Needed my alternator replaced on my car, and based on the vehicle I drive it’s a pretty labor intensive repair. When I brought my vehicle by, the shop told me how much the new alternator costs, and broke down all the steps it would take to replace it so they could give me a reasonable quote. I highly appreciated the transparency, as well as the urgency to get my car fixed up. Repair went well and I couldn’t be more thankful for such an honest repair shop. Use these guys if you’re in the area, they do great work!

Be careful! I've been to this place before and they did a good job for a fair price. But something changed. I took my car in to get a new door handle because my old one, which was chrome, fell off. They told me they couldn't find the same kind and said I had to buy a black one for $477. That's a lot of money for a handle that doesn't match my car, so I said no thanks. When I went to pick up my car, they made me pay $168 for looking at my door handle. That's ridiculous – I am avoiding this place like the plague in the future. You should do the same.

Wow I am so happy and thankful that I found this garage! The service was phenomenal and they helped me quickly and smoothly. Mr. Kemp came out to my location and helped me with a battery exchange after completely a check as I thought it was the starter. They gave me a fair price and quote. They were very transparent in their pricing and ETAs. I will be back if I have anymore car problems and I will recommend them to others.

Review update: Seems like this place is going downhill. They have changed managers at least 3 times that I know of in the last 2 years and the customer service with the most recent manager was not good at all. Unfortunately he was rude, answers the phone with a “hello” (doesn’t state his name or the business name) and never apologized for their faulty work on our truck that they had to fix. Sadly, will be taking our business elsewhere now 🙁 Review Update: I’ve been coming to Downtown auto for a few years now and every experience between oil changes and mechanic work has been a great one. I decided to make this my go to shop when I had the privilege of the previous manager Steven taking really good care of my car. Now Eric is the manager and he seems to be running a great shop, very courteous and diligent. First review: Steven the manager was AWESOME to work with! He was very detailed and meticulous, he worked with my Scion XA AC issues and gave me a very fair price and a solid guarantee that if they didn’t fix it the first time, they would make sure I was taken care of until the job was done. He did a lot of research and found the solution to the AC problem along with the mechanics doing their job of investigating the issue. I’ve been having an AC problem with my Scion for 2 years (and have gone to other mechanics to try and fix it and have spent around 6 visits and over $1,000 trying to fix elsewhere). In the end it seems Steven solved the problem by using a certified Toyota part. I really appreciate all the hard work Steven and the mechanics put in to solve my problem. Thank you so much - ya'll have a customer for life!

We brought my 2008 car in because my windows were acting up and my engine light was on. As usual, Eric was extremely helpful and patient with me. he took the time to explain the problems my car was having. The staff here is always honest and genuinely care about their customers. They did their very best to be as quick as possible and updated me throughout the day. Overall, impecable experience. We love having a shop we can trust so close to our house.

The place is nice, clean & professional looking. Here is my BIG issue. I brought car in b/c air was not cooling they got me right in with several empty bays, I now get why. Front desk told they would look at it, they solved problem & called me to desk in about 45 minutes. I was informed they added 4oz of A/C fluid (the expensive stuff), Then I got a bill for $275! No diagnosis & communication to me on what was found, what repair would cost they just did it & asked for payment. Who does that giving no estimate on repair, just doing it unauthorized? $160 in labor to add 4oz? I get coolant is expensive but $160 in labor? I made a couple calls & this should have cost under 1/2 that at other authorized dealers, 2 guys even laughed at me. Needless to say I won’t be back nor will any of my contacts who I let know of my experience. Give me a marginal waiting room without gouging me on price. Should you use this business make sure you authorize any services so at least you are aware in advance you are overpaying.

Came to Downtown Garage after the dealership said I needed new front brakes with only 27k miles on my car. Tim was very friendly, gave my car a look & turns out everything looks good. The front desk guy was cool. I went there because my tire was flat and I had a new tire that I needed to have put on. I was the only vehicle there at the time, it took more than 30 minutes to have the tire put on. I advised Bam Bam that it was still saying that the new tire was low. He insisted that I just drive. I did as I was instructed to do. By the time I made it home the tire was completely flat. I had to have my vehicle towed to discount tire. Where it was discovered that the tire had a hole and a previous patch work. I went back to the shop and spoke with the front desk guy. He said there’s no way my tire could’ve been swapped. I have the receipt and everything for the brand new tire that was purchased from discount tires. I asked him did bam bam not inspect the tire before putting the tire on. He indicated that he don’t believe it was inspected. I strongly believe that my tire was swapped out for a used tire.

I was looking for an auto shop to change my oil and do some general maintenance on my car since I was going on a road trip from TX to FL. I sent a message on Sunday to Downtown Garage and a couple other places. They were all closed, but Downtown Garage was the only to respond on Monday morning. I am glad I chose them. They completed the job in a timely manner and did exactly what I asked. The pricing was excellent and they didn't try to sell me on anything. They actually said my Ford was in great condition! I'd highly recommend Downtown Garage!!

These guys not only fixed my tire but their genuine care to fix the situation was so genuine and a hard thing to come by nowadays. They quickly took my car in and took care of it. This garage is incredible. I used to hate getting my car serviced at the dealership because it was always such a challenge to even get an appointment. These guys are amazing. I rented a uhaul trailer to drive some things from a storage shed halfway across the country. When I got to the storage place next door, my rear truck tire had a huge screw sticking out and was hissing away. I rolled the tire next door and they could not have been more kind and courteous. Quick, helpful and polite, these are some good and honest people. Thank you so much for helping me on my travels. Best to this shop and these folks.

I took my car in for a flat tire and they patched it. I got home and it was flat again within a few hours. I got it back to the shop and they said it hadn’t sealed properly but patched it again (for free the second time, which I did appreciate). I was told if it didn’t keep that time, I’d need new tires. The same tire went flat yet again, but I took it to the shop my dad always uses and they fixed it for real. Said there was no need for new tires, it just hadn’t been done properly, twice. Now it’s been fine for over a week. Sadly I cannot in good conscience recommend this shop after that experience. I will say, they were very kind and I think they meant well, but it. Abused me a heck of a lot of trouble and I wasted $40 and my time. Unfortunate.

I was driving my jeep down the road and my breaks decided to fail and give up on me I took it to my original Mechanic and he wasn't able to fix it yet so he told me these guys would do it and won't screw me over....I took my jeep out there and with in an hour they was working on my jeep and fixing it fast and the best they could!!! I was impressed with how fast and how great they did the job I will be coming here much much more!!! They got me back on the road safe and sound thanks to them!!!excelent service!!!! Professional place with the customer in mind. They gave me accurate information about my vehicle and ensured that it met regulatory requirements. Plus they have a nice and comfortable waiting area unlike other places, I don’t want to be hearing everything that’s being done to my car like other places.
