Walton's mechanic "Ken" did a fabulous job in rebuilding my engine for a 1979 Datsun 280zx. He took the entire engine apart, cleaned and refurnished worn parts and reassembled the engine. It runs like new now. Got a total clean bill of health for an advanced smog test required of older cars. Many thanks to Ken for great work. David G

Val is a great guy. I've had a lot of weird problems with two cars and they've almost always had an answer. They provide excellent service and communicate well. I bought a used car with tons of problems from the start and they've helped it get practically good as new.

I called asking if I could come in 30 minutes before closing to get an oil change in. I understand these things take time but I was hoping that it could be possible since I was on a time crunch. The guy that answered the phone literally laughed at me. Not even joking, that was his response. A simple “no” would have sufficed. Awful customer service, if that’s my first experience, won’t be taking my vehicles here for anything. If the company owner sees this, check your phone logs at around 5:02pm on 12/28/23 and see who the moron was that answered the phone. Definitely needs some disciplinary action.

Jose the manager told me my car was unrepairable he offered to buy it. I went to another shop that was able to fix the issues. I notice he does this often and resells for a higher cost after he repairs the vehicles at his home in Lawndale.

We absolutely love Walton's. My very first trip there was about 4 years ago. After the battery died, my vehicle was having a strange difficulty clearing the emissions check process, and it would not pass smog. None of the other places I took it (including the dealership) were able to provide any clues or advice other than "you need to drive it more before it will clear". I'd driven it over 1k miles and was beyond frustrated (I'd even gotten a fix it ticket for driving with expired tags) I took it to Walton's and they had it for two days. The tech methodically went through a long 80 mile process where you need to drive in specific ways/speeds for specific amounts of time in an attempt to clear the codes. When that failed, they did further research and found a TSB and recall specific to my year and model/trim that even the dealer had failed to find. They called me in, showed me what was needed, and even printed the recall and TSB info to take to the dealership. For all of this work (which was an absolute minimum 3 hours) they charged me nothing. They earned my business and respect for as long as I live in Redondo Beach.

Talk about excellent customer service. I haven’t taken my car in yet but I’m already impressed. My needs were simple. Oil change and front/back rotor and pad replacement. I purchased my own parts and was just looking to take my car in and have someone work on it to save me some time. After calling 4 other shops and being turned away because I had purchased my own parts, I called Walton’s and spoke to Val. Not only was he the most pleasant to speak with, but he was able to get me in next day. If you’re in need of a place to take your car, your first and only call should be Walton's.

Walton's is the best mechanic I have ever been to. Very honest, even recommending I buy the part I needed on Amazon because it would be less expensive than if they bought it! In addition, they are very friendly. I recommend them to all my friends, especially women because they have never taken advantage of my lack of knowledge regarding cars as other places have.

For all your needs call the shop manager his name is Val, very knowledgeable. There are 3 Expert technicians. They also have a shop vehicle for pick up and delivery of parts. Brought my vehicle in for repairs. Not only did it run better than it ever has Since I've owned it. They even Washed it And added paper floormats before I picked it up! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I would rate this place zero stars if I could. Took my car in for a simple diagnostic to see why my check engine light came on and a tire rotation. They told me they didn’t know what the code was for and deleted it after telling me they would give it to me. They didn’t rotate my tires after I paid them for it- I had to take my car back and tell them they weren’t rotated. I frequently rotate my tires and know which ones are which- just to find out shorty after they stripped my lug nuts and rim putting my tires back on. Lug nuts were dangling in the rim. This is negligence. I’m having to pay someone else to fix my stripped lug nuts now. I don’t trust them them to fix it at this point considering they couldn’t complete 2 very simple tasks.

Avoid This Shop Read the end. This place is completely dishonest. We called ahead and were quoted $500 to replace a battery. When we arrived, they suddenly stated that the new battery may not fix a problem and may need valve covers or other possible services and they changed the price to $700 for the exact same job after realizing we were not local. No explanation, just a blatant attempt to take advantage of travelers. A battery replacement is one of the most basic services a shop can do, yet they tried to charge an outrageous amount and hoped we wouldn’t question it. The whole interaction felt shady, dishonest, and predatory. Lying to your customers about services that the car does not need and changing your price when a customer shows up because you think you can squeeze more money out of them is scam behavior. If this is how they treat people, I can only imagine what they do to customers who don’t know better. Avoid this shop unless you want to be lied to and overcharged. We thankfully did and went to a shop with 5 start reviews less than 10 minutes away. I left both shops reviews..
