These guys are great! I've brought my car in for minor and very MAJOR repairs and they were able to fix all the issues I was having. They're good at explaining things in layman's terms for people who aren't as well-versed when it comes to cars. Their prices are very fair as well. Bring your car here if it needs maintenance!

I know this place is super busy all the time, but Josh and Graylin really stepped up and helped me take care of an issue for a good friend’s college daughter. I had a great experience at University Car Care and wanted to share my positive feedback. I had called them around 3:30pm to see if they could squeeze me in to patch a nail hole in my drivers side rear tire. When I arrived, I asked them to also check my passenger side rear tire as it kept losing air. They discovered that an old patch was leaking and promptly replaced it. I also asked if they could rotate my tires, and they managed to fit everything in, even staying 30 minutes late to make sure the job was done. Paul was the technician that patched and rotated my tires, while Josh ensured that the pricing for balancing, rotating, and patching my tires was fair. Mike gave me my key and made sure everything was working well in my car and that I was satisfied with the work. As someone who is familiar with how auto shops work, with my dad being a mechanic in Pennsylvania, I can confidently say that this shop takes exceptional care in their work and is very fair. It was such a relief to have my tires patched up, and the fact that rotating them made them feel brand new made the experience even better. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this auto shop to anyone in need of auto services. Their customer service was excellent, and I appreciated their attention to detail and dedication to providing quality work at an affordable price.

This shop is super reliable, friendly, and trustworthy. Albeit I've only gotten my car inspected here once before, their report back on general approvals, any related concerns for the safety of the car, etc. was very thorough and explained to me very well. I recently was having concerns about the functionality of my alternator and stopped by on a dime to ask for a quick scan and they were able to help me in extremely reasonable time (practically right away!!!). Totally recommend!!

This place is great. Fast, reasonable, straightforward. Every man I talked to (3 different guys) was patient and straightforward and respectful. I’ve had my fair share of men at mechanic shops and car dealerships ignoring me and/or treating me like I’m dumb. I’m not dumb. I just don’t know about cars. But I do know when someone’s trying to scam me. And none of these guys did. If I had a question they answered it. I asked about oil changes and a new battery and they immediately printed off estimates for me. It was really nice. I felt like a deer in headlights, I kept expecting to be talked down to but I was just met with patience and an answer. The prices I also thought were very reasonable. They’re itemized. There aren’t any hidden fees or weirdly named items. I went in for an inspection ($20) and they found a big piece of metal in my back tire. Don’t know how it didn’t pop but they let me take my car home to go to work, then they ordered a tire for me and had it done within 2.5 hours the next day. (~$200) In my opinion, that’s fast.

I wanted to edit my review a year later now in 2025, this is my favorite shop in the area and they’re worth it. You have to call for an appointment a month in advance for inspections but everything else can get in quickly and fair prices. They were great, did my inspection and were transparent about the issues. Able to get a reasonable price on fixes and will definitely be going back.

It was that time of year again for car safety inspection and after having made several calls around town to get my car inspected, University was the first place that allowed me to set a time/date to bring my car in. I found Josh to be warm and friendly upon my arrival, he answered all my questions, allowed me to add an oil change/tire rotation to my original request of an inspection. Upon picking my car up, the warm, friendly greeting met me again. Josh explained the services performed on my car, again answering any questions I had. I found the cost very reasonable, in fact, once home and comparing the cost to all my many years of service done at a local dealership, University was a bit lower, always a plus but I left feeling more confident in the services done on my vehicle. I highly recommend this business, it is now my "go to" place for any of my vehicle needs. Thanks Josh!

University Car Care was recommended to me by a local, and am I ever grateful that they did. Graylin and Mike took great care for my situation and did so courteously and professionally. I was in a bind and set to leave on vacation with in a week and needed my vehicle fixed for the trip. 6 other norfolk mechanics all laughed in my face and pretty much told me good luck. UCC were up front and honest about their staffing shortage, but we're also empathetic and listened to my urgent pleas for help. Unlike the other mechanics they said while making no promises that they would do everything they could to get my vehicle operable before my vacation. They did exactly that. Thank you so much to the team at University Car Care. I will be returning to them for future needs.

University Car Care is the absolute best and I wholeheartedly recommend them. They are trustworthy, dependable, competent, knowledgeable, friendly, reasonably priced, and just all around great guys. The customer service is great. They're honest and upfront with what you really do or don't need for your car, they explain things clearly without talking down to you or trying to pull any nonsense. I've been taking my car to them for everything from routine maintenance and inspections to major repairs and they've never let me down. They're honestly probably the only garage I ever want handling my car. They also came to the rescue for my Mom when her battery suddenly died. It had been fine when she'd driven out to visit me and when we went to get some food, but then suddenly wouldn't start. Luckily, we were really near to the garage and I immediately called them. they were kind enough to come out to us and help jump the car, and give her some opinions on replacing the battery and some other things to look out for. It was a life saver and both my Mom and I appreciate it. I think I've been using their services since about 2017 and they've always done great work. My car always runs like a dream when I get it back from them.

I’ve been a regular customer at University Car Care Center for quite some time, and my recent experience once again reminded me why I trust this team so much. As I was leaving work, I discovered my car had a completely flat tire—down to the rim. Thankfully, the shop is located directly across the street, and I headed over hoping they could help before closing time at 5 PM (I arrived just after 4). The young man at the counter—whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch—was only two months into his role, but you wouldn’t have known it. He was professional, knowledgeable, and reassuring. He quickly diagnosed the issue and told me they’d do their best to fit me in before closing. Sure enough, within minutes my car was being serviced. About 35 minutes later, Josh was driving my car to the front, ready to go. The entire experience was smooth, efficient, and incredibly appreciated. I want to give a special shout-out to Josh, Mike, and the new young man at the counter. The staff here consistently go above and beyond, and this visit was no exception. Thank you for the outstanding service!
