George, the owner of the business, is a really cool guy and is very helpful. He also regularly checks up on people to see if they need anything. The pricing is fair for renting a bay with a lift. 10/10 will be going back in the future. Thank you, for everything today, and thank you, for serving our country.

I recently visited Self Serve Garage LLC in Tacoma and was thoroughly impressed. The facility was exceptionally clean and well-organized, making for a smooth DIY experience. Meeting George, the owner, was a highlight; his professionalism and engaging personality added to the welcoming atmosphere. This garage is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to work on their vehicle in a supportive environment. Highly recommended for its standout service and community feel.

My husband and I were on our way to have a celebratory birthday date when all of the sudden, the brakes went from silent to horrific screeching. We pull off the road and into an AutoZone and discuss our options. It's Sunday, we don't have the tools at home to repair, and we needed the car fixed by tomorrow. We looked for a mechanic and only one was open. They wanted $800 to change the brakes on our 2014 Ford sedan and wouldn't drop the price if we brought in our own supplies. Well, we're not rich so it looked like we were screwed. That was till we found Self Serve Garage. My husband has never changed brakes, but felt after watching a YouTube video and seeing that Self Serve Garage offered mechanic guidance, a lifted space, and tools, he felt he could do it. So, with us dressed for our date, we grabbed fast food and headed over! George checked us in and setup our car. He made sure we had everything we needed and was very down to earth His help gave my husband the confidence and assurance in his work to know he did it right. In short, he's awesome! With George's help, we had our brakes and rotars replaced and our tires rotated in less than 2 hours! My mind was blown! We saved almost $500 from doing our brakes this way! Plus my husband felt so much pride (as I did in him too) knowing he fixed our car. I know not everyone is able to work on their own cars, but if you're able to then this place is for you! George is great, the spaces are well sized, and the prices are unbeatable. Plus we had so much comfort in knowing that if we needed anything, then it was available to rent for a very fair price. I'm telling everyone about this place and I'm hoping everyone sees this review and goes here for their car repairs too! 10/10 for Self Serve Garage 7/10 for the date. 🤣

We had a great experience here $25 oil change. Get you access to a drive on lift, socket set, oil filter wrench set, and height adjustment oil drain pan, along with oil disposal. Highly recommend!!! Very friendly and knowledgeable. If you have questions call first and ask.

This place is awesome. Has just about everything you need for tools and friendly environment and very affordable . George is a real nice guy and a fellow veteran. He helped me out with some advice and always checked up on customers to see how things are going. Will be back for future work and highly recommend this place to anyone who works on their own vehicles.

I will never work on my car in the cold or rain again! I wish I knew about this place sooner! Just rented a bay with lift and tools for $30. Customer service was great. They lift the car for you, so no worries about having to do that part. Coming back anytime I need to work on my car. I recommend coming here if you do your own work on your car. Update: Came back on 3/6/2022 with my son to change my oil and the customer service was even better than the first time! I recommend anyone use this place!

I set up an online reservation for a basic - non-lift stall to install a new right side drive axle and bearing assembly on my Chrysler Town & Country. Everything went well, Met Graham and he was ready for me and provided both a nice jack and safety stands. I brought most all the tools needed to get this done including a B.F. Hammer but I needed a steel chisel to convince the old bearing to leave home! They had one that did the job for a couple of bucks. All went well and now enjoy driving a vibration and noise free Chrysler. Definitely will be back!!

This place sucks!! Called and made an appointment to rent the car lift! Needed to paint some undercarriage sealer with rattle cans! Drove all the way there frm Seattle!! The Dude there said I couldn't use the bay to paint! After I made it clear to him on the phone why I needed the lift for!!! So I wasted my "time' and"gas" for nothing!! Wouldn't recommend this place at all... Its not a self service or do it your self place!! Then....

Did my inner and outer tie rods today. Called Friday got an appointment set up with a post lift, showed up Saturday had no trouble getting set up and started. They raised and lowered the lift for me as needed, they checked on all the customers, very friendly staff. If you need tools you can rent them for a reasonable rate, the lift rate was extremely reasonable as well. The shop was clean and set up well with tables and rolling carts. No minimum charge, they didn't round my hours up. 10 out of 10 I'm coming back. No more ground struggle for me.

Absolutely fantastic place! Located in a prime spot, this business is proudly veteran-owned and operated. The owner is not only exceptional during business hours but also an invaluable connection outside of work. The facility is consistently clean, and the staff members are incredibly knowledgeable. If you're without access to a lift or tools for your DIY vehicle projects, this is the go-to spot. Highly recommended.

I reserved a bay here recently to replace my brakes and rotors. I have some previous experience with replacing the brakes. But I asked for a walk-through, as I was afraid of messing something up before my new job. George was detailed with instructions and made sure everything was done correctly before I left. He explained why each step needed to be done and was personable as well. I am thankful for my positive experience here.

I love it here! Always my go to when I need to do something either out of the rain or that involves a little more than a scissor jack. Very affordable and very accommodating, and the tools are readily available for use (at a price of course). I especially love that if I snap a bolt, they’ve managed to have a spare bolt (but it’s lucky chance sometimes because I’ve managed to steal the last one before).

Great guys to rent a bay from, they are the most friendly customer service guys. They will give you tips on things if you ask nicely. I been coming back to them for a year now for the bay and never had a bad experience with them. I Will continue to recommend them whenever I have a chance for a place that you can do your own repair or friend car.

Great place to work on your vehicle and great service. To rent a bay is 20 dollars an hour ( without a lift), and tools are provided for a small rental fee. My wife and I had to change our front rotors, and we did need a couple of tools to help us get everything done, but it was made very clear-cut with absolutely no hidden costs! So, for the time and tools, it only cost us $27.50!. Would I recommend this business? Absolutely, and we will use the facility again if needed.

George was super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Came in for the oil change special, and he explained how to use the adjustable height oil drain and provided a set of tools. He helped me clean up and even helped me check my oil to make sure there were no leaks and the oil level was correct. Highly recommend!

A clean, friendly, safe environment to facilitate your automotive endeavors. I volunteered to do maitainance on my daughter's Ford Escape. I was coming from Colorado and had limited space for tools and equipment -one 50# bag. I found this place through Google and called to reserve a bay for 3 days. George accommodated me in a busy schedule with a lift bay. It actually took 4 days and a quick return to get the work done. George and his staff were very helpful and friendly along the way. I had to borrow several special tools and obtain parts. They made the visit and work much less stressful and were always gracious. Thank you for your service George, and thanks to Graham for being always cheerful on my last day with you.

Came here to change a worn clutch. Big job for me. Bring my own tools and rent a few there for a couple bucks. Gladly to finish it in 10 hours. The price is very affordable. Hopefully my car won’t need big repair in the future; if it does, I would definitely come back to this self-serve garage. Great time there and great services!

If you've ever crawled around under your car in the driveway it's well worth your time to rent a lift and see what it's like to work comfortably and with room for activities. Prices are very reasonable and spelled out in multiple places, the shop is clean and well taken care of. I have a set of ramps but I'm not sure I'll ever use them again. I'll be back in a few months to do my front brakes and most likely for every other job I do for my car.
