I recently moved here from Ohio and someone from a competitor actually referred me to Mark. He said that "you won't be sorry that you go there!" and I wasn't. My wife had a flat tire across the street from Mark Howard Automotive late after work. She walked over to the auto repair shop and asked for some help with changing the tire as she could not get the jack under the car. Not only did they help, they patched the tire on the spot and would not take any compensation for it. They were very friendly and my wife felt very safe. Thanks again!

Great shop to deal with!! I cannot say enough good things about this mechanic shop other than, you’re a fool if you go anywhere else! I had work done here on my 2003 XC90 (Both drive axles replaced). A month later a manufacturing defect had one of the drive axles go out; having moved from Florida to Texas I was unable to take my car back to Mark Howard. Despite me moving away Mark and his team worked with me across state lines to not only get my part replaced under warranty but to also ensure that it was fixed right and at no cost to me. Good, honest, and fair with excellent customer service and a warranty you can actually depend on!

They haven't worked on my car yet but I broke down today across the street I'm 8months pregnant and was very emotional the belt came off my car I walked over and asked them if they can do anything and he said if I leave my keys he will be sure to work on it as soon as they come back in the morning. I explained how I'm struggling financially and he said it should t be a hard fix they they can keep it as cheap as possible for me and I honestly feel like my cars at the right place will update tomorrow.

Don't expect a call from them. Either before they work on your vehicle, or after they "fix" it. $500 repairs magically turn into $1k repairs. They break things as they "repair" your vehicle, then wait for you to pickup before they tell you what else is wrong. All of which is because they broke it. Oh, they'll call you to come back after driving away, but not when they're done with the work, or to give you a quote on the work before they start. Hands down the worst experience at a mechanic I've ever had. I'm driving around without my AC now because I refuse to bring it back a third time to fix the things they broke. First time I brought it back cost me another $180 to fix something they broke in the first place. Didn't call me to ask permission, eluded to it being a good-will gesture to take a look at this new problem when I brought it back, and just installed parts without asking and without calling afterwards to say they'd done it. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle somewhere else. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

I have been using Mr. Howard's automotive repair services for about 9 or 10 years. He has always been honest, courteous, fair, and at times that I needed it, worked with me on the costs of the repair. He has always given an estimate, and has never done any unauthorized work to increase the repair bill. A lot of people use his services, so occasionally he is booked and may need a day or two to get to your repair. But that is a sign of a knowledgeable, fair, honest, customer centered auto repair person. He works on most makes and models, but you would need to call and ask him about warranty work. I highly recommend Mark Howard's automotive repair services to everyone in North East Florida and South East Georgia.

This place and the people who work there are absolute professionals. This is my first review I've written for a business because I feel this is so important to share and having trust in your mechanic is sometimes impossible these days. Services are more than fair and they are sympathetic to the fact that you need your car. You'll be hard pressed to find more efficient and fair service from a more knowledgeable staff. Yes, the place is small and has some "project cars" sitting out front, but don't be fooled: this place is A1.

This shop cost me hundreds of dollars with no repairs. I called this shop on 3 different occasions to get a quote for repairs for my car which is non drive-able . I explain to the lady who answered the phone what was wrong with my car and if that’s something they can handle she said yes. I explained to her the car is non-drivaeble and it has to be towed to the shop. I called again 2 weeks ago to make sure this is something the shop handles. The same lady answered the phone and said yes. I also explain to her I have to get the car towed up there and will they be able to look at it then or do I need an appointment. She said they can look at it then and give my a quote. Today I towed my car to Mark Automotive— ( called this morning before paying for tow) and the guy who answered said yes they can look at my car. I paid to have my car towed to Mark Automotive and they turnt me down for service. He said they dont have time to look at my car and it will take days. Then goes on to say I should have called!!! Which I did 3 different times to see if there was anything I need to know or anything i need to do before paying got the tow. Take your car somewhere else!!

I took my truck there, spent over $3,000 to get lifters and cam replaced, when they said they were finished and I picked my truck up it was running so bad, I couldn’t believe a professional garage would give someone their vehicle back thinking they fixed it and it be so bad, took it back, when I got it back the second time it had a couple other issues that it didn’t have before taking it there, and still wasn’t running right, took it back a third time and they said they got it running right but wouldn’t address the other issues, like they didn’t cause the problems, things don’t magically go wrong with a truck while it’s at a mechanic shop! I spent so much money plus having spent $1,800 on a rental truck while my truck was broke down I really didn’t want to take it to another mechanic and spend possibly thousands more, so I had to just trade it in, I lost a lot of money on trade in value because it wasn’t running right. I would very highly recommend NOT taking your car here!!!

This shop is 100% honest! I had my car looked at by a mechanic from a different shop who told me I needed to replace two sensors on my vehicle. However, I made the smart decision taking my car to this shop for a second opinion! I ended up having contaminated gas in my tank and my sensors were just fine! From a $1400 job that wouldn’t have fixed my problem all the way down to just $500! The guys here are extremely friendly and answered all of my questions. Great communication and honest employees. I had probably the most difficult issue with my truck which left us unable to drive it for almost 2 years. I called 6 different mechanics and nobody would take on the task and I was very fortunate to have the mark howard team fix my truck. Amazing car care! One of the few honest car shops in Jacksonville. I will only take my cars here for service. I had a myriad of engine codes, John recommended just fix one of the problem codes, and the others should go away. Saved me hundreds and brought my old 25+ year old car to life!
