Spent 2 grand to fix an issue with my car, still had the same issue after. Reached out twice to resolve the problem, Honda said they’d call me back but never did. Technician wasn’t communicative at all, ended up having to pay another 2 grand to fix the problem at another shop.

I’ve been taking my cars to 9th avenue for 15 years. They are friendly and good at explaining things and don’t seem to suggest unnecessary repairs. It’s Honda certified and dealer-affiliated, so the prices aren’t going to be the lowest, but their work has always been perfect.

I had an appointment but when I got there on time they said they wouldn't even start to work on my car until 3 hours after the scheduled start of my appointment, even though when I made my appointment I told them that I would be waiting there for the car to be serviced. Horrible service! No apologies! I left and went to Serramonte Honda the next day which did a great job and took care of my car at the time it was scheduled. I recommend get your service done at Serramonte Honda not San Francisco Honda.

My wife brought our two-year-old Honda Civic to this dealer for a routine oil change. It was just serviced six months ago. Yet they recommended $800+ of “preventive maintenance.” Be careful. They will try to take advantage of you.

I am so happy with the service I have received at Ninth Avenue Honda. I have high expectations for Honda-affiliates and these guys have consistently exceeded them. They take care of my car with top-notch service that they stand by, and they take care of me with exceptional communication, education, and good humor. I have a pretty old Odyssey minivan, so I am in and out of the service center a lot. When I first moved to SF two years ago I tried the Honda dealer on Market and Van Ness and was terribly disappointed. Everything was a fight, they were poor communicators, and work took too long. Disappointed, I tried 9th avenue next, even though they are affiliated with the downtown location. What a wonderful decision! Kevin and Tyrone, the front-of-house staff, are friendly, knowledgeable and communicative. They don't push me to do things that don't need to be done, and frequently will tell me that a given service can wait until my next visit. That kind of honesty is rare and enormously valuable, especially if you are not a car guy (and I am not). They frequently take time to educate me when I come in with problems or questions, empowering me to make better decisions and take better care of my vehicle. But enough about the service I get, how about the service the car gets? Its top notch. They do really excellent work there, sometimes catching things that I didn't anticipate -- including things the downtown service center missed. And while mistakes do occasionally happen, they stand by their work completely -- I had an issue with the work they did and they covered every last cent to fix it, and they fixed it ASAP. They are affiliated with the downtown Honda branch, too, which means they get fast access to any parts I need and have a full record of my service history. Their prices are reasonable, if a little higher than you'd get at an unaffiliated garage, but there's none of the predatory behavior I sometimes see at cheap garages and they are incredibly loyal to their repeat customers. I needed new wiper blades ASAP: free. I needed a new headlight: free. And when I wasn't sure if I needed repairs to my car's tailgate -- inspection: free, verdict: no work necessary. That's not the kind of service I expect from any garage, and its the kind of relationship that I plan to enjoy for years and years to come. If you drive a Honda, Acura, or one of the handful of other makes they service, you cannot do better than Ninth Ave.

I went in to get my brakes checked out due to shaking when braking at high speeds. I was then told my rear right caliper had a pin stuck, all 4 of my brake pads were worn and my rotors needed to be resurfaced. For a total of about $1000 in parts and labor. I told the technician to let me think about it and I’ll let them know if I wanted to proceed with the work. I decided I didn’t have have the funds at the moment for all of that work, but when I came in to pick up my car, the technician told me that he has ordered the rear caliper ~$650, even though I never to him I wanted the work done. Then he tried to make me feel guilty for him ordering it and I told him I didn’t want to spend that money right now. Anyway, log story short I ended up picking up my car the next day after re-thinking about it since they still had my car. I got new tires a while back at Les Schwab and they do tire rotations and free brake inspections for free if you got tires from them. I never told them what this Honda shop told me. After getting a second opinion on my brakes, it turns out all I needed were new rotors that only cost me about $150. They also told me my brake pads were in great shape still (since I just had them replaced about a year ago) and nothing was sticking! Just the opposite of what this Honda shop told me! They lied to me and tried to play me to get more money out of me! SHADY! Never again will I be back here or recommend this place to anyone. Horrible.

Changing my 5 star to a one after several bad experiences and being horribly over changed. I was trying to figure out why a service for my fit with only 25,000 miles on it was over $1,000. They charged me $312 for the oil in the oil change. Not even including labor! Just the "parts" for the oil change. The prices they quoted me on extra stuff I declined were insane. A quick Google search showed me they were charging over 6X for parts alone. Man did I get swindled a few times coming here.

Rip off. They wanted to do 500$ worth of repairs....I bought the parts for $58 and did them myself and I'm an old lady. Unclogged the windshield washer outlet with hot water at a cost of $0..They wanted $181.00. They wanted another 120 for rear lightbuld.....light bulb..... pack was around $5. Air filter and on cabin filters.....easy. I will NEVER go there again. Oil change rip off and 30k service cost me $400....ouch

I had a dead car battery due to a failing alternator. I ended up disabled in a no parking zone in Inner Sunset. I had also little money at the time. After making more than a dozen phone calls to most of the other auto shops in the area, I reached San Francisco Honda. The immediately agreed to charge my battery at no cost Once I arrived with my battery (it was just about 6 blocks from where I broke down), they jumped right on it and hooked my car battery up to their charger/tester. The staff did not seem bothered by my coming either. They made me feel welcome, even though they were performing for me a free service. This is where I will take my Honda Element for repair.

