Took my car in to get fix and instead they somehow broke it so it wouldn’t start. Then either didn’t know they did (incompetence) or denied they did (malfeasance.) They broke my car alarm fixing the brakes…rendering the car inoperable to the point they had to install a kill switch just to fix it. Didn’t offer a rental car even though the repair took almost two weeks and wouldn’t let me speak to another manager (kept pretending he “just stepped out for the day” every time I asked) and didn’t offer to pay for the alarm. Unless you want an auto shop that breaks you car completely. Wouldn’t go here. They’re mostly focused on upselling tires and getting you to sign up for their credit card than operating with reliability and honesty.

I hit a muffler while traveling on the freeway in the middle of a 4.5 hour commute for a state finals gymnastics tournament. The clerk and technician were both extremely helpful and got me back on the road quickly and efficiently. What could’ve devastated an 11 year old’s entire competition season, was made possible by these employees. I am extremely grateful for their help when I was turned down by 3 other places. The tire was replaced quickly and efficiently, allowing me to continue the journey and make it there on time. It handled extremely well and made the entire return home trip that night in pouring rain, smooth and safe. Thank you Oakland Firestone!!!

Visited Firestone for a battery change. The team is currently short staffed, so the wait time was a bit long. However, the process itself was very quick once they got to it. Gerald was exceptionally friendly and nice, which made the longer wait much easier.

Please do not go here. Please look at the BBB reviews, and see how they handle problems. This location took in my car for a brakes in May of 2024. I noticed they were screeching, again, in November 2024. I was getting my oil changed and they noticed something wrong with my brake pads. I called Firestone, and they asked to bring it in, but they wanted to charge me, not just for labor, but for other things I never asked for. I tried to resolve with corporate, and with the owners of this location, and they would ignore my phone calls, and email messages. It's been a full year later and I guess they thought I would just disappear. I had to get it fixed with OEM parts from a local dealership, and noticed they didn't even do the installation right. My case with them had been just fully ignored. So not only did I pay nearly $2k for their service, but paid $3k somewhere else to fix their horrible job. They're not only negligent, but their bad service could cost you your life. If this location is reading this, aside from being horrible and trying to avoid blame, brakes are not a joke or something to just run away from. All of this could have been easily avoided, had you not had been greedy, and just admit that a mistake you'd done. You're lucky I didn't die on the road.

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change online the day before and was helped by Gerald after a few minutes wait. He answered all my questions when I asked about some of the promotions offered on the Firestone website and he took the time to go through some of the fine print with me. Also, after a misunderstanding about one of my tires which needed patching, Gerald made up for it in a way that I found most agreeable. I would happily return for any future services my car would require.

Unfortunately, my experience was very negative. I had an appt at Firestone in Oakland on Sat 2/28 at 11am for a 4 tires to be replaced, wiper blade replacement, and then alignment done. I was told that the car should be done by 2pm that day. I hadn't heard any updates from Firestone. At 3:345pm, I called to get an update about my car. I was told that it wasn't done but that it should be done by 4-4:30pm. I arrived at 4pm only be told that my car had yet to be worked on yet. The employee was very friendly but was alone, needing to work on the cars, and manage customers. To be clear, my complaint is not at all about the person that was there. My car was done at 5:35pm. The alignment wasn't completed and the wipers weren't replaced. It was awful.

As an Oakland local, I genuinely avoid criticizing neighborhood businesses, but my experience at Firestone on Broadway in Oakland was so disappointing I couldn't stay quiet. A friend suggested I try them, so I brought in my Mazda for a second opinion and a full inspection, hoping they might beat the dealership on price. I booked the 8 AM Saturday slot (the first of the day) yet was still asked to wait outside. I went home and waited for the promised midday update. By 1 PM, with no communication at all, I called in myself. The response was extremely poor; no one explained the inspection findings, and every question I asked was deflected with "check the email," which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Honestly, I wish I could get a refund for the $49.99 Complete Vehicle Inspection Plus because the whole interaction made me feel like an inconvenience once they realized I wasn't committing to extra repairs. I felt invisible. The moment that really shocked me was when the service specialist returned my car already running, with the hood not even latched. Huge safety red flag. I had to back up on my own just to drive out safely. That should never happen at an auto shop, no exceptions. My verdict: this Firestone location is chaotic, unclean, overpriced, and and not a place I'd trust with meaningful work. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

The location is very convenient as it’s close to my workplace, but I’d come back regardless, even if it weren’t. Planning to come here for new tires when it’s time, too. Gerald has also assisted me previously with brake problems by giving me the best advice even when unable to service me due to my warranty. As a woman, it was so refreshing to have another woman at the counter. And the woman who helped me was so friendly and helpful! The technician squeezed me in before a longer service so I didn't have to wait very long, which is really appreciated. And the tech was able to patch my tire even though the nail was very close to the tire edge, and he could have decided to make me pay more to get a new tire, so I appreciate his honesty and hard work. The patch was $30, which felt reasonable. I will definitely come back again when I need work done. Thank you!

If I could give this place -1 star I definitely would. The customer service from Jessica and some of the staff is unbelievable. The way I was undermined by the staff is unbelievable. My service was incomplete. I had an horrible experience and I’ve expressed my experience to the service supervisor to be called later and told “ it didn’t happen how I said it happened”, again undermined. I must say I will never bring my vehicle to this location again. After the service my lights were still on the dash. I was treated like a criminal. Which later had me very upset. I will definitely continue to bring my vehicle to the dealer

Wow! Their sales and service team members are great! They fixed my tire in record time, even with a full load of customers, and I didn’t have an appointment. It was even completed before the promised time. And Jessica, their Service Advisor, is a 11 out of 10. She helped tremendously on an oddball issue, and has amazing patience. I definitely recommend this store. My technician was great too, (didn’t get his name though) answered all my questions, and took great care with my car. p.s. The voice message says the store’s closed, but press 0 and it gets you to the Oakland store. It’s disconcerting, but once you get to the store, you’ll be in good hands!

When I called and made an appointment for an oil change, I was told I need to wait 1 hour. When I checked in my car at the appointment time, I was promised 1.5 hour waiting. I waited at the lobby for 1.5 hour, no technician even started working my car. When I checked with the counter staff, I was given the choice either to continue waiting or take my car back without service. No apology at all. Their triple promise includes Right On Time. This really disappointed me.
