Feb 2024 Always great service from front of the house with Dave to the back! Mechanics are very thorough. Honest to work with from my experience for the past few years. I was able to get my car in to have it looked it, even though it was somewhat last minute (apologies!). We arranged for service time in the same week. Communication was clear on timeframe needed. This time around had my rear brake pads + engine filter replaced at a reasonable price, cheaper than the dealership. They have earned my trust! Super nice people!

Excellent service! They know what your car needs, and how to get it done! Very down to earth and very fair. Definitely recommend for the Japanese made automobiles!

Japanese auto was the best experience I've ever had with an auto shop. They were professional, honest, friendly, and most of all SAVED me a little over $400. They were also very quick and communicated very well, and did not do any unnecessary work. I do not often leave reviews for places, and if I do it's almost always a negative review. But I seriously could not recommend this place enough! I would recommend this place to everyone!

The staff were professional and personable. They assured me since I only drive grandkids locally, that coming back in a year was sufficient. No pressure to buy service I didn't need. I was impressed by this honesty as well as the great work done on my 2017 Prius. Happy to recommend.

Highly recommend- I showed Dave my quote from the Toyota dealership for servicing and he walked through all the things they recommended, he thoroughly explained what I actually needed done (which was less than half of what they recommended), AND offered better prices. I will definitely be using Japanese Auto for my next car servicing!

I recommend it here! They were very kind, honest, and communicative. I went here to get a second opinion after a chain auto repair shop wanted me to get several things repaired/replaced for almost $2,500 and indicated to me that I needed to take care of it asap. The guys at Japanese auto services took a look at it and kindly explained to me that the issues weren’t actually urgent and most of them weren’t even issues at all. They answered all of my questions, provided me with good information, and saved me a LOT of money. Highly recommend these guys! I’ll definitely be taking my car back.

Great independent shop, I will be coming back for future service needs. Took my Subaru in after the dealer told me it was time to replace my brake pads. This shop took a look and let me know there was still significant life in them, and the cost if I chose to replace was reasonable.

Brought my Honda for a second opinion on a suspension problem and discovered that the fix for it was much simpler than what the dealership suggested. Japanese Auto repaired it to my satisfaction and saved a boatload of money. Very efficient, professional and low pressure. Thanks!

Took my Subaru Forester to Japanese Auto Professional Service today for the first time and was very happy with the personable service, quick turnaround time and the price! I doubt I will ever go back to the dealership again. So refreshing to find a good honest mechanic!

These guys are the best! I've gone to them for a lot of work (brakes, steering/front end, fluid changes, diagnostics, etc) and each time they're fast and precise with their work and they give comprehensive and accurate quotes. Better prices than dealerships and most other independent shops. The icing on the cake is how chill Dave and all the techs are. A few times now I've called them preparing for car shopping and months of eating ramen to follow, then by 3:45 pm my car feels better than ever and I'm not bankrupt. Thanks, guys!!

We have been very satisfied with all of the service work done on our Honda vehicles. They are honest, knowledgeable, efficient, and they have never tried to talk us into unnecessary repairs. They have earned our trust and we highly recommend them.

This is an honest place, I come in here and they will be transparent with what needs to be done and what doesn't. They will even recommend me to hold off on an unnecessary procedure. In the past, a dealership will recommend me a repair; I come in here for a 2nd opinion and they will tell me it's not needed or charge me much lower for the service. I feel compelled to keep my old Civic Hybrid or buy another Japanese import due to this place. Thanks again.

I was here for an oil change with inspection. First of all I believe this place is overpriced. The price is even higher than the dealership. Secondly they forgot to put the skid plate back. I have to get a new one from ebay and install it myself afterwards.

In Ann Arbor this little shop is where you'll find timely, honest Japanese automotive repairs. If they cannot do something, they'll let you know upfront and forthright. For example, they don't do tire repairs or replacement so they referred me to someone, Firestone in downtown Ann Arbor near Huron street.

I won't go here anymore and do not recommend it. The last couple times I went, the person at the front desk was incredibly rude for literally no reason. Also, they decided to steal my money by charging me for new wiper blades without asking me if I wanted them changed and just having this on my bill when I went to pay (this happened twice). I also believe their work isn't very high quality.

On holiday break car displaying multiple warning lights saying don't drive. As it turns out battery cell was defective . I received an early return call and was scheduled ASAP. Towed in (Before I could call in JAP called with correct diagnosis and was told all was fixed, battery under warranty.) (Also learned JAP likes doughnuts - you can buy them for the crew - a block away!)

Fantastic service! Needed a last minute drop-off to address a concerning issue before heading out on the road for a long drive that same day. Dave was super helpful and took the time to explain everything without it feeling intimidating. Quick, thorough, and great location if you’re around central campus. Folks seem happy to be there, so it looks like their workers and customers (and their cars) are very well cared for.

Have two beautiful mint 2004 and 1999 Toyotas. No rust. Wouldn't even take a look - seem full of doo-doo. Someone else who actually appreciates these perfections of engineering will help. In business as long as you are you seemed rude and untrustworthy in the short time we spoke. The cars will outlast your business funny enough, especially because your old school knowledge that would actually work here will quickly and increasingly become outdated and unusable for modern cars. Would hate to be inheriting your business!
