Recently my brother dropped his '96 Nissan truck off here for some extensive work and the staff/Stan were extremely helpful and very efficient . They were very honest and upfront about the amount of work that would need to be done and that had been done a few years ago by the Nissan dealership (apparently pretty shoddy). Ahrens staff worked very hard to keep the cost down and even with that I feel that the finally total cost was very reasonable. His truck runs like a top and purrs like a kitten now. thank you Ahrens staff!!

I didn't even get service at this shop and came to leave a review was waiting for my greyhound bus and guy at front desk named Stan was friendly and let me charge my phone so I would have my bus ticket am very appreciative thank you that jus shows there are still good people in this world thank you was visiting Gainesville from Orlando for two days and they were great that and that last experience was a reason I'll come back to your city thank you

Amazing mechanics and trustworthy. I can’t say enough good things about them. Joey and crew are great and price things fairly from what I can tell compared to others. The big thing to me is trust and I know I can trust them and they won’t tell me I need unnecessary repairs. They’ve been clear communicating what might eventually need to be replaced in the future. Highly recommend them. Everything they’ve ever fixed has functioned great. They’ve worked on my Toyota Tundra with 260,000 miles and it runs great.

Friendly, speedy service that goes above and beyond. Many mechanics around Gainesville refuses to work on rusty cars, but this shop fixed my car and gave alternative cheap fixes to keep me on the road. I greatly appreciate the mechanic for replacing my rear brake pads free of charge while fixing a loose bearing that I had no idea needed to be fixed asap. They're attention to detail is amazing, especially taking the time to reset my car's clock for me :) I highly recommend this honest shop~

I've been taking my car to Ahrens Auto for several years now, and I've always been impressed with their level of service. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and trustworthy, and they always take the time to explain the work that needs to be done in a way that I can understand. Stan, the service manager, is particularly impressive. He has a wealth of technical expertise, and he's always willing to go the extra mile. In addition to the great service, Ahrens Auto is also very quick and efficient. They always return my car on time, and they never try to sell me unnecessary services. Prices are also fair and reasonable. Overall, I can't recommend Ahrens Auto highly enough. They're the best auto shop I've found, and I know I can always count on them to take care of me.

Took my car to Ahrends on the recommendation of a specialist that services a different brand. Ahrends was communicative, thorough and honest. They seem very busy, likely because they are very good, and their shop is out of the way, but definitely worth the drive. Great experience!

I would not recommend Ahren's-- especially to university students-- based off of my experience with their team and their extreme upcharging of parts. Their pricing is not honest at all. I took my car in with serpentine belt issues. For my make and model, this part generally costs $30-$50. Ahren's priced this part at $80. Their diagnostic examine also found belt tensioner issues. For the serpentine and belt tensioner replacement combined, they quoted me $512 of repairs. This is extremely high and gives me the inclination that this is another mechanic in town that is trying to take advantage of college students who are not as informed on car repairs. I do not think the presented quote is fair by any means so thanked them and let them know I would not be having service done their. I was presented with an $85 fee for a half-hour diagnostic look. This fee was not disclosed beforehand at all, was not mentioned verbally, and I did not sign anything agreeing to this fee. Take your car elsewhere. I took my vehicle here just out of convenience of location, but have previously had much better service at the Firestone off of Archer and with Billy's Auto Repair & Towing. UPDATE: I went in to pick up my car and wish I could leave a negative review. If you take your car here and leave without even having any work done, you will be charged an $85 minimum. I asked why I wasn't informed of this in anyway (no signatures, no verbal inform) beforehand and the woman working the front desk had the owner come out. He raised his voice and started asking why I hadn't taken my car to Billy's or somewhere else. In his rant he referenced other reviews that I have left on Gainesville for miscellaneous places which was unsettling. He lied and said he listened to my phone conversation, saying that I was informed of all fees beforehand-- I certainly was not and he wouldn't play the recording. I have lived in Gainesville for many years and can say assuredly that this is one of the shadier places in town. They use deceptive business practices and their prices are anything but honest.

I ended up finding Ahrens because another shop in town referred me to them. They said it was between Ahrens and another local shop that they would recommend, and I can’t tell you how thankful I am that other shop that I called first didn’t answer. Troy and Wendy at Ahrens went above and beyond while my vehicle was in their shop, making sure that I was kept in the loop during the diagnostic portion of the repair so that there were no surprises. (Despite what some other reviews might say, they were very upfront about their pricing for diagnostic fees). They had my vehicle back to me in no time and it is running smoother than ever. 10/10 service, professionalism, and workmanship. I would recommend Ahrens to anyone that asks and will definitely be taking my vehicle back for any future repairs that are needed. Thanks again for such a smooth experience!

My Infiniti threw a tricky fault code that could have meant a dozen different things. The selling dealer tried fixing it but was clueless on the real issue, but Joey at this shop pinpointed the exact cause—an overstretched timing chain. It's a massive job, not all shops will take it on! He mapped out the repair in plain English and stayed available for every question along the way. Wendy matched Joeiy’s technical skill with endless patience and a genuinely friendly approach, even while wrangling my hard-to-deal-with warranty company so I didn’t have to. After the timing-chain job was finished (car ran perfectly!), a separate issue cropped up when a bad battery left me stranded at home. Wendy and Joeiy didn’t hesitate—they arranged a tow for me, got the battery replaced, and had me back on the road that same day. From laser-accurate diagnosis to hassle-free warranty handling and rescue-level customer care, their service was flawless. You can tell where experience matters. Highly recommended!

My wife and son had a wonderful experience here. Our 2018 Elantra had broken down on the way to Tampa. We had left the car at the Hyundai dealership in Gainesville (Parks) and couldn't get any information from the dealer's service department for 3 days. Ahrens Auto got it from the dealership and fixed it for us in less than half a day. They were friendly and communicative and a beautiful contrast to the dealership's service department.

The owners here are extremely helpful. It is a husband and wife duo. Wendy is amazing and her husband is knowledgeable when it comes to cars. They worked with me to get my engine control module fixed in my Subaru and installed a new TPMS for one of my tires. They genuinely care and do not charge you for services you do not need. I highly recommend taking your car here for work. It’s a smaller shop so they have the time to look at your car in depth.

Hands down the best mechanic shop I’ve ever been to! As a college student away from home, they have taken amazing care of me. I own a German car and have been here several times already, and they have never failed to be honest, transparent, and reliable. Joey and Wendy always take the time to clearly explain the issues, walk me through my options, and never once make me feel pressured. It’s rare to find a shop that is this trustworthy and genuinely cares about their customers. I can’t recommend them enough.
