I am quite pleased and impressed with Royal Transmission. I recently had my car towed there for I thought was transmission issues. After Steve checked my car out, he called to let me know it wasn’t my transmission. I was very thankful for the good news. He did informed me I had brake issues which is better than a transmission. Steve was very patient and professional when explaining recommendations. Am going to refer my son to Royal Transmission.

Do not go here to get any transmission work done. Had my 2011 Chevy Cruze transmission rebuilt here last summer and just recently moved to Virginia. Had a safety and emissions inspection today and a Technician told me that two bolts on my transmission mount were sheared off in the transmission case. Just called the the manager Steve of Royal Transmissions and he had an attitude about the situation and feels that him and his Technicians are not responsible. If they can't properly torque down three bolts you shouldn't have them working on your vehicle. To add insult to injury I took the vehicle back to Steve three times and told him that the transmission was jumping a little and he told me that the transmission is just learning again. DO NOT GO HERE. No integrity at all. Due to the negligence and out right refusal accountability of Steve, I was forced to take my Cruze to a Chevy dealership where they adequately solved the issues caused by Steve and his technicians at Royal Transmissions. THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, YOU'RE BETTER OFF GOING TO A REPUTABLE DEALERSHIP.

They wasted weeks of my time in total just to get my trans fixed and are way more expensive than other places. I literally wait days then have to call them every time so that they can do something on the vehicle. They lied on the phone saying it would be 4800$ but then charged 5300$ for trans replacement and charged around 2000$ for labor which is insane. When they said it was ready it had more issues than before and i couldn't even start my vehicle because of the car ignition. i sent it back and he said it was related to the crank and fixed it and then wanted to charge me extra 150$ claiming the crank had problems even though I had no problem with the car ignition beforehand. they are not fraud but they are money crooks and I don't recommend them at all

The only reason why I’m rating this place a one star so I can speak my peace one of their Workers thought it would be funny joke to a randomly asked me a racial jokes regarding food while I was passing their establishment earlier today Asking me was I hungry They got chicken barbecue ribs, and chitterlings that was very unprofessional and I hope that man learn from this Error of judgment They don’t need to worry about me I’m never coming this establishment ever in life 0/5 star

After 1 year of no one being able to tell me why my 2004 Mitsubishi Montero Limited wouldn't move it just sat collecting dust My friend Russel said take it to Steve at Royal Transmission I bet he can figure it out It took me one month to get in because their swamped with work but once I got it in 2 days later Steve called.....My man its your transfer case I took this vehicle to 3 shops and everyone scratched their heads Today I picked my running vehicle up and went on a 3 hour road trip to a business meeting Smooth as butter❤️❤️❤️❤️ I highly recommend this shop if you've gone everywhere and haven't gotten Justice Thank you Steve I appreciate you so much brother👌

The work that comes from this place is unreal I thought they was a trust worthy transmission shop but they are not. Steve seems like a great guy but his mechanics are a joke. I’ve brought 2 vehicles here spent overs 5k with them. While changing out a hose, I’ve found bolts missing from my transmission. Just terrible. I’ve sent my sister here as well ( before realizing they are disrespectful and unprofessional)they played with her time and money aswell. I’ll never take time to write a review but damn DO NOT COME HERE! And there my receipt for one of my vehicles that I brought when I find the other in my files ama post that one too. Now tell me I’ve never been here before dam liars. And you admitted to putting a junkyard transmission in my vehicle when I paid for rebuilt, and I highly doubt you paint any transmission with smudge paint . When you can’t even put the bolts back on correctly

I highly recommend these guys. It's been a couple weeks since I've picked up my suburban from Royal transmission and I can't complain in fact Im impressed, seems that my truck has better performance and sounds quieter. All my belongings were still in my truck. Steve was more than willing to work with me with payment on replacing my rear differential. So yes I will be coming back and I recommend others to visit them.

The worst experience I ever had in my life was dealing with this place . I took my 2013 ford edge sport for Front Differential Transfer Case leak and the owner Sam gave me a $900 estimate for the repair. The agreement was for 2 days and they kept my car for 6 days. That cost me $500 out of my pocket for uber service so I could go to work. Every time I would contact them about my car it was always different excuses. After 5 days of giving me the run around I took a day off work to go sit at the shop just to make sure they actually work on my car. As I was waiting I seen the owner Sam and I tried talking to him about my car and he claimed he doesn't work there but I asked an employee named Steve and he did infact tell me that he is the owner and he doesn't like talking to costumers for fear they will ask for a discount. After 6 days I finally got my car back only for me to have the same problem I took it in for after a few months. I took it to another mechanic and he told me the peice that was supposed to be replaced was just sealed with silicon and missing parts , they take your money and don't fix the problem. i walked out of there with $1450 bill. Beware of this shop.

Took my 2013 Ford focus to a trans shop that was going to cost me $2,700 for a new transmission a friend told me about Royal transmission I took it there last week they had the car back to me the very next day turned out to be a actuator and they only charged me $375 which was very reasonable and they also fixed a secondary fuel pressure regulator my car runs great and it does not stall and the transmission does not slip I would highly recommend this place. very friendly environment and they explained everything to me. Very satisfied with the service they provided 😁😁😁

This is the 2nd vehicle that Royal transmission has repaired for me. My experience with Steve both times were great! Once he looks the vehicle over he'll call you and tell you what the problem is and explain it in great detail so one will have an understanding of what it is that failed. I traveled about 35 Miles one way to get to him, I passed several other transmission shops I could have taken my Jeep to,, however they did an awesome job first vehicle I took to them and after getting my vehicle back I'm totally content. They did an awesome job.

I would strongly caution anyone considering this shop for major transmission work. I paid approximately $4,000 for transmission repairs/replacement on my vehicle. I am from North Carolina and was visiting family in Michigan when my transmission initially failed. I was told by the shop manager the repair would take about one week, but it ended up taking nearly five weeks before I got my car back. Before leaving Michigan, I informed the shop manager that I would be driving back to North Carolina and asked if the vehicle was safe to drive. I was told that it was. After returning to North Carolina, I noticed that transmission fluid had leaked from the vehicle. Two mechanics here inspected the car and indicated that there appeared to be issues related to the transmission work. When I contacted the shop, I was told that I must have run something over that caused the problem. I was also told to bring the vehicle back to Michigan. The shop owner later arranged for a car carrier to bring the vehicle back to Michigan, where the car remained for another month for additional repairs. When I received the vehicle again, I was told to drive it for 1,000 miles and return so the system could “reset.” During that time I reported that the RPMs were fluctuating abnormally, but I was told that it would resolve itself. I again confirmed that I would be driving back to North Carolina and asked if it was safe to do so. I was told yes. Recently, I had two separate mechanics inspect the vehicle, and both confirmed that the transmission is slipping. When I contacted the shop owner about the issue and the warranty, I was told the warranty only applies in Michigan, and that I would need to drive the vehicle back there. Two mechanics have already advised that the car should not be driven long distance due to the transmission problem. The conversation unfortunately became very unprofessional, and I was told again that I needed to drive the vehicle back to Michigan despite the safety concerns. At this point I have spent thousands of dollars and still have a vehicle with a failing transmission. I had hoped the shop would stand behind their work and help resolve the issue under warranty, but that has not been my experience. I strongly recommend anyone considering major repairs here ask detailed questions about the warranty and what happens if problems arise after leaving the state.

They took over a transmission repair from another shop that had been working on the transmission for almost 5 months. Once they got my vehicle in their shop they were very informative, open, and quick. They took just a couple days to take out and examine the transmission and make the needed repairs. Thank you for taking care of my vehicle and getting me back on the road!
