Jake is fantastic! I called last minute on a Saturday because my hood wouldn’t open when I pulled the release lever. I had already been to the dealership who wanted me to bring it back on Monday so they could spend a few hours on figuring out the issue. I pull into Jake’s and he gets started on getting the hood open. About 15 minutes later he tells me he found the problem and to come take a look. I was so nervous it was a broken wire or messed up mechanism. He grabs a pair of long stemmed tweezers and pulls out a tiny little pebble. Said pebble was lodged between the spring and housing causing it to jam. The whole thing took 15 minutes. He also charged me way less on an oil change! I would definitely recommend!

Update! We took our Honda Odyssey 2004 to West Valley Auto Repair for some p301 and p304 misfires. They checked the engine coils, spark plugs, fuel injectors and did a compression test. Everything looked good so they suggested a valve clearance adjustment. We did the adjustment and it still didn’t fix the issue, but they were so kind and didn’t charge us for the labor since it didn’t fix the issue. They explained to us it might be a computer system issue and a dealer could help us. We were disappointed it couldn’t be fixed at this mechanic, but they did everything right, were honest, kind, and helpful. We have old cars so I’m sure we will be back. This is an AWESOME place- take your cars here This mechanic is awesome. Honest, affordable, and friendly. We like to do our own repairs on our cars but one of our repairs didn’t go as planned. We towed it to West Valley Auto Repair and the staff was super friendly. They explained all the steps they took and kept us informed, they even caught a radiator leak that we missed. Thank you guys so much!

We drove in from Boise to go to a concert and our van died right as we pulled into our hotel. I looked up a nearby shop that had good reviews and found this place. We were so lucky! Jake and his team got us in first thing in the morning and had the van fixed within a few hours so we could get back home. West Valley Auto Repair was extremely helpful, fast, fair, and trustworthy! I recommend them to anyone! My daughter’s car had to be towed in the middle of the night after a late concert in West Valley and unfortunately we are from out of town. The shop was amazing after the car was towed and dropped off there at 3am. As soon as they opened they got to work and the girls were able to be on their way home in no time! Jake is awesome, gave a very fair price and is honest. After he replaced the stop light switch in my car, he made sure it actually fixed the problem and when he saw it hadn’t, he replaced it again which got it fixed. I really appreciate the extra care he took to ensure my car was good to go. He also *for free* reattached the plastic part of my bumper that was loose. 🥲 -Great shop, definitely recommend!

I brought in a car I was considering buying in for a pre-purchase inspection. Jake gave it an initial look and saw lots of red flags before even doing the inspection and said, "you sure you wanna buy this car?" He persuaded me to not have him do the inspection to save me money and recommended I keep looking and gave me some great mechanic's advice (particularly, Toyota & Honda are much less maintenance even if miles are a little higher). You have my respect and appreciation, sir. I'll likely be back.

My Subaru Forester had an oil leak coming from the valve cover gaskets, and it needed those seals replaced. I had taken it to other shops before, and they would take up to a week to fix it or replace parts. But I brought it here and I was honestly very satisfied — the next day after I dropped it off, it was ready.
