I have been using Neighborhood Auto as my mechanic for a few years now, and can highly recommend them. They have been patient with my questions, swift and efficient with their work, and entirely upfront and honest. I never feel like they are trying to push me to have any unnecessary work done. This is the best mechanic shop I have ever worked with!

After hearing the horror story, my friend experienced at the shop. I would never recommend anybody coming here! She came in for an alternator needing replaced. They broke her radiator and told her she had to pay for it that to me is shady. Find someplace else to go. These people are obviously have to scam you for your money.

This was the BEST mechanic/auto repair place I've ever been to. We were on a road trip from Nova Scotia back home to WA state. In Montana a number of things led us to believe that we had an issue with our bearings. We called around and this place was above and beyond helpful. Chris was who we dealt with from start to finish and he was so incredibly kind and generous. He sat with us on the phone for 15 minutes trouble shooting, never making us feel like we were an inconvenience for asking questions. He did incredible, fast work at a reasonable price. He was very knowledgeable on cars and also just so kind! He started work that evening on our car and finished the next morning by 9am! Incredible. If we lived in the area he would 100% be our mechanic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this establishment to friends or family. It's not often you come across this level of integrity and care in the mechanic business.

Great people from top to bottom. I'm learning how to wrench.....a little. I brang my vehicle to them after I couldn't find a noise that popped up after I replaced some parts. They found where I had missed something very quickly to keep my charges to a minimum. Plus they didn't even make fun of me lol. Thank you all I appreciate having a place I can trust!

The people who run this shop are very professional, prompt, and don't charge lots of money. Les Schwab gave me an estimate for getting some work done for $1450 or so. I was able to get that and more done here at Neighborhood Auto Repair for $900. Very competitively priced. I'm so glad to have everything important running properly now. Thanks for the great work!

This is a mixed review, my daughter had a power steering leak and got an estimate from them. One was for $800 and something to replace the power steering pump and $1,900 for rack and pinion, my daughter not knowing anything about cars took her car and asked to fix the cheaper problem (she’s a single mother struggling to make ends meet) so, they did the $800 and something job and when we went to pick up the car we were told that the new pump wouldn’t last because she couldn’t drive the car without fixing the rack and pinion. Why didn’t they tell her that when she took the car to fix only the steering pump??? So she spent over $2,700 on a 20 year old car. 🤦🏽‍♀️ she could had sold the car for junk and use the $2,700 plus on a down payment. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think they know the business, they know she had no idea of how cars work, they should had explained to her that she couldn’t fix one thing without fixing the other . Now I hope they at least did a good job , very disappointed

Second time bringing my truck, excellent shop, surprised I didn't leave a review the first time. Very happy with the customer service, the updates on what needs to be done and what they recommend. I have full confidence in the mechanics and that it will be done right. The prices are very fair for the level of integrity your getting. This is definitely my mechanic for all future problems and having a 28 y/o truck, there definitely will be.

This should be the first place anyone in the are should try! They have excellent customer service, they are always super nice and respectful, they don’t treat you like you are dumb or a bother; they are always understanding and easy to set up appointments with, even if you don’t know what the exact issue is they are very communicating about potential issues and fixes. Prices are extremely fair, and it never feels as if they are trying to just get as much money as possible; it always feels like they genuinely care and want to help you!

They do a great job with diagnostics, talk through the repair options, are honest about what needs to be repaired and what can wait, and do a great job completing any repairs.

This awesome repair shop has very fair prices for labor and parts; fast, dependable service with excellent communication and lastly, they operate with a degree of honesty and transparency that is difficult to find nowadays. I used to live 5 minutes from their shop, which was really convenient. I now live an hour away but they're still the ONLY shop I trust to service my vehicles. This shop is the benchmark for auto repair shops in the North Idaho region.

Great work with reasonable prices! Les Schwab said my son's car needed about $1600 of work. But glad I got a 2nd opinion here! I still needed costly work, but at least it was properly diagnosed and repaired accordingly! I would have been out the $1600 and it would have not been fixed. Very friendly service too. Will definitely use them in the future!

The best! They beat every other quote in town. They’re efficient, friendly, and they communicate what services are going to cost before they proceed. They’ve worked on ~10 vehicles for my family And every single time we’ve had a good experience. Ignore the One and two star reviews, these people that have never done scheduled maintenance in their life, and decide to take it out on the shop that has to fix all the issues from their negligence.
