I had walked by Carfix numerous times with my dog and needed some repair work, oil change and inspection on a few of our cars so I thought I would give them a call. They were very nice when I called and Elliot fit both cars in the same day to help me out. They made several suggestions when I picked the cars up and the pricing seemed very fair.

My husband brought our car in to replace the brake rotors and pads on the front tires. After the completion of the job, there was a consistent squeaking noise and was worse as time went on. He came back in to get the brakes re-looked at and was told it would be an additional cost to even check the replaced breaks, which he declined to do so. My husband went to another mechanic, where it was discovered that the newly replaced break pads on the front right wheel were not lubricated and causing the squeaking noise that we heard. It was upsetting that they did not offer to double check their work, without additional cost, and did not remedy the situation.

This was a new place offered to me for warranty service. Elliot (and Tim) was an amazing service advisor with timely updates and upfront with all aspects of the work abd expectations. The mechanics must be amazing too, as the vehicle I picked up was vastly improved from when I dropped it off. At one point, Elliot even went on a test drive with me to see/hear the symptoms of the car. I would not hesitate to have any vehicles serviced at this facility.

I've gotten a few services here and they are always reasonable and have explained the problem, showed it to me, and then explained the replacement/fix. Today I had another shop tell me I needed to replace my breaks so I brought it here for a second opinion. They inspected it (for free) and let me know that my brakes were fine. I would highly recommend Carfix.

I am so late in writing this review! I received EXCELLENT service from this CarFix location a few weeks ago. Elliot and other employees went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. They walked me through exactly what needed to be repaired and explained how they arrived at their pricing. They showed me videos and photos of the issues in my vehicle. They offered to schedule all pickups and drop-offs through Uber with no additional cost to me. At no point did I feel like they were trying to pull one over on me or get me to needlessly spend. I left here with more knowledge on my vehicle and a very positive impression of CarFix! My car drives like a dream now. A HUGE thank you to the entire CarFix staff! Tim and the team at Carfix on Hillsborough Street went above and beyond for me today for my car repair needs. I came in for a simple free estimate, and received an in-depth diagnosis of my car's transmission issues, excellent customer service, multiple repair options at different price points, and plenty of advice. After having my car inspected and even test driven, Tim called me personally to walk me through all of the issues encountered during the inspection, explaining everything in layman's terms which helped me to understand clearly. Though I didn't decide in that moment how/when to proceed with the transmission replacement my car needed, Tim handled my case with absolutely integrity and care. I had an excellent experience with Carfix Auto Repair & Tires on Hillsborough Street, even though I wasn’t physically there. My daughter, who attends NC State, brought her car in for a flat tire. When they removed the tire, the team discovered serious issues with the control arm and ball joint assembly. Because I wasn’t local, they took the time to record clear videos and walk me through the problem step by step, pointing out exactly what was wrong so I could see firsthand that it was a legitimate safety concern. I really appreciated that level of transparency and professionalism. After that, they went a step further and researched the vehicle’s maintenance history and manufacturer-recommended services so I could be confident the car was being maintained properly and safely. Throughout the process, they were professional, polite, and very easy to work with. As a parent with a child away at school, that kind of communication and care means a lot. I highly recommend this team and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

10/10 job, guys. Highly recommend them and I will return. My brakes went out just down the road from this shop. After seeing brake fluid leak from my rear hub, I called Carfix up and spoke to Tim. When I got the car to their shop, Tim was extremely professional he communicated expectations effectively. They even called me an Uber home. Over the next couple days, they communicated a ton about their findings on my car, recommended repairs, sent and invoice with pictures and videos of issues, offered financing, and once things were squared away and they had a green light, fixed my car very quickly.

They confirmed recommended repairs and went beyond that finding a couple of additional items that were important and had not been found previously. Love this place! Very honest and reliable shop with very friendly service. Elliot kept me informed about my vehicle throughout the entire process and explained everything in detail. I was provided with a full online service report that was kept updated while my car was in the shop, and a very detailed invoice afterwards explaining everything that was done. I took my car in to get my codes read originally and Elliot and his team evaluated my whole car to ensure that everything was in working order, and fixed the things that weren’t. I talked to Tim he was very helpful extremely professional and patient. I asked a lot of questions to the point I got irritated with how many but not once did he show a sense of inconvenience or irritation. Very transparent with the work that would be done. And unusually understanding of my expectations. Not pushy at all. Reasonable prices. Steve was helpful as well. Not sure what tech worked on my car but my ac is finally working after a year.
