Every one needs to be aware that Bob has retired and the business has been purchased by Walt’s. It’s really sad to loose a reputable community business. I have done business with Bob for over twenty years and have always been treated with honest integrity. Unfortunately, I am afraid that is not my experience under the new management. I took my car in with an electrical problem that was leaving me with the occasional dead battery. I had the battery checked out at Les Schwab, (for free), and was told that my battery should be ok... the cold cranking amps were a bit low but it should be good for a while. The next Monday I dropped it at Nowka’s for diagnosing. I received a call from the manager about a half hour later telling me, (correctly I must admit), that my battery needed replacing as the CCA was low. The problem was that they needed $360 to replace it which I declined and went to pick the car up. Was billed in the neighborhood of $65 for the diagnostic AFTER the manager said he would drop a half hour off the service time. Unlike Bob’s practice of providing a copy of the shop ticket, I was only presented with a receipt. An hour later, having returned to Les Schwab, I paid a $206 bill for a new battery from a very apologetic young man who had provided me with the incorrect, (but free), diagnosis. Ok, the long and short of the story was that I felt that the $360 quote was rediculess and that I was being taken advantage of. Also, watch yourself when doing business at Nowka’s until the new management proves itself worthy to use the Nowka’s name. (We really miss you Bob.)

My wifes car had an issue that to be honest, I just didn't have time to take care of myself. I spoke with Dave and explained the issue that we were having and luckily enough he was able to get us right in. Needless to say the car is now fixed with no issues at all and I couldn't be happier. Excellent, friendly, and fast. Alternator was dying. Got response from Robert first thing in the morning - via text as I had requested. He was able to locate the part and fit me in first thing. While driving there, the alternator died and he came to the rescue with a jump to get me to the garage. Was back home safe and sound in less than 2 hours. I had a breakdown with my boat trailer and limped into Les Schwab only to find that they wouldn’t touch my trailer or help me in any way. Had to have my trailer towed to Nowka’s on a flatbed trailer. Robert and his team were incredible…they went the extra mile and had me back on the road and ready to fish in 24 hours. Absolutely amazing! When I first called, Robert went through a quick troubleshooting session with me over the phone, suggesting different ways I could fix the problem myself. No charge! I decided to have it towed in, and he and his crew diagnosed and fixed the issue in less than a day. Very reasonable prices and the utmost professionalism. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have had to take my car to Nowka’s several times for different reasons. Each time they have gotten me in right away, diagnosed my problem quickly, and had the vehicle fixed in a very short time. They’ve been willing to work with me on trying cheaper options, and have always been successful. I haven’t had to make one unnecessary repair, due to their expertise. they are definitely my go to shop. I also really appreciate their communication. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Used to be our go-to auto shop but have lost complete trust in their integrity after a few incidents. I was quoted $7k for a brand new transmission & labor - only to take it to another shop down the road for a second opinion to find out my transmission is perfectly fine. Just needed a tune up. Buyer beware, I don't appreciate being lied to or ripped off. AVOID.

I took my Escape to Nowka’s this morning on a recommendation from another repair place that no longer works on regular cars. I was very nervous about the diagnosis and cost of repairs. I dealt with Robert and Aaron directly who are both very personable and who both eased my anxiety. They could have lied to me and told me that the car required immediate repairs and I wouldn’t have known any better. Instead, they brought me out to the car and showed me everything they found, explained everything, gave me a well-itemized quote, a recommendation and quote for tires, and they found a transmission leak I would likely not have detected until it was too late. Robert even spoke to the guy at the transmission shop for me. I will be taking my car back to them for this work. I appreciate their honestly and their ability to calm my nerves.

Moved to the area awhile ago and had to find a new mechanic when my brakes went kaput. I lucked out! Don at Nowka’s is the man. Everybody I spoke to was great, but Don was the main guy I was dealing with to get my truck’s brakes fixed. I brought it in because I knew it needed new brake pads and rotors and they gave me a very fair quote (significantly below anyone else’s I called around to in the area) over the phone. They called back after I dropped it off as soon as they took a look (super fast!) and explained the calipers were busted since I waited too long to bring it in- my bad! He was so kind and explained why the calipers were necessary on top of the initial work I thought I needed (so I don’t careen off the highway- got it), then worked with me before they started the labor to make sure I could afford it. I once had a shop do a bunch of work I never approved and then call me asking to pay after it was done, so this made me extremely comfortable just knowing they cared to double check beforehand. For somebody that doesn’t know about cars, I always appreciate not being upsold and told ‘the flabbergaster is leaking and needs to be replaced… for an additional thousand bucks.’ 10/10 service, can’t wait to keep bringing my truck to these fine folks as long as she’s running.

I was concerned about my brakes due to a noise when in reverse. My neighbor recommended them so I decided to take my van there.They did a full inspection and lubricant on my brakes.They told me my brakes are still in really good shape, and nothing needed replaced. No more noise when I back up, and I was happy with the price. I plan to call them again if I need anything else repaired.

If I could rate 0 stars I would, THESE MECHANICS ARE INCOMPETENT THEY CANT FIX A COOLANT LEAK TO SAVE THERE LIFE!!!! I ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS SHOP IS STILL IN BUISNESS, BEWARE!!!! IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR CAR DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE IT TO NOWKAS. I had very, very, very small coolant leak, brought it there, they said to replaced both upper and lower radiator hoses, and thermostat, I let them do that, still had a leak, brought it back, they said they fixed it AND DID A PRESSURE TEST THAT LEFT COOLANT ALL OVER MY ENGIKE BAY AND FRONT END OF MY CAR. and just in the end to get screwed over, out money and now have even BIGGER of a LEAK. I REPEAT DO NOT IN 100 YEARS UNLESS THEY CAN GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER AND REHIRE ACTUAL MECHANICS TO DO WORK. THERE IS NO WAY THEY ARR ASE CERTIFIED. PICS BELOW TO SHOW THE AMAZING WORK THEY DID!!!
