I tried to give these guys a fair chance, but yesterday was last straw. We first brought my son's 86 Bronco II in to get a tune up. Truck ran better not great. He knew he needed to rebuild the transmission and eventually the engine. Got the transmission done and decided to have J's do the engine with a Jasper motor. Reviews were good, so went for it. That was last fall, in September. We have had nothing but problems since. Have been back to J's at least 12 times, because motor doesn't get power or it dies. We have left his truck there several times for over a week and still has problems. The last time we went in said it was the catalytic converters, so went to muffler shop got them replaced. Muffler shop said it needed tune up, engine running rich at idle and lean in 2nd gear, called J's again and made appointment. Brought the truck in a week ago, dropped it off, went to pick it up before they closed and was told my son brought it in on wrong day, they could not get to it. We were not told anything, no phone call, nothing was said when we dropped it off. So, we brought it in yesterday on right day this time, no phone calls, so went to pick it up around 5:30, before they closed and was told they needed a tool in which they did not have and needed to barrow from another shop and they couldn't work today that they could do it tomorrow. I was pissed, another day wasted more gas wasted, plus my ride left too. They said they tried to work on it, but needed this tool. I said I would have to bring it back, yet again, because I needed it to get home. I left their shop, noticing the truck was in the same spot on the street where I left it. Got about 2/3 of the way home, stopped at post office, while leaving the post office engine had no power and was spitting and sputtering, trying to climb a short incline truck was bearly going 15mph, pulled into Albertson's parking lot and it died pulling into a spot. Came back out 15min. later took 4 times to get it started and started to drive off, spitting and sputtering again and it died near the exit. Tried for 30 minutes to restart the truck with no luck. Had to leave the truck and came back an hour later and finally got it home. My husband decided to bring in his diesel truck, because he could smell gas, they said they couldn't find a problem, did a tune up and said to bring back if still having the issue, well it was They were supposed to specialize in diesel engines, not. We took his F350 into Derranged Diesal, the mechanic knew exactly what issue was and fix it in an hour. We haven't had and issue since. The only reason we went back to J's for my son's truck, is because it was under warranty, but after yesterday, we are going else where. There are incompetent there, their knowledge of motors and advanced issues is sorely lacking. Please do not waste your time like we have. Go to someone else.

Guys where great... Josh and Logan saved my a** I lost my injection pump and my injection lines where cracked . He had both used and in my price range .I bought under his word that they where good and they are ...and I usually buy new stuff .went out of his way on a Saturday to help me get parts. Then logan drove all the way from boise to payette to deliver them for me . Very polite and they will now get my business on parts thanks guys

Extremely dissatisfied with J's General Automotive. They installed upper ball joints on my 01 Dodge 3500. Five months passed and the drivers side ball joint was dangerously loose. I called J's General Automotive and come to find it was 11 miles over their warranty policy. The best they said they would do is cover the $40.00 part but I had to cover their shops $300+ - labor. The following day I went to a different mechanic who I watched pop out the ball joint w/ a screwdriver . Super dangerous!!!! The other mechanic replaced J's work with a Moog ball joint which has a lifetime warranty. My new mechanics TOTAL cost of install (including the ball joint) was cheaper than J's Automotive's shop labor cost (not including the price of the part). They put in a cheap "made in China" parts that they mark up super high and don't stand behind their work. I will never do business with them again.

I came in for a free oil change because I guess the correct answer to a riddle posted in Facebook, for a free oil change I expected just drain the oil put on a new filter and fill her up but nooooooooo!! They topped off my washer, checked all my lights, checked the check engine light that came on while I was on my way and checked my breaks! Also let me know that I have a small leak and some seepage and reassured me it's nothing to be alarmed about and it's not an immediate fix I need to stress about. They also looked up the code diagnostics to see what the potential issue could be! While I was waiting I had my puppy with me and the lady at the front desk was okay with my puppy being out of my truck, she also talked with me instead of leaving the awkward silence while I waited. I have never had such an amazing experience going to any shop as I did here! I've known Josh (owner) for years and he's always been a great guy! But the team he has is simply amazing! They went above and beyond! ❤️❤️

Not impressed. If you want a fair price, good communication and commitments met, this is not your place. Our truck broke down and when we had it towed, I called before towing, asked if he'd be able to work on it and he said yes but it may take a day or two. It took 5 to even look at it. Communication with us during the week he had the truck was poor at best. He had the truck for a week and he said it was fixed. Charged us a lot of money for not a lot of work and didn't fix the problem. When my husband called him about it, the owner said he couldn't control what happened after driving it 71 miles. Not exactly what you want after someone has had your vehicle for a week and taken your hard earned money.

Josh and his staff are by far, the best! They work on all of our vehicles!!! From our Deisel truck, to our SUV and import car. There is no other shop I would trust to keep my family safe and our vehicle on the road. Josh is wonderfully honest about problems and his pricing is amazing. Last summer my husband had taken his truck in to have a tuner installed, I called Bobbi up and asked her to have the boys replace the rear shocks for his as a birthday present! Not to tell him and bill me separate, they obliged willingly and he was thrilled when he went to pick up his truck! I can't thank them enough for the help!! This shop is truly one of a kind and will ALWAYS put the customer first. Josh the owner is HONEST! DEDICATED! and extremely HARD WORKING! I love this place! I had an excellent experience. I called when an indicator light came on in my car. They got me in right away. The woman at the front desk (I forget her name!) was friendly, helpful, and reassuring. She gave me the information I needed and told me that the mechanic would probably have an answer ready in 40 minutes. In my experience with auto shops, it often takes longer than they say, so I went home. But then she called in half an hour! She said that my car was ready. To top it all off, they didn’t charge me for the inspection. I will be seeking the services at J’s the next time my car needs attention.

Josh at ADS was great. I needed to get my truck in for an emergency transmission repair and ADS was able to get a stage 2 transmission built and thrown in no problem. I also added several things onto my order while it was there and Josh was able to provide great advice/answers to any questions or concerns I had, and recommended quality parts for what I wanted. The truck arrived back in great condition and now with a built trans, I can put my transmission worries to rest. The truck was gone for about a month but the communication/updates with the shop was great, and the turn around time was way better than the other shops in the area. If you're looking for a shop for general maintenance or a build, I highly recommend ADS!
