Moving to a new city always is difficult when trying to find that perfect person to work on your vehicle. I have a 2006 BMW Z4 convertible that I have owned from the beginning. Being 16 yrs old things need to be fixed on it every now and then. I found Alex here and he has been the best. I'm so pleased with his workmanship. As long as I live here I will be having Alex do all the repairs needed. The perfect place for foreign car repairs.

I had Alex replace a water pump and thermostat for me on a BMW 328xi. He did the job for exactly what he quoted and not a penny more. He did a great job and I’m really happy to find someone who shares my passion for German cars and knows what he’s doing. Call and get a quote, you’ll appreciate his prices. When you call, remember that he’s one guy, not a dealership with 10 technicians. He’s a small business owner with one lift, not a dealership with several lifts and new loaner cars. He might not be able to get your car in as soon as you’d like, but when he does, you and your wallet will be happy.

Scheduled them to look at an Audi I recently purchased. When I got there on my appointment day they acted like I wasn't scheduled. Several hours later they charged $500 to tell me what was wrong with the car. Went to an Audi dealership a couple months later to find out I didn't have any of the problems they said and had a couple of different ones. Go somewhere else.

Brought my 2013 TDI in for timing belt and water pump replacement and they were quick in getting it done and did a great job at that. I also had issues with my emissions equipment and they cleared the codes at no cost and it’s been running better since. Alex communicated with me throughout the process with updates and have great rates. I will be returning for work in the future.

They fixed a fuel issue I had and did an oil change all for a very reasonable price. Alex and his team really helped me out of a bind. We were traveling through South Dakota in my BMW 550i and had an ignition coil go out due to a bad spark plug, and also needed brake pads (I waited too long to replace them and was down to nothing in the back) and rotors. The BMW dealership was booked out a full week and no one else in town had the parts or know-how to get us back on the road quickly. He moved his schedule around and was able to get us in the next day, and had us back on the road after one day - he did have to order some parts but was able to source them quickly. I watched one of his guys start the work because we wanted to confirm the ignition coil theory. He had the engine apart and spark plug out within about 5 minutes and looked like he could have done it blindfolded. The engine on this car is awkward to work with as it's a huge V8 in a pretty small compartment. He walked out of the garage with the exact tools he needed for each step and flew through the job, and the spark plug he pulled out was indeed completely fried. In their final inspection, they noticed that I had a cracked driveshaft flex disk. He advised that I could drive the rest of the way home to Minneapolis with it, then showed me the exact part I needed and recommended a reputable BMW mechanic he knows here. There was never any pressure to increase the scope of the job and he explained everything that got done very clearly. I wish I had a relationship with a mechanic like this at home and I'm hopeful that his recommendation works out.

We were on a family vacation 700 miles from home and had some fuel line issues with our MB sprinter van. We contacted SFD at 4:55 pm and even though they were about to close, they stayed late to fix our vehicle and get us back on the road that same day!
