Darren has done it again. Brought my car in for an oil change and they did a fluid top off for me. I haven’t had wiper fluid in months. Thanks guys!

I brought my PT Cruiser to them for years, and they helped keep it on the road by suggesting maintenance and repairs that actually made sense. A couple times another shop that I'd been to had told me something absolutely needed replacement, but then I called Mike, and he'd tell me it wasn't worth it in a car that old (and was absolutely right about it). Their pricing for anything that did need to get done was reasonable, and I never felt like I was being ripped off. I haven't been here for a couple years (ever since got rid of the PT Cruiser), but when my current car's maintenance agreement with the dealership comes to an end, I absolutely plan on giving Boulder Valley Automotive a call again.

Very pleased with the honesty of this place. I had taken my car to another place for an oil change. They did a checkup and said I needed to replace the lower control arms and the rear brake pads, which they could do that same day for over $1000. I said no and later took the car to Boulder Valley Automotive to see if this work was really necessary. The very friendly Boulder Valley person called at the promised time and said they had checked it out and driven it and no, there was no need to replace anything, and they didn't charge anything for determining that. I really appreciate their honesty and not taking advantage of me when I wasn't sure if there was a problem. I will certainly take my car to them when I need repairs in the future!

Been here twice with our old CTS. These folks are honest and find ways to make repairs cheaper, MUCH cheaper, than the dealership. They treat you really well. They do what they say will do, and often charge less than expected. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Mike and Curtis are 2 men that have worked on our car. They got us in and out so quickly. Their prices are extremely fair. I drive a 2003 Ford Explorer and it is in tip top shape after these guys worked on it and fixed it so well. They fixes my alternator and my starter! I wouldn't take my car anywhere else! Its a great shop! I could go on forever with praise for the mechanics that work there. I wish I knew all the guys names. I just want to thank them so much! I would bring them some cookies if it weren't for the crazy corona!

Boulder Valley Automotive has kept my Toyota 4Runner operating smoothly for well over 200,000 miles. They are really friendly and transparent about all the maintenance my vehicle has needed over the years. I recommend them to everyone.

We have used Boulder Valley Automotive for work on my daughter's car. She is a student at CU, and needed a local mechanic for some major work and routine service. They have been amazing to work with. Great customer service, honest and reliable. I highly recommend them, and we will continue to take her car there while she is in school.

Darren and his mechanics have taken great care of my car. He quotes fair prices ahead of time, and they’re committed to getting the job done. They don’t recommend anything unnecessary and aren’t scammy - a rare find.

Is it possible to love an auto repair shop? YES! I had my oil changed in the state that I previously lived in. That shop suggested a number of items to fix but I didn't have time to take care of them before I shipped my car. After settling down in Boulder, I took it to the guys at Boulder Valley Automotive and mentioned the repairs I needed. After assessing my car, they told me the repairs were completely unnecessary. I am blown away by how honest and transparent they are, and how they only charge for work that is truly necessary. They deliver great service and truly care about their customers. Thank you for being an awesome shop!!

I brought my low milage Prius in for an oil change as it has never seen a quick lube shop. The oil change was one of the most expensive ones I’ve gotten at $106. When I picked up my car, I was informed that my brakes would probably need to be replaced at the next oil change. I ended up having a battery issue in between oil changes and took it to Boulder Hybrids for the battery replacement. I had them check my brakes as well and Boulder Hybrids informed me that I had over an inch of brake pad left and wouldn’t need new brakes any time soon. I’ve added over 10k miles to my car since this experience and still do not need new brakes. I question if I would have gotten the same recommendation for needing new brakes if I was a male. Note: my experience with BVA occurred February 2024

My experience with Boulder Valley Auto was extremely disappointing. Darren provided misleading information and attempted to convince me I was mistaken. Despite his reassurances, he and his team admittedly overlooked significant issues with my vehicle, leading to a misdiagnosis that could have resulted in serious engine damage had I followed their advice. Ultimately, I had to have my car towed from their shop due to their negligence. When I brought this to the owner's attention, Curtis responded dismissively, offering a weak apology and downplaying the severity of the situation. I strongly recommend seeking reliable auto care elsewhere. If you find yourself in a similar situation, be sure to record everything, double-check their work, and don’t hesitate to seek a second opinion.

