Tim installed an AC system on my beater 2002 honda civic DX stock last summer. I called pretty much all service centers and was told that he was the only one they know that does it in the area. The guy could have asked pretty much whatever he wants and I would have paid it since he's the only that can do it but no. He quoted me a very reasonable price (200 I think) and completed the install like a dream. Tim is a stand up guy, will go out on a limb when I say the best and last real honest car mechanic in Rockford.

I called in advance to request an estimate to confirm availability since I had to travel for most three hours to get to this location. They agreed. Employees started two arguments, despite my calling in advance, to confirm that they would be able to do an estimate. (I did not demand it be fixed immediately)

We were on our way to Galena for a family ski trip when our car broke down. The guys at Hytec were quick to diagnose the problem and fix the problem while we waited in about an hour. They were great to work with and very professional. We would highly recommend their service. Wish we had a reliable mechanic like this back home.

Since the 1st time I dropped off my Honda CRV they have been nothing but professional & informative. The waiting area has great ambiance. 1st time I been to a mechanic shop and was Not scared to use the bathroom. Now I have a GMC car and they have taken great care of him. I can't wait to drop of my '93 F150 to them in the summer and see the magic they perform on him.

My experience, without a doubt, has been absolutely wonderful... I've found that you don't have to go to a big dealership to get the exact same quality of workmanship and service. They are friendly, courteous and fair in their pricing. My vehicle needed front wheel bearings on both sides. Dealership $500 per side, Hytech $200 per side. So you do the math, $1000 versus $400.... Yeah my thoughts exactly...

A big shout out to Tim and his team at Hytech Automotive. I took my vehicle thinking it would need a motor swap which would cost thousands of dollars. Tim said he wanted to tear into the motor and look at it first. Turns out the damages were not as excessive as I thought, they made the repairs and he saved me thousands of dollars. They screen my calls because the owner finds me annoying and apparently doesn’t like me. Even though I pay my bill, I don’t argue about the bill, and even told them the last time I was there they under charged me by over 200 dollars because they forgot to bill me for extra labor that had been done. Apparently I should have done like 95% of his other customers and kept my mouth shut and taken my business elsewhere.
