I came to this shop because it stated 25+ years in the industry. They failed to diagnose my transmission issue not once but TWICE!!! Then recommended I take it elsewhere to get diagnosed.. Too busy I reckon...Unbelievable!!!

When I thought my transmission was shifting late, my mechanic recommended I take my car to Pioneer Park Transmission. I'm glad I did. They checked it out and promptly informed me that the transmission was ok. (The shifting changed slightly after I had a tune up.) No charge! -- If I ever have transmission issues again, I will definitely go back to Pioneer Park Transmission.

These folks have rebuilt an automatic transmission in my truck and recently replaced the clutch (and components) in my manual car. Theyre great! Definitely the best experience I have ever encountered with a business! I attempted my first transmission rebuild on my own. I was having trouble finding a few parts that I needed and decided to give Pioneer Park Transmission a call to see if they would sell me the parts. I didn't expect them to sell me anything because when I called two other transmission shops my request was denied. I was just told that I had to bring my transmission in. I can kind of understand being that transmission shops are there to make money. John, the shop owner, was courteous and helpful right from the start. He got me the parts I needed and even answered some questions that I had about my rebuild. He took time out of his day to make sure I rebuilt my own transmission the correct way! When a transmission shop is willing to help someone do their own rebuild really tells me that they aren't in business only to make money but to make a difference in the world. If I ever need to hire a transmission shop to repair my vehicles I will definitely be calling John at Pioneer Park Transmission. If they weren't making any money off of me, and were still very helpful, just think how trustworthy of a job they will do on your vehicle. I didn't know that kind of personal, honest service still existed. If you have a transmission problem, call John. Your vehicle will be diagnosed and fixed correctly with honest and trustworthy service. You can leave knowing you weren't taken advantage of. I still can't believe that they donated their time in order to help me save money. What an experience!

Very nice to talk to and they do not rush you on the phone. I had a transmission fluid leak, I could not figure out in the very back, that was very frustrating as I had it at another transmission place that wouldn't figure it out, that I didn't want to mention. So, I was getting a bit annoyed at trying another place to possibly get the same response. I unfortunately had to reschedule twice here due to other work taking longer then expected on suspension work. I'm happy they still allowed me to come in. They had it like a day or 2 and were able to pinpoint it, easily. Will update as needed. Thanks John and everyone else there.

This is one of the best car repair experiences i have ever had. He was kind, thorough, communicative, reasonably priced, honest and did Great work. I will not hesitate to send people his way. He is truly a gem and, as another reviewer said, i had no idea this kind of Personal honest service still existed. Even after he was finished, i had to call him for some paperwork(car accident) , and he was timely and pleasant. No money for him, just great customer service. 100% would send family snd friends to John!

We took our daughters car here because she was having transmission issues. They looked over the car for free and diagnosed the issue efficiently. We are very new to Illinois so finding someone took some digging on our own. I cannot tell you how happy we are with our decision on going with Pioneer Park Transmission! Parts had to be ordered before any work could be done. It went smoothly and quicker than I anticipated. The honesty, quality of work, knowledge, personable atmosphere and the price was hands down A+!! I hope to not have to see them again lol 😁 But If I do have any issues with my 3 vehicles, I know where we will only be going. John was amazing and we couldn't thank you enough!! Took my 2001 mercury grand marquis here to have the pinion seal replaced in the rear end and it was over torqued which was confirmed by another shop. The bearings on the pinion gear were ruined making the car unusable after just 600 miles of driving. Stay away from this place just because its cheap doesnt mean its good.
