Rip off! When I called to see when my vehicle would be ready I was told a price double what was originally quoted. I eventually was able to talk the owner down to $100 over the quoted price and he acted like he was doing me a favor. Do NOT use this mechanic!

Great customer service. Got my vehicle in for a valve stem replacement. Was able to do it the next day as they were busy. I found that they had better prices then the the other auto repairs in the area for my vehicles particular issue and future services it needs.

I approached them with a specific budget and they worked hard to offer the most they could, while considering what my truck needed and ensured the most with what I had to work with. Great, honest, and hard working people. I called them today, desperately trying to find somewhere to patch my tire, and they weren't able to answer at first so I hung up without leaving a message. They cared to call back anyway and ask how they could help. I was able to get my tire fixed the same day and they also let me know about some other things that were good and could be improved about the status of my car. Thanks guys!

Great experience! I had actually bought a Groupon for an oil change & tire rotation. Their location is great. While you're waiting you can bop on down to The Avenue. The employees that I met were kind and cheerful! And they washed/vacuumed my car on the house. Will definitely be coming back for all my future car needs!

Came in for a tune up and to change my tires. I am very impressed with their prices and diagnostics. The dealer told me I needed to clean my break pads so I asked Hampden to check it out for me and they opened up my break pads and showed me that there was no cleaning necessary. Good to know that they didn’t just do the job even though I didn’t need it. I’m happy to find an honest shop around the area.

Professional and quick service, honest feedback and suggestions, and upfront pricing. We did a price check on our car needs, and this location was the most reasonable. They did not rip us off or try to convince us that we needed more than we actually needed like other locations nearby. They provided detailed information on the condition of the car and why. For example, he explained that Jiffy Lube gave us the cheapest and low-quality oil and filter for our car. In other places, they don’t tell you anything and if you ask how was it, they say “uh. It went good”. We appreciate that they provided us transparency with our car, a rare find!

If you are a woman alone DO NOT COME HERE. I am not a baltimore native, I moved here alone for school. I had a problem with my car overheating and it breaking down on me. I took it here and after two days they said that I had an issue with my head gasket. That my coolant and oil was mixing and leaking. They said I would need a whole new engine and that it’ll be ~$6,000+. Me not really knowing about cars I was willing to pay, because I need my car to commute, but my father told me to go and get a second opinion. When I came to pick up my car they seemed irritated and said I wouldn’t be able to go far, which I was able to drive 10 mins back home. I knew what they were saying wasn’t true because yes my car did have a leak but it was leaking a clear liquid (coolant), not oil, which is like dark brown. Anyways I took it to another mechanic and they said nothing about the head gasket at all!!

I had a very close friend have his car worked on here, a subaru to be specific. Vehicle had a bad timing chain. He was charged well over the estimated repair cost, got his car back with jb weld on coolant hoses, wood screws threw the coolant overflow, broken connectors, loose bolts the list goes on. I personally spoke with him, I am a mechanic for over 13years and he had no answers for any question I had. Labor time issues. Over charging on prices issues. All the issues with the engine repair. And to top it off my friend never got a repair order or receipt for any repairs. If you need brainless work done aka brakes oil change etc, sure he's OK. If it's diagnostics or any indepth repair please reconsider and have it addressed by a skilled mechanic. When I arrived there was young children in the shop smoking weed. It's a total circus. I cannot do a 0 star review so he gains 1 star throught this whole crap shoot

I have always been wary of auto places as a single woman who self admittedly doesn’t “do” cars. But when I came in and got my car looked at, Sam showed me every piece that needed work, explained why, and showed me where the parts were worn down. The price and time estimate were also exact. This made me feel very securely that I was not being ripped off. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs auto care in the area!

New location (directly across the street from Fox45) is equally convenient and the service is still outstanding! I recently had my car serviced here for the third time over a few years and can share that this is an honest and hardworking mechanic. Great/honest cost for the work and clear communication. He just moved and is still setting up shop but got my car on the road after thorough diagnostic and quick repair. Recommend!

I came here off a recomendation from a coworker, and it led to $3,000 dollar decifict. This place really taught me a lesson that if you ask fo quick and drity, the quality is abismal. My first visit they did great work, quick, and very cheap. The owner seemed so kind and helpful, I went to have the work inspected by a mechainic I trust and they said "they did a lot of work, and it looks good". In my mind that was enough. For the next few month i went exclusivly to Hampden Auto Care. In Feb and March of 2025, I went there 3 times, leaving my car for 4 days, even though I needed it for work. They kept asking for more time even as a made an appiontment a week prior. All the work they did, I had to replace in less than a year because, they didn't seal my enigne properly, give me shoddy enigne mounts and put me through a wild loop. I came back one time to pick up my car, and when I got there it wasn't in the shop, I asked the mechinics where it was, and they said they took my car, without my permission, to the store to buy beers. I immedialy called the owner to have it brought back to me. This place truly makes going to the mechanic painful, your trusting your car which is a big asset and tool you use on a day to day basis. To people you don't know, who stand to profit from your ignorance. And they sure profitted, the $3,000 is the money i paid them, didn't include the $1,500 i've been paying to get it all fixed properly. Learn from my mistakes, save your money, and if you do go get a second opinion.
