about $18.75 Processing Fee. Once again the “cost of doing business” rant. John stated that “all businesses up and down the street” are doing this as his justification. He could not explain how or from where the $18.75 amount was derived. I asked if he felt charging a customer $50 for shop supplies when, in fact, no shop supplies were used? His answer was “Yes”. He also feels the unsubstantiated $18.75 Processing Fee is proper and rightly justified. Obviously, the cost of doing business with Tune Tech is an additional 11%, or $68.75 in this case. I do not like being charged for costs I did not incur or for fees that are unsubstantiated.

Great service, great price. Ken was awesome when I was running late and helped push my appointment out a little. Love that it’s Veteran owned as well. I’ll be back next week with my other vehicle!

Taking my car in for service is a daunting task if I don't trust the garage where I take it. Tune Tech, however, is honest and takes good care of my car. I know that when I take it to them, they don't invent problems that need servicing. Having faith in a mechanic is really important to me.

Great customer service! They completed a very detailed inspection report that was sent to my phone with pictures and descriptions so I could understand my vehicle issues. As well as a follow up phone call to verify they met my needs and wants. I will be recommending everyone I know to this shop for vehicle repairs. The staff was very nice and took everything I said into consideration and made me feel confident and comfortable in what was being completed on my vehicle. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Spent $130 here on a 30 point pre-sale inspection when I was interested in buying a truck and they took my money but told me the undercarriage was too dirty to do a proper inspection. That was on the report they gave me. All they listed was it needed an oil change and the battery test failed. I took it to a second mechanic down the road, paid $50 and they gave me an entire list of problems with the vehicle, from the suspension being completely worn out in the front needing new tie rods, control arms, cv axles, barrings, etc. Tune Tech did not list a single issue with the suspension which would have cost me thousands of dollars to fix. I am glad I took it to another place who told me I should pass on this truck and I did. They said the undercarriage was not too dirty and did not inhibit them from making a better and much more thorough report. Disappointed as my usual mechanic down the road who was too busy that day to look at the truck recommended this shop. Safe to say I won't be visiting either of these places again.

My truck is now on its 3rd time back to tune tech for a timing cover replacement and all associated gaskets. It was pouring coolant out the first drive home, second drive home the oil pan near the cover is leaking oil- they tried to state this was another shops issue from prior work when its their RTV on the leak... now back in a third time - will see if its fixed.

Right off the bat I'm very happy with everything regarding my experience with tune tech. Had an unknown leak, they got my truck in a reasonable timeframe and were able to diagnose and get the problem resolved the same day. Price seemed very fair and truck is running great with no noticeable leaks. Loved the pictures with the inspection that let me know what was wrong with the truck, and things that at some point will need attention. Great all around service!!! Definitely recommend & plan on returning when my old truck needs something else serviced!!

Had an emergency situation with my 1972 Corvette. After calling multiple mechanics, they are one of the very few that were willing to take on the job, saving me from the sudden bind that I found myself in. They also were the only shop that agreed to keep my vette inside for as long as they had it (It’s in near show condition and has never seen a drop of rain/snow!). Communication was excellent as they diagnosed the issues, and they were very clear with what they were doing. After all was said and done, it was actually a fairly simple fix to get it up and running again, but they no doubt spent way more time on my vehicle than what they charged me for. Overall, very happy with their work and very impressed with how honest they were through and through. Highly recommend!

Tune Tech Fairview is, in a word, Terrific! I had an issue with a stuck oil sump drain plug and also needed to replace the right tie-rod end and steering rack boot on my 1953 MG TD. I had heard good things about Tune Tech and stopped by to talk to Kevin, the Service Manager. When he heard that it was an old British car, instead of showing me the door, he asked John, one of the owners, to join us and discuss the work. Long story short, they said “yes we can,” gave me an estimate, scheduled the work and got it done. Outstanding Work Tune Tech, Thank You!
