Had an appointment for an oil change. Little did I know, my vehicle was being inspected from top to bottom. I received a list of repairs, some urgent with detailed risks if not repaired. Was told they could not remove the cabin filter. The estimate for all repairs was over $1000.I declined the repairs and said I'd take my vehicle for a second opinion. My regular mechanic had no issues removing the cabin filter. One item listed as not working was found to be working after all. Long story short, get a second opinion with someone you trust.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 STAR REVIEWS. Came in for a Simple Maintenance on my truck, don't Agree with the UpCharges??? That's Fine, Leave with your transmission Sabotaged by the Mechanics' Thanks. Transmission was BRAND NEW never had any slippage or leaking of any kind on the brand new Remanufactured 2020 transmission installed. [Never had not one issue, BRIGHT RED tranny fluid before giving to them] Left the truck over night for the Maintenance with them and supposedly 3 qts of oil leaked out from the transmission.... They are crooks and are willing to steal your money with a smile, I got my truck home to find EVERY SINGLE bolt on the transmission pan loosened 1 whole turn and find that the WHOLE OIL PAN DENTED causing the leak from their incompetent mechanics lifting up on my transmission pan for whatever reason they needed to. And sliding it on the floor aswell. The transmission pan HAS NEVER been taken off before and now all of a sudden its bent and been dragged on the floor with the Security Markings to verify the bolts are no longer torqued. Well my 4l60e is now blown and need a new one after leaving their shop. When I have not had ANY issues since 2020 with my transmission. Avoid this place like the plague. Sheisty work being done here. Somehow dropped a drill bit above the oil pan aswell Notice closely around the bolts how their Sockets were removing the Dirt whenever they went to loosen the bolts.

These guys are awesome. I came in thinking I might need a whole new A/C compressor (that’s what another shop told me), but they took the time to actually diagnose it and found it was tied to compromised hoses. They got my A/C repaired and running great, and I did need a fair bit of other work — new battery, fluid swaps, and a full refresh — but everything they recommended made sense and was priced fairly. I also thought my brakes might be shot, but they explained it was just surface rust from sitting and that it would clear up with driving — and they were right. In a world where it feels like everyone’s trying to upsell or pad the bill, it was refreshing to deal with honest people who tell you what you need, do the work right, and charge a fair price. Huge thanks to Jerome, Austin, and their crew — I’ll definitely be coming back.

So far I’m very impressed with this company’s values, the employees customer service and the service I’ve received! I purchased my car Feb 2025 and have been dealing with the dealership as I like to stay with one shop and of course thought it was my only option with my warranty/service plan. Subpar at best, even tried the dealership next door for an oil change in Oct when my service advisor switched companies to them. Their service dept over torqued my oil plug and broke it…worst part-didn’t bother mentioning it and there’s no way they didn’t realize they did it! Anyways, the team at Ben White Automotive South 1st street location are very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough! I had been asking the dealership to check my plugs since right before 60k miles I have a turbo and currently at 66k miles and they kept telling me no, wait til 100k. I came into Ben White for an oil change and asked them to check the plugs for me and just as I thought since my car has a turbo I did in fact need to change my plugs. They of course found a handful of other issues that have recently been checked off green by BOTH dealerships. I really LOVE how they show you what’s wrong and what needs attention either in person or photos. Picture proof that they are actually inspecting everything and not just checking green down the list. And I really LOVE how they didn’t try to sell me unnecessary services. What impressed me most is their dedication to their customers and the offer to learn more about my vehicle!! I have a specialty engine which has specific parts and specifications and Jerome advised me that he is going to reach out to learn more about my engine to see if we can address and troubleshoot the rough idling that just started after this first spark plug replacement. On the way home I noticed that my car was running sluggish and then when I was stopped at my gate I heard an awful noise which turned out to be my motor shaking so hard it was vibrating the entire hood. The noise was the hood, thank God! So I brought it back and they immediately started troubleshooting and decided to just replace the plugs again thinking that maybe there was an issue with one of the plugs in the set provided by the manufacturer. Once replaced the second time, the power and torque returned but there’s still an different shake/vibration to the engine. Of course no fault to the mechanics, not the first challenging engine I’ve had, so for now just driving and monitoring it. Luckily I have an amazing warranty that I know now can be used here!!! I already scheduled my next appt and look forward to continuing business with this company!!

The staff were friendly, patience, and explained everything to me. I didn’t feel as I was being taken advantage of, they told me the pros and cons, and even found a problem that a previous automotive shop was supposed to fix and didn’t. They gave me advice on what to do and how to get them to pay for the work since it was still in warranty. They also have different financing options. I like that they take a 360 degree picture of your car once it gets into the shop. I would take my car back to them again.

I just wanted to say everyone at Ben white Automotive have been amazing! My car has been in four times in the last 3 1/2 to 4 weeks. She’s 14 years old and I know she needed some work. It seemed like she get some work and she needs some more work and then she gets some more work. We’re finally done and she runs like a brand new car which is amazing as I just retired and I was not in the position to buy a new car or did I want a new car just wanted my car! Thank you, Austin, Chris & Jerome For everything! I usually do my own work on my car, but this time I figured it was more than I can handle and they took complete care of me and my car! These folks are top-notch!
