On the plus side, David is a good and knowledgeable mechanic. They have done work on several of my cars and usually did not have an issue other than the communication being a bit slow at times. However, I had an issue with a transmission they had sent out to get rebuilt, which turned into a nightmare. They essentially put the total responsibility and blame on the transmission builder who apparently did not do the job he was paid to do - even though I was their customer and paid them directly. They also blamed me as the customer, for driving the vehicle and then for taking it into a shop when I broke down in the middle of nowhere, only to find out the transmission job I paid for wasn’t done. They also made accusations against the new transmission shop where my truck ended up, calling them dishonest. This was a shop they directed me to go to. Basically in their eyes, everyone else was at fault except themselves. I waited for weeks as they told me to relax and that they were taking care of it. I believe that David and Chrissy wanted to do something to fix it, but nothing ever manifested. After five weeks of waiting, I ended up contacting and getting a replacement transmission through the original builder directly, and paying out of pocket for the R&R and other shop costs, just to get back to square zero. I would not recommend Bruce European Motors at this point.

We had a Landover discovery sport with a broken crankshaft pulley. Another mechanic quoted a crazy quote, took it to David and he saved us a $1,000, and fixed it in one day. Further he checked everything else and the car was fine and runs great. Really honest and trustworthy mechanic, definitely recommend

I read a less than positive review from 4 months prior to this review which is roughly the time I had my car in service for an extensive rebuild of a complicated M3. I had a great experience and David was outstanding. My car runs better than it has in 2 years. Sounds amazing and runs strong. Per the prior comment from 4 months ago, parts were the reason why my car was delayed and David and team communicated thoroughly through the entire process. When I contacted other shops, they had quoted with delays up to 3x-4x as long. 2011 E9X M3 - I would trust and recommend David to anyone that asks. This is a complicated engine and he has rebuilt several. Taking my car back for more maintenance. Was looking for the address and noticed a negative review and was surprised. If anything, I've been a pain to them and they've been understanding the entire way. Hence, I wrote this review to help anyone considering Bruce European Motors and David / Team. Please give them a call or text.

I had a horrible situation where I took my vehicle to get the battery changed at an auto parts store. They caused about 2k in damages and were refusing the liability. Bruce was half a mile away. I drove my vehicle there and he very cautiously diagnosed what went wrong He documented everything for me so that I can put in a claim and within days they couldnt refuse the damages they caused and accepted the liability. Bruce put my car back together again and runs better than ever. I highly recommend this business.

Extremely happy I took my Audi here, David was able to trace the leak and repair my Audi AC for a fraction of the cost of another shop’s estimate. I had taken my Audi Q7 to 2 different shops to fix the Air Cond a total of 4 times and spent over $2000, and each time after a few months it would blow warm air again. The next estimate was to replace the evaporator core under the dash (20+ hours of labor) for over $3000. A friend recommended Bruce European, I heard he was good but was not near my house.

Needle in a haystack!!! Words can’t fully describe the satisfaction I have with Bruce European motors…. I took my car in assuming the issue myself. I dropped my car off and got a call later, Dave informed me the real issue and that diagnosis saved me a TON of headache and money. Dave told me they had to overnight the part from the manufacturer. My vehicle was done within hours of the part arriving! Seemed instant. Dave and his team are master mechanics and KNOW what they are doing. This guy can work on these cars blindfolded! HIGHLY recommend these guys to work on your car. I’ve never had a better experience getting my car worked on all around. It’s a great feeling having a mechanic you can trust. David at Bruce European was a life savior! I took my 2012 mini to the Stealership and they quoted me 14k in repairs! I posted the estimate paperwork I got from the dealership on the mini misfitsFC group page on facebook and David responded to my post! Telling me to come swing by his shop and he would beat the quote. Not only did he beat the quote of 14k he saved me 10k and my mini is running better than when k got her! Very fair! Very honest! I consider him a mini brother now! Thank you so much! He completed the work in a total of two days! Beyond a badass mechanic! Definitely would recommend!! Ten fold!

I was in need of a mechanic to get my car fixed before I left town for work. From the time I spoke to Dave he was very helpful in making sure my car was fixed before I left. After two extremely poor experiences with mechanics, I had my car towed to Bruce European in Clearwater. Wow, what a Godsend! This guy is the real deal. He immediately went to work, looking for parts and putting together a price plan to fix what was wrong with my car. I had a long list! After speaking with me, he carefully went about the job of replacing my brakes, shocks, spark plugs, fixing my annoying windshield wiper fluid warning, fixing my ailing tire and not only that, he called to say he wasn’t exactly 100% satisfied with the safety of the brakes so he wanted to keep the car an extra day to drain the fluid again and make sure that everything was running top-notch. I’m telling you when I picked up that car it was like I was driving a new car. Smooth as gravy. And the good gravy with no lumps 😂! I want to thank you again Mr. Bruce for all the time, care, work and attention that you put into this car. Also, I wanna say that when you deal with mechanics or shop owners, you don’t always get the added bonus of a person who has a decent personality, but not so with Mr. Bruce. He cares about the work he performs; he’s calm which you need when you’re upset about your car and most importantly, he is concerned about your safety! Five stars

Absolutely the place to have your cars needs met. Bruce gave me prompt one day service on a multitude of issues with my ml 350. Professional service and his pricing was more than fair. I had gotten an estimate just for one part of this job from another mechanic on Missouri Ave and the estimate was more than European Motors charged me for the whole job.
