I am relatively new to CA. and was struggling to find a trustworthy, fair and honest independent shop to take my daughter's '95 BMW 740iL in for repairs; specifically, idle was horrible and white smoke was coming out of my tailpipes. Being mechanically inclined, I knew what the possible problems might be but left it to Hector of Precision to diagnose it for me and he gave me some options to consider. Long story short, he had the job done in a day by replacing the rear oil separator valve. He also prepared a short list of relatively urgent items that should be addressed in the near future. Straight shooters! Reasonable rates (not low but not high) Finding a shop to work on a complicated engine like the one in our BMW isn't an easy task and I consider this to be a good fortune in having found Precision Motors. Normally, shops don't have the capacity to complete repairs as quickly as they did and I was prepared to leave the car with them for a week at least. It isn't any wonder when I picked up the car today that there were all makes and models of cars parked in their lot waiting for attention.....from '56 classics to late model imports. All I can say is check them out, tell them exactly what's wrong with your ride and hope for the best but plan on the worse. Mechanics aren't magicians, they can only do estimates based on what is known and what is currently happening to your engine or suspension. There is always the possibility that when work begins, they might find a related or unrelated serious issue that could ruin your day. But be it good news or bad news, I wouldn't want to hear it from anyone else but from Hector or Jenny. I will be taking my other vehicle to them too!

These guys collected money to perform work on my car and never did the work. They just kept saying the part was on order and a year went by they refused to return the money or follow up on the request to complete the work

Believe me as I’m writing this review , I’ve taken my vehicles to other Auto Shops and I wasn’t Satisfied. Precision Motors Have very good mechanics and do very good work on engines , electrical , I have taken 2 other cars to get service and was just amazed how well and in a good difference in the way my car was Serviced Hector the owner and his staff were very helpful . Hector serves grate service. Good man 👍

I recently found myself in need of good quality mechanic services, and as a result of all the positive reviews I read online, I ended up at Precision Motors Auto Repair. Prior to taking my car to Precision, I had conducted my own non-professional inspection of my car. Once at Precision, my car was thoroughly inspected and I was delighted to hear the "problem" I thought my vehicle had was non existent. I could have easily just left, but as a result of Hector's honesty, I elected to have them perform all of the manufacturer recommended services to my car. I can say without reservation that all of the work performed on my car not only met but exceeded my high expectations. I plan on soon taking my second vehicle in for service. Thank you Hector

Outstanding!! I looked online for a shop close by to take my 98 GMC to for diff and trans case service. After reviewing several, Precision had an excellent rating. They got me in quickly because of an opening and did excellent work, pointed out things that need repair in near future and they were honest and good to deal with. Great family run operation. They always treat me with kindness, consideration, and hardcore respect. I was in vacation with the family when we had a problem with my Yukon's cooling system. I needed to get it fixed before driving all the way back to AZ. Hector and his crew were able to find the issue, fix it, and have me back on the road in time for the family to enjoy an afternoon on the beach to wrap up our last day of vacation. We drove over 6 hours home, through the desert at 106 degrees today and had no issues with the overheating. The AC was blowing the whole time and I didn't have to worry going through the mountains. Oh yeah, the price was also fair for the work that was done and he didn't try to sell me any extras I didn't need. I would recommend Precision Motors to anyone in need of auto repair in the San Diego/Chula Vista area.

We arrive in Hot and Sunny Chula Vista with no Air Conditioning. I know hot 🥵 is only how I feel coming from Canada. We needed to get the A/C fixed and only had a small window of time to get it done in. I googled looking for a shop and came across Precision Auto Service. Good reviews, easy to find, drove up and they got us right in, in less than 1 hour we were on the road with nice cool air blowing on us. The price was fair and they did give us a courtesy phone call letting us know our battery was very old and could fail. We had a spare battery with us so didn’t get it replaced but nice they were aware and on it. The shop and yard are very clean, McDonalds was a short walk away where we enjoyed coffee while we waited, walked back and the service was complete. I would recommend this business and Hector for your automotive requirements and services.

CHEAPEST IN SAN DIEGO for SMOG. I called over 20 businesses in San Diego and this was the least expensive at $41 including Certificate as their regular price- with no scams, no fine print, no surprise fees and no coupons or groupons needed. They got me in same day without appointment. Ready in 15 minutes. Extremely professional, excellent customer service. This was my first visit to Precision Motors, and I was helped by Hector, the shop’s manager. I brought my Honda Civic in for a brake inspection (the odometer reads just over 110,000 miles). Hector checked the vehicle right away and walked me through his assessment. He showed me that the brake pads still have plenty of life left, so no replacement was needed. In fact, Hector told me the car is in excellent condition overall. The only issue he found was a leak in the rear shocks, which he recommended replacing. I agreed, and he had the new shocks installed within a couple of hours. The entire experience was fast (in‑and‑out the same day), reasonably priced, and completely honest—Hector clearly explained what truly needed attention and what didn’t. I’ll definitely be returning to Precision Motors for future service.
