I really wanted to like my experience here. After extensive review of mechanics in the Arvada/Westminster area Lake Arbor popped up repeatedly as the place to go. I was charged over $200 for a diagnostic of a check engine light with no repairs, and was returned my car with a newly broken cruise control cable. Lake Arbor only took accountability for the broken cable when I called to inquire what happened to it. The expensive diagnostic did not include an exhaust smoke test as I explicitly requested when scheduling. I had confirmed on the phone that Lake Arbor had the facilities to do this prior to making the appointment, and that was a determining factor in my choice to go here. The cost of the diagnostic would not have been a big deal if they had completed the requested testing they had confirmed they could do. Additionally i was quoted over $1000 for labor that may solve my check engine light, and an additional $1400 if the first idea didn’t work. I took the car in a second time explicitly requesting a smoke test and it was still not completed. The only reason this review is 2 stars and not 1 is because the forward facing customer service was kind, helpful, organized and understanding. The rest of the business, please do better.

Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck is the only mechanic I go to in the Westminster, CO area. Over the years, they have proven to be honest and transparent. I have used them for preventative maintenance and emergency repair on multiple vehicles. They tell me what needs to be done and when I say 'I will do these things and you do these', they don't hassle me about it and get the job done. Today I had a local big box tire shop tell me my recently aligned vehicle (aligned by Lake Arbor about a month ago) was out of alignment. Instead of having the tire shop do it, I brought it back to Lake Arbor and they checked it for me again. Everything came back in good shape (didn't need the alignment that I was told it needed), although Lake Arbor did make a slight adjustment in one area just to be sure. They did this at no charge since I had just had it aligned. Sure - auto repair can be expensive and bad news is never good, but I trust Lake Arbor to do the right thing and will continue to go back to them. If you haven't tried them out, you should.

My 2013 Ram recently passed 100,000 miles. Since I tow travel trailers I wanted its coolant, transmission, diff and transfer case fluids replaced. I also asked that the exhaust manifolds be checked due to previous issues with their bolts breaking, a known issue with the 5.7’s. Sure enough, several bolts were broken, so I opted to have updated manifolds installed. Not an easy job, I’m sure. So far I’m pleased with the results. I was told that the front brake pads were close to needing to be replaced, as well as my rear shocks, both of which were accurate. However, I felt no pressure from Adam at Lake Arbor to do so once I mentioned that I could do those jobs myself, but I appreciate that Lake Arbor let me know about the issues. The work was completed in a timely manner and was ready when promised.

Great service. First went in for an alignment on a very lightly lifted Xterra. Their alignment cost is almost half of what 4WP wanted for the same service. Got it back with a solid alignment. I noticed the SLIGHTEST tilt to my steering wheel which probably wouldn't bother 99% of people but I brought back and they were more than happy to reset my wheel. Then I came back later for emissions diagnostics. Had code P0456 and they tracked the leak down to my fuel pump. Had a new fuel pump and I've been trouble free since!

They have not only met all expectations but vastly exceeded them. It is with great pleasure that I express my sincerest appreciation. Their attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and proactive approach have proved time and again to be unwavering. The quality of the work and the consideration shown me have set the standard such that I will go nowhere else for my car’s needs. The positive and thoughtful attitude with which Mr. Vagianos greets me each time I schedule an appointment, coupled with the quality of service I receive, have set a standard I have yet to find in any other facility. UPDATE: Added two stars after a follow-up conversation with Austin. They refunded me the labor on the front brakes, which was very helpful. Kinda shocked this business is so highly rated. I don’t know whether it’s an issue with my tech Tony, or if the problem goes further up the chain. But essentially I was defrauded. I took my Forester in for an alignment and inspection, and got back a shocking list of issues. Listed as “urgent” were replacements for all my struts, brake pads and rotors, and brake fluid. They claimed my struts were making noise and causing cupping on my tires. They claimed my brake pads were worn down to unsafe levels and needed full replacement with rotors asap. They claimed my brake fluid was corrosive and at a very low level. The urgent items alone would have cost nearly $5k. Totally out of my budget, I had them do the most urgent thing (front brakes) which still came to $740. I regret authorizing even that. I later took my car up to Loveland and had my cousin (a mechanic that I trust) take a look at it and we were shocked. The struts are fine- no leaks, no noise. Noise was coming from stuff in the spare wheel compartment. Tires were worn down but no cupping, just a bit of feathering. Alignment seemed fine actually. Rear brake pads had no abnormal wear whatsoever, 3mm claim was a total lie. Break fluid was slightly discolored but level was totally normal, another lie. Oddly, they claimed my coolant level was very low (actually true) but categorized that as medium urgency. They also missed an obvious leak in my AC line and a totally shot cabin filter. I came away from this experience feeling like I got fleeced, and very grateful for my cousin. Needless to say I will never be coming back here again and advise anyone reading this to consider a different shop.

From the moment I heard about Lake Arbor there was a feeling of honesty, transparency, and communication already peaking through. Once I got to their establishment, it was clear that they knew what they were doing. Throughout the process - from Emma's initial greeting, to being entered into their system, and waiting in their comfortable lounge - I was met with genuine smiles, thoughtful responses, and levity. One of the technicians came in and asked me clarifying questions while other clients I interacted with were equally cordial. I even asked about preventative measures I could take for one of their future recommendations. To my surprise, Austin pleasantly was able and willing to confirm an at-home remedy, which he even elaborated on with safety maneuvers. Although this visit was only for an oil-change, I certainly felt aligned to return to them in the future whether it be for another tune-up or something that required more time, energy, and money. Thank you for being in our community and providing the authenticity, care, and professionalism I had heard about from more than one individual.

This shop pulled my 6.0 PSD engine, meticulously replacing upgraded components & parts including a bedplate gasket. End result is amazing. I feel like I own a new truck (minus the 100K plus) it would cost for a new Ford dually!
