I went in on a Wednesday to have my transmission checked and could barely find a parking space only to be told that I needed to come back the following week and leave my vehicle for 3 hours. Since my vehicle is full of tools, that's not an option. Customer service is not their strong suit.

I take my 1951 truck to the Deland shop. Chris has been a Godsend in keeping my truck running. Very knowledgeable, courteous, and honest. His crew is fantastic, and he often jumps in to get the job done. He is very caring, and takes the time to explain what needs to be done in a way that I can understand it. I am glad to have found this place!!

Chris and his team by far have been the best mechanics I've dealt with, Before I got somewhat proficient at doing some of my own work he was alway the guy I took my older Ford truck too, and whenever I have any issues I can't handle I can always call him or take it to him and I know he will handle it without killing me on the price He even capable of minor fabrication work and has multiple connections if u r trying to do your own diy restoration without breaking the bank Can't recommend these guys enough

AAMCO helped me save $2500. I just read these other poor reviews and have to say that is the 180degree opposite of what I just experienced at AAMCO of DeLand. I took my Suburban in yesterday (10/29/18) about 10am, dropped the key with Chris and explained my transmission issue. He called me back about 3pm and said he diagnosed it with a very low level of fluid and a leak in the seal. I said Great, please fix and He called me today (10/30/18) at 9am and said it was ready for pick up. FANTASTIC! Runs great so far. What I told him as I paid my modest bill was that another local transmission shop told me that I needed a whole new transmission for $2500. I was very impressed with Chris and so far so good. Thank you.

I am a single woman that has had bad experiences in the past with automotive repair shops. My car was making weird noises so I took it into the AAMCO in Deland. Chris the service manager diagnosed the problem and gave me a reasonable quote for repairs. They were the most friendly and easy people to work with. They explained to me what was wrong, and had my car fixed in a reasonable time. Great customer service experience!!! Thank you Chris and Rich!!! 😊

I trust Chris and his knowledge of cars. He is very honest about what is going on with the vehicle. He is a very personable person and is kind. I trust Chris with my cars. He always has a parking lot full of cars, and the Yelp reviews do not give an accurate picture of how great this repair shop is with a hometown feel. I would absolutely recommend this mechanic.

I called one day and my vehicle was fixed within 24 hours! Chris was so very helpful. We did a test ride together. He was not just pleasant but I could tell he really cared about providing great service. After diagnosing the issue he was able to offer a few options so I could choose which one made the most sense for me. When picking up my vehicle I was able to interact with Richard and Chris both. Both again exceeded my expectations by being helpful to offer any answers to questions I had for them. They were quick to process the transaction in the most friendly manor. We are new to this area so I wasn't sure what to expect with this shop. Now I know if we need work on any of our vehicles in the future, we will always go to this Aamco location.

Service was good. It was the only place in town that took my warranty. They did a pretty good job.

Would not reccomend AAMCO. They do not care about their customers, one of my work vans wasn’t “repaired” until over a week after the date they quoted. When I finally get it back, I drive it for a day and get an error code on my transmission. Took it back to the store and it’s still not ready THREE days later because they put a bad part in it. Had no manager call me to discuss their errors, or the extensive delay. Please take your money and business vehicles elsewhere.

Chase and the guys were upfront and honest. They showed me all the parts that were damaged on my clutch and transmission. I was greatfull for the complete disclosure. Now my car is running "Silky" when shifting gears. I can't thank them enough for the attention to detail. I highly recommend them for clutch and transmissiom problems.

Chase and Chris and the crew are Amazing!!! I highly recommend this place. The crap I went through with Ford Dealership and got my car towed to Aamco in Deland. Aamco guys fixed my transmission or a new one, they also got my timing chain fixed, and a complimentary oil change. I am truly grateful. It did not stop there though. After Chase finished up with our bill and payment my husband asked if Chris would walk outside and see what was wrong with his power steering. You see my husband has to live in GA to take care of his elderly parents so he drove a long way. Plus he has Parkinson’s Disease 1st stages and walks with a cane. Chris just walked right up to his car found the problem and said go to Advance Auto pick up the part and I’ll put it on. Chase said let them know we sent you. Chris made sure my car was correct with the transmission, timing, and computer before he handed it over to me. I drove to work and Chris fixed my husband power steering. Once again they were amazing to help. Aamco was fast they took a week to fix my car as they said they would and did so much more so quickly. They really do care about people and I just think so much of them for being respectful, honest, quick, caring, and thorough. I will always be back and recommend them to everyone. Thank you guys so so much.

