I have lived in Plano since 1980. I have probably come to Allison's for at least 25 years. They have done extended warranty work for me on my transmission. Brake jobs, alignments, radiators, electric window motors, what ever my need has been they have always given me multiple options, they have never pressured me. I have shopped other garages, never found anyone I would trust more than Allison Motors. They are fair, reasonable, professional, respectful, courteous...sounds like the boy scouts. They are very good people. They have Earned and Kept my trust. And no, I have no stock in the company. Just a satisfied customer.

Great staff and honest work, took my car to a different shop (my mistake) to get tires replaced and they gave me a laundry list of issues I needed to get fixed. Took my car here for a second opinion (have brought my company vehicle here in the past and loved the service) and not only did the list of issues get cut in half but the prices were drastically better. This is my auto shop now and it should be yours if you are reading this.

I’ve been using Allison’s AutoCare for all my vehicle needs. They do repairs and were able to get my classic corvette back on the road when several dealerships wouldn’t work on it. They provide good recommendations for needed service but don’t try to add things that just enlarge the bill. They do state inspections and can fix the deficiencies they find. They let me know up front if it’s going to take more than a day. It is a great group to work with.

Honest, knowledgeable, fast. 2 years ago I brought an 2005 F150 to them that I had driven to near destruction with poor maintenance. The repaired the items to make the vehicle road worthy again without gouging me on price. ----------2019 Update Recently, I brought a 2007 Toyota Sequoia to them with what I suspected was a wheel bearing issue. (Vibration, slight play in the wheel, sound when turning it by hand) They Listened to me and then correctly diagnosed the problem as a u-joint issue and saved me money. STOP. Take your vehicle to Allison’s. Any make, any model and let them professionally service and repair it. You won’t regret paying a fair price for the quality service they provide. ----------2025 Update Took my 2016 Toyota Sequoia to Andrew and Robert at Allison's; they diagnosed an abs wheel speed sensor, wiring harness issue, brake pads and replacement rotors for $1000 before finding the actual culprit (passenger side stripped top suspension bolt) for an additional $1000. Not happy about the "fix this first and see" approach to vehicle diagnostic but they justified it and charged me a market rate for all repairs. Do yourself a favor and take them to the vehicle to show them the issue you are experiencing to help them find it right away.

Needed a shop close to home when my alternator started whining and battery light came on. Called up the shop and explained the problem over the phone. Scott asked a few questions and provided a quote - I was able to drop my Camry off at lunch. He was very kind and never once tried to up-sell or convince me I needed anything else done. Allison’s was able to replace my alternator in less than 24 hours for a reasonable price. Super happy with the experience and glad that I’ve found my new “go-to” auto shop in East Plano!

Been using these guys for over 15 years. They have done numerous repairs on my cars over the years including a Honda Odyssey, Honda Accord, Nissan Pathfinder, Acura MDX, and GMC Pickup. AC work, windshield replacements, numerous alternators, and other mechanical repairs and maintenance. Always fixed right, quickly and for a reasonable price. Randy once told us they could fix anything but a broken heart and he and his guys have proven that time and again over the years.

I was recommended this shop, but had a terrible experience coming alone as a young woman. I brought my own oil and filter for an oil change, something I do regularly. Not only did I call the shop 5 days in advance to confirm I could bring my own supplies, but when I walked into the shop and spoke with Robert, again he assured me I could use my own oil and filter. I walked down the street to get a coffee while I waited for my oil change. 25 minutes after dropping off my car, I got a call from Robert that I “did not have enough oil” and would be charged $15/quart for 2 quarts. I was confused because I thought I had enough, but I offered to quickly go buy more of my own oil and bring it to the shop, to which he responded “how would you even get there? You don’t have a car.” He went on to dismissively say they had “already started” the oil change and it was essentially too late, so he’d have to charge me for 2 quarts of their own oil. He said “this is why we don’t like customers bringing their own supplies.” I returned to the shop, to find that my car had not even moved from where I parked it! Robert was dishonest by leading me to believe he had already started my oil change, in order to create a false sense of urgency and sell me oil I didn’t even need in the first place. He displayed such a strong lack of integrity, and I’m glad he did not get the chance to work on my vehicle. I will not be returning to this shop.

Overall, this place is about what you’d expect from a local mechanic—reasonable prices and generally straightforward service. However, my experience fell short in a few areas that matter. I specifically asked for a tire rotation, which I do every 5,000 miles. Instead, the shop told me the tires “looked good” and didn’t need rotating. That’s not really how tire maintenance works. There’s no visual indicator that replaces a mileage-based rotation schedule, and skipping it without my approval wasn’t ideal. They also repaired one of my tires but only inflated that tire to the manufacturer’s recommended psi. The other three were left at 28 psi, which is noticeably low. On top of that, the valve stem cap on the repaired wheel wasn’t put back on, so now I’m missing one entirely. The pricing was fair and nothing major went wrong, but the lack of attention to simple details makes the shop feel a bit careless. Because of that, my wife and I won’t be coming back.
