Busy with customers, but still managed to diagnose and correct our 2012 Odyssey's flashing engine light (sparks and coils) in just a couple of hours and get us back on the road at a very fair price.

I have known z Danny and his dad (RIP) for over 20 years. Now his son , Ryder is running around reminding me of how young Danny was when I first met him. You can depend on this families honestly and dependability. Second generation businesses mean something special.

Don't go here. Charged $90 to diagnose the check engine light on my car (the $82 they claim does not include the "shop parts" charge), then lied to me about the diagnosis by telling me there was a lot more wrong with it than there was, and tried to scam me for over $700 to get it fixed. I went elsewhere and they fixed it by replacing one part for less than a third of the price. It was a waste of $90 but it could have been much worse if I'd taken them at their word.

I was referred to Bellair Service by a coworker. Being new to the area I had no idea who was reputable and trustworthy. I took my car to Midas for a check engine light. I was told that I had a bad oxygen sensor and it would be $500+! I'm not a mechanic but I'm also not that dumb. I took my car to Bellai Service for a second opinion and was not only given an explanation more substantive than "an oxygen sensor", but also a much less expensive price tag. Ever since then I've always trusted Bellair Service. They're fair, honest, and so fast with service.

I've been a customer for about 5 years. I have found them old school e.g., competent, consistent, very reasonably priced, and always available for personal attention. Frankly, as to the flavor of the negative comments below, I think it reflects the nature of the beast that for many folks, no matter what, they are CERTAIN an auto repair shop is intent on hosing you.

Pretty bad if you ask me. If you want to pay a lot with no explanation go here. Engine light came on and I had a coolant leak -- they said it would be 1500 dollars. Unlike anywhere else you would go, they did not tell me that there was a $78 diagnostic charge, which is nearly $20 more than the dealership. That little detail would have had me looking elsewhere if I had known that 30 minutes of work would have cost THAT much. I thought that the light could just be cleared and see if it would come back on -- they said it would simply just come back on and listed all the reasons why my light would come back on. I asked how much it would cost to simply fix the leak... $500 dollars. The part was $139.... but a quick search at the dealership and online found that the RETAIL price was $75. AND I went to another mechanic... a SPECIALIST for my car AND he charged $80 for fixing the leak -- oh and only $20 for the diagnostic. Don't be fooled by their nice demeanor... I should have known when they wouldn't look you in the eye. They'll fix your car, no doubt... but at an exorbitant cost. Might as well go to the dealer, which offer comparable prices.

I’ve been to Bellair Service a handful of times for car inspections, oil changes and other minor fixes. They are always professional and pricing seems fair. They always try their best to get me in, even when it’s short notice.

$77.92 for oil change and tire rotation. Dishonest and overcharges customers. I took my minivan in to their Fontaine Ave location (Bellair #2) on a slow day and asked for an oil change and tire rotation. My mistake was I didn't ask how much it would cost: They charged $77: $43 for the oil change and $24 for the tire rotation. I think that's too much. Most places charge $35-50. The cashier told me they used synthetic oil and that's just what it costs, sorry I felt that way. I took this place for the state inspection last summer and they failed it on rotors and brakes. Some of the brakes needed replacing but the rotors were fine. I had someone else do the work, but I still had to waste $100 on new rotors. Avoid.

After reading reviews, I was skeptical to say the least. I found Brian (I believe was the owner/shop manager) to be very upfront and very professional. As they were working on my car, a couple problems came up that I wasn't prepared for, but Brian and Matt (the mechanic) walked me through what they came across with a detailed explanation and what step they wanted/needed to take next. Very professional all the way around. I definitely suggest you give this locally owned and operated shop a try. They will be my mechanic from here on out in Charlottesville.

Brian was very professional and explained everything that needed to be done to get my old car running. His crew worked wonders and brought my old car back to life n a very quick and efficient operation, which was also reasonably priced. I am now a loyal customer Bel Air Service.

I've been a customer ever since Brian started working at this shop. He used to work for another shop for many years then he came here. He's someone I genuinely trust to tell me what's wrong with my vehicle and not try to get one over on me.They explain in detail what's wrong with your car and go over cost before repairs. They let you know what needs to be fixed right away and if something can wait. They always manage to schedule me in even when their busy.