Chris and his team are amazing! They are my go-to spot for mechanical repairs! If someone else keeps throwing parts at it, bring it to these guys, they will diagnose it properly, find the underlying problem and then they get approval for the repairs before they start throwing money on your vehicle. These people are great group of guys and I will ONLY be recommending this shop to people in the area. Thanks Chris! You take amazing care of us!

I cant say enough good things about Chase at AAMCO in DeLand. We had a vehicle in Florida , from Kansas that had a transmission issue and he took care of them. They were back on the road headed home on schedule. It is hard to find a service center that treats customers such as Chase did. I highly recemmend Chase and AAMCO for your transmission concerns. Chase is Awesome!

I dodged a bullet going to these guys, I was recommended to them from a friendly company I worked with and now I can see how the rumors are true. This mechanic named “Chris” is the only individual named brought up in the negative feed back from other users and I can see clearly why. Me personally found that he is deceitful, and very disrespectful at the same time he made up issues with diagnosing my truck that didn’t exist! He can’t event coherently explain his diagnosis to me when I asked. I’ll be reaching out to AAMCO corporate so please do not bother responding to this review you can explain yourself to them and hopefully start treating people with some dignity (The dude working the front office was professional as could be )

I have to say this is hands down the best transmission shop I have ever had to deal with. I had just bought a vehicle and was down for vacation 1600 miles away from home when my transmission gave out. spoke with Chase and brought it over on a Monday. through out the week we had spoken and they pulled out all the stops and stayed late to be sure to get me back on the road by Thursday night to get back home on time absolutely recommend this repair shop for any and everything if your in the area. heck if your not in the area make sure you take it to them. thanks guys appreciate everything

We’ve been trusting this AAMCO location with your vehicles for close to a decade now. While we have moved around in the area over time, we have always brought our cars back here for any kind of maintenance. Chris’s vehicle knowledge is unbeatable and is spot on when diagnosing. His team of mechanics are very professional as well. It’s also not unusual to see a classic car (or two) in their bay for a checkup: so you know they know what they are doing. Chase is fantastic with the customer service side of things and keeps you informed every step of the way. If you are looking for a place that quotes you honestly and doesn’t beat around the bush – I highly recommend giving them a call.

I’ve been having issues with my new ford explorer & Ford kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it after having it for over a month, I took it into Chris & he immediately diagnosed it & had it out of there in just a couple weeks! GREAT service!!! Chase went out of his way to talk me through the warranty part as well! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of your customers!

Thanks for taking care of an out-of-towner before going into Daytona 500 broke down. BTW, the little Nascar transit van made it from Daytona to Naples to Sebring to Naples and then all the way back to NEW JERSEY ! GREAT SERVICE.

Where do I start? Two years ago I got a water pump and a thermostat replaced at this location. Precisely a year and two months after the truck started experiencing overheating issues I took it back. They charge me another $800 for what they said was a bad thermostat and thermostat housing along with a Temperature sensor. The problem continued to happen. I brought it back a month later. They told me a heater return holes needed to be replaced and some fastener for these hoses. They charge me another hundred dollars for that repair. Long story short I recently decided to replace the water pump because it was leaking. Turns out the water pump failed and the thermostat also failed that was replaced by these guys less than 2years ago. Upon further inspections, they did not use genuine parts from AC Delco on my Chevy Colorado 2020 as they stated they did instead they used an aftermarket brand called MotorRad. I decide to do the repair myself but prior to that I spoke with Cris as he was the one that has helped me throughout the process of my truck repairs. He was very nasty when I explained to him my frustration. I say this to say this, I am not a mechanic and with a little bit of research I was able to repair my truck myself for under $200 with Genuine parts for a job that they charge me $2000 all in all in with aftermarket parts. Only took me about three hours of labor and now my truck is running like brand new no more overheating despite the endless incorrect diagnostic, at one point, they suggested my cluster in instrument was bad when in fact, it wasn’t. This place is an absolute artist at not fixing problems right away but milking you on the smaller stuff so you can than later justify the bigger repairs. Do your research before any machine you will be surprised on how much you can uncover before hand. You may even be able to do it yourself.