Worst service in in the City. Appointment is for 11:30am, technician says service will not be done until the end of the day. What is the point of this appointment system? Because it's the end of the day, if you ask to pick it up the next day, they will charge you a storage fee. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. THERE'S OTHER HONDA LOCATIONS IN THE CITY WITH ACTUAL SERVICE THAT WILL HONOR YOUR APPOINTMENT TIMES. THIS ONE WILL NOT.

Paid over 250 for a copy of my key. Instead of the key that locks and unlocks my door remotely i got a regular key (the one you put in the door to unlock it).. AND they "fixed" my key by literally taping it together. Then got a "discount" on programming the key..but why was I even charged to "program it?" WHEN I ONLY GOT A REGULAR KEY. Also i wasn't told that this would be the case until after I dropped my car off, and was getting ready to pick it up... EVEN THOUGH I CALLED AHEAD TO ASK IF THEY COULD ORDER THIS EXACT KEY. SO I was forced to pay this 250 when I could've just went to another dealer that had the key or waited a month. No big deal, I wasn't that upset. Until now because I was told I'd get a call in a month to order an actual copy of my key..1 month later no call and no response to my message about how my panic alarm keeps randomly going off with my taped key!!!. Feeling taken advantage off right now. As a woman of color, I truly wish this wasn't the case. But I feel very taken advantage of.

I left the car 3 days in the shop to replace a part in a door that was loose. When I got the car back, after they called me, the door was not fixed, there were spare parts on the car floor, and the electrical system is all messed up (windows and sunroof not opening anymore). I complained and i was contacted by the HQ of SF Honda and the following week they fixed everything and even added extra services and repairs to make up for the inconvenience. A bad initial experience turned into a good one. Thanks for the help.

I've been happy with my service here so far. The staff are helpful and straightforward. Recently, I took my key fobs on my Acura RDX in for troubleshooting (neither was working). One was just due to a dead battery but the other one appeared to need re-programming and I was quoted a little over $200 for the repair. But after they looked at it they saw that the issue was just a button that was stuck. They just charged me for the fob battery replacement (about $20 for both fobs). I appreciate their honesty and transparency and will definitely continue taking my car in for service in the future.

Simply put, these guys are great. I recently took my 2008 Honda Fit to the San Francisco Honda service center, and they immediately asked me to leave it there overnight be0cause a senior specialist would be there the next day, and they 0 the job . I left the car there and the next day they found nothing wrong, so they asked to keep it another day. Again, nothing wrong... it was one of those intermittent problems that they couldn't get to repeat, so they released it to me, with the warning, "the next time it acts up, bring it back, and we will check it again". I picked up the car expecting at least a bill for the diagnostics, at the very least. To my surprise they charged me nothing! $0.00! Zero, Zip, Nada! I've had a different.car there in the past with excellent service results, so I was comfortable with their answer! MY. FINAL ANSWER, "These guys are worth it they fix what they can and are honest when there's nothing to be fixed. HIGHLY. RECOMMENDED!

I went here to get a new battery for my key fob. I go in and they put in a "new" battery and it still doesn't work so they tell me that I need to get the key reprogrammed. I didn't have my car with me as I just walked in because I worked nearby so I couldn't do it just then. I scheduled the appointment to get my key reprogrammed at the Colma location instead. In Colma, they first try putting in a new battery to see if that would fix it and it does. I leave paying $8 for a new battery instead of paying over $300. I realized then that they put in a dead battery to try and trick me into getting a service that I do not need. DO NOT GO HERE.

Geoff was very friendly, professional and provided a timely service. However, a mechanic stalled my car TWICE as he tried pulling it into the garage (in front of me!), and when my car was returned to me, the radio was locked in its anti-theft mode, a cd was half sticking out of the player, and something had been done to the steering wheel to cause a new rubbing sound. The service was free as it was in response to a Honda recall, however it was a good reminder to never go to a dealership service center unless you’re covered by warranty.

Went here because my window on my passenger side fell off the tracks. I was able to put it back in place so that the window was rolled all the way. When they were done looking at it, they told me I'd have the replace the window and that it'd cost $800, so I said no. They still ended up charging me for $250 for "labor" that never happened. This place pretty much scammed me out of $250 for nothing, didn't fix my window. I later went to a local mechanic who fixed my window so that I could roll it up and down FOR $200!!! This place was going to charge me $800 for a $200 job AND they scammed me out of $250 for nothing. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!

Slow, incomplete service and very overpriced. The people were nice enough I guess but there's some serious issues here. I declined services because the prices were double and would not be fixed right away-- $420 for just the diagnostics, a quote for $3800 to fix the issue several weeks from now because they do not have the parts (not their fault but still) and they did not even check a speaker issue I asked to be checked. My car was left and forgotten about after being shuttled to the downtown location. I left my car with them on Thursday afternoon. Since I declined service and just wanted my car back I was told I'd get my car back Saturday morning. I had to call the shop several times to see when I could get my car back. Luckily I decided just to go there when I still hadn't heard back by 3:30 when they close at 4-- it was still at the downtown location with no communication between the two shops of when it was supposed to be done. I asked the customer service rep to call again and he was told the car was *ready* but I would have to go there to pick it up (normally it would be brought back). I took an uber there, which thankfully they agreed to deduct from my bill, and got my car back-- they didn't even bother to put the glove box or other pieces back together! Take your car elsewhere.

As many have said, don’t go here. Overpriced and not honest. I caught them lying about the tire tread trying to sell me new tires among other things.

Got new front tires and an oil change on my Volvo. Outstanding customer service by Geoffrey, who was super reasonable about the price and didn’t even try to upsell me on anything. Would highly recommend.