I would strongly advise against using Boulder valley auto. I’m deeply disappointed with the service we received. We trusted Darren, the manager, and Curtis, the owner, but the entire experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Despite clear expectations, both Darren and Curtis failed to meet even basic standards of service and accountability. When legitimate concerns were raised, Darren was dismissive, and Curtis was extremely unhelpful, offering no resolution or acknowledgment of their mistakes. It’s painfully obvious that their focus is on profit, not providing quality service. This shop lacks integrity and professionalism—save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for honest, reliable service.

Brought my car in 3 times because of the battery dying and they couldn't find the problem. They only charged me for diagnostic once (which was nice of them) but they couldn't find the drain on the battery and would make up reasons for it dying (i left the light on, the battery connection was bad, etc). Each time I went I still had the same problem after so I gave up eventually. My new jumper cables were also gone when I got the car back.

I will never take my car to another shop as long as i live in Colorado! Darren and BVA have gone above and beyond for me. They’ve saved me both time and money. As a girl who knows nothing about cars, it can be very hard to find a trustworthy shop that has your best interest at heart. They have always taken care of me and my car, you cannot find a better place with better people!

Showed up thursday evening and I had given no notice that I'd be coming in. I came in to show them my brakes that needed to be urgently replaced. They saw how important it was that I get them replaced asap for my own safety so they squeezed in time to help me quickly with my extremely short notice. They ordered the parts immediately and I left my car there on the spot at that time thursday evening and by mid day friday everything was already finished. I had them change all 4 rotors and all 4 brake pads and I even had an unusual request, I wanted them to paint my rusty brake calipers to make them look new again. They did that for me as well. They charged me less than they quoted me as well. Lifetime warranty on the brake pads too. Also the two guys I talked to both were very friendly with a good sense of humor. Just an amazing experience compared to what I delt with very recently with a different shop. If I need service again I will be back.

BVA Came to Boulder Valley automotive in part because of positive Google Reviews. I will not be going back unless it’s for them to fix what they broke. Had my spark plugs replaced back in March, but on my last visit, it was noted that my sparks plugs are worn and need to be replaced. Darren claimed he made a mistake. However, I don’t think I can trust this shop because they are either lying or incompetent. After receiving my car back from the same repair job that it was noted I would need new spark plugs, my check engine light came on after a few miles of driving. I didn’t want to pay for another diagnostic after paying $1200 for a new timing chain. Turns out all of the codes that were displaying from the check were because they broke my air filter housing, and someone there tried to zip tie it back on. When I went to look at the engine, my air filter, housing was hanging on by one clip, and a zip tie that didn’t hold, and could’ve easily fallen into the engine and more damage. See photos for zip tie, there are supposed to be 4 clips, but there is just 1. I have jerry-rigged my air filter housing so that it won’t fall into my engine with some exit tape, while I look for a new air-filter housing to have it replaced. Now that the air-filter housing is taped on, I am no longer receiving any codes from the check-engine light and it has remained off for the last 48 hours. These are the only people that have touched my car since I bought it. So there is no possible way other than their incompetence at not noticing that there was only one clip holding my air filter together, or someone broke it and tried to cover it up a.k.a. lying needless to say I’m very disappointed and the only way Boulder Automotive will get my business is if it is to fix the air filter housing which I’m not sure they are going to do. In short they tried to suggest I fix something I already paid for, and I’m not certain they did actually change my spark plugs, and they attempted to cover up them breaking a major part of my car. Don’t trust this shop.

I brought my car in last year and had a horrible experience with Boulder Valley Automotive. I was told it would be ~$2k to fix everything on my car, and since it had less than 100k miles, I decided that was worth it. However, after getting my car serviced, it came out making even more noises (that weren’t previously there), and I was then quoted an additional $1500 to fix additional problems that they “just noticed”. Had I known it would be $3500 for everything, I definitely wouldn’t have had it serviced. Also, after they replaced the brakes, they were squeaking/rubbing so loudly that I had to bring my car back and get them re-done as they had made a mistake when replacing them. I definitely don’t recommend this place after my experience.

Great service at very reasonable pricing. Many other shops would have charged us and tried to get us to do more work than what was necessary. Boulder Valley automotive was very honest and Has taken great care of us over the years! Highly recommend!

I recently brought my son’s car to Boulder Valley Automotive while he’s at college, and I couldn’t be happier with their service. They handled both routine maintenance and a few unexpected repairs quickly and professionally. The staff is friendly, trustworthy, and really takes the time to explain what’s needed. It’s such a relief knowing he has a dependable mechanic nearby. I highly recommend Boulder Valley Automotive to anyone looking for honest, reliable automotive service. We’ll definitely keep going back as long as he’s in school.
