If I could give this so called mechanic a zero i would. Took my race car to him and he destroyed my engine. It runs worse than when I brought it to him 2 months ago. Then had the nerve to blame me because I called him on it. When leaving the shop after being told it runs like a beast it was only running on three cylinders. All I got was excuses. If you want to throw money away and not have a vehicle to use then by all means take it to this back yard so called mechanic.

He had very prompt communication which was lovely, although he refused to work with me after I asked if he was licensed and bonded. Every other shop I've worked with has been happy to provide their license and I think it is good customer service to make sure your customers know what's happening is legal.

I Love it that he took the time out of his day to make my day batter! Even on Easter Sunday he worked on my vehicle.Thats a blessing๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ every shop was closed and I needed to drive to Tacoma to be with my family and he put in the time to make it happen.Heโs down to earth, professional & up front... unlike other companies and didnโt rob me or overcharged me.I highly suggest everyone to go to Bernard Tech Services and donโt waste you time or money anywhere else.He goes out of his way to satisfy people.. period!

Tom helped me out when I needed a leaking transmission line fixed to get back home. His price is fair, he knows what heโs doing and open on Sundays! Would definitely recommend.

Moved up here from Arkansas and had the hardest time finding a new mechanic. I really canโt recommend Bernard enough! Heโs saved my wallet and my car twice now. Super nice guy as well. Any mechanic I called for quotes generally gave 2x-3x the price Bernard would give and on minimum wage thatโs a rough time buddy. Seriously best mechanic in the area you wonโt be disappointed.

I truly appreciate Tomโs service. His diagnosis is thorough and his work efficient. I have taken my vehicle to him twice, and will continue to do so. Because of Bernard Tech Services, my 2011 Dodge Durango has brand new brakes, a new coolant sensor, a new rear wheel sensor, and a repaired lift gate. My serpentine belt is next. Am I overselling BTSโs services? Good! Do yourself and your vehicle a favor the next time you need automotive service done.

Tom has worked on 4 of my 5 cars at one time or another. He has ALWAYS been spot on with with diagnosis and more than fair with repair costs. Finding a mechanic that doesn't look to make a house payment with your repair is hard enough, but Tom is that mechanic plus much more. Recently, my 2000 Acura TL has some misfire codes and was running rough. The car was in Lynnwood, WA (over 100 miles from home) so I had it taken to a local Japanese auto shop. They wanted to charge me over $1000 to clean the fuel injectors and change the spark plugs. I took the car to Tom and he just said the spark plugs needed to be changed...less than $100.

Do not hire this man. I contracted him to do some restoration work on a vehicle and he ended up keeping it in a tent for five months, doing no work to it other than butchering the wiring of the dash board and took hundreds of dollars from me claiming he was making progress. I gave him clear deadlines and he kept giving me excuse after excuse, saying he was going to drive the car to me soon. I ended having to rent a trailer and essentially repoing my own car because he refused to send pictures or provide any updates. The car is in worse shape than before and he refuses to return many of the parts that I couldn't find when I took it back. Again, do not hire this man, I fell for his con. Edit: Tom sent me the text in the photo this morning after I assume he saw this review. The battery was not there, a few other items were.

I have a 1996 Volvo 850. A month ago it wouldn't start. It would run fine after I jumped it. I assumed it was the battery so I took it to the shop here in downtown Bellingham that put it in because it still had 2 1/2 years left of a 5-year warranty. They tested it and said the battery was fine, but I needed a new alternator. They quoted me $850. I wasn't going to pay that (as nobody should pay that) so I found a used one and asked Tom to put it in. It turned out the alternator was fine and all I needed was a new battery. Why did the shop that put in the battery misdiagnose it and try and get $850 out of me? I guess I'll never know. Tom was very professional from start to finish. Very reasonable pricing, fast service, and kept me in the loop throughout the whole process. Thanks Tom!

Tom is the best. We needed help on a Sunday afternoon and everything was closed or unavailable. But we contacted Tom and he was at our home within hours, got our car running again on the spot, and charged us a very reasonable rate. I was able to make my commute the next day with zero problems and I am so grateful. Thank you Tom!

I am not someone who enjoys greasy engine issues and when the cooling system in my MINI Cooper basically blew up, I had to take some time to find a mechanic that wouldn't charge over $100 just to diagnose the problem. Not only did he not charge me a diagnostic fee, he kept me updated the entire time my car was in his shop by sending me text messages and photos of the actual parts that had to be replaced. I didn't even know what a manifold was, but I do now. Tom was so patient with all of my 'um, I don't know' answers to his questions, that I can't possibly give his professionalism and service anything below 5 stars! I highly recommend this business to everyone!

I have had 3 good experiences with Tom at Bernard Tech Services. He helped me diagnose and replace a failed AC compressor on my 06 CRV. He helped me find a very elusive oil leak on my ford 7.3 and most recently gave me a tune up on an 02 TDI when she wasn't running so great. He works out of his home shop and is competent. He has been excellent at trouble shooting and is very fair with his hourly rate. Some mechanical issues are difficult to pinpoint and Tom takes a cost effective approach to eliminating possible causes. I have and continue to recommend him to friends.

Tom was a total life saver for me!! I was passing through town and my van had a cylinder misfire and I was pretty much stranded. No other mechanic/ dealership had openings for weeks. I explained my emergent situation to Tom and he immediately got me in to take a look and fix my van. Honest man who knows what he's doing and won't rip you off. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Tom was a lifesaver for me, accommodating me last minute and doing more than what I asked for an incredibly reasonable price. I found Tom on a Saturday afternoon after I discovered that my coolant tank was full of water. I was freaking out because the temperatures are just starting to dip under freezing and I was scrambling to find a place open at 4pm on a Saturday. The first place I found wanted to charge me $300! Then Tom got back to me and told me to bring the car on in. There wasn't a place for me to sit and wait inside so he drove me to a Starbucks. Above and Beyond! He then was able to get to my car within the hour even though he had other projects going on. Not only did he drain my radiator and fill it with coolant, but he checked my exhaust, my oil and my engine for signs of damage and rust from the water. He also noticed that my headlights were a little dim and checked my alternator. When he picked me back up from Starbucks he gave me advice that my battery could be going as well as what oil to use and how often to add it. He also gave me some warning signs to watch out for just in case the water had cracked anything in the engine. He was incredibly kind, helpful and professional. One of the only honest mechanics in Bellingham! At the end he only charged me $50. It was one of the best experiences with a mechanic I've had in a very long time. Will definitely be recommending Tom to my friends.

Iโve worked with Tom for about two years now and heโs been fantastic. Very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and trustworthy. He has worked on 3 cars of ours and done great work. His diagnostic skills have saved me a lot of money. He correctly diagnosed a leak that the dealer got wrong and made a $2500 job into a $300 job. He also dropped everything when I had a fuel leak because he was worried about my safety. He explains things clearly and if youโre somewhat mechanically inclined like me, youโll learn a lot just looking at a car with him. 100% vouch for this guy.

Tom has done work on my vehicle several times over the past 7 years and just recently as well. He's smart, honest, knows what he's doing and gets the job done. When you get a quote from one of the chain / franchise automotive shops get an opinion from Tom as you will avoid a lot of needless over-selling of parts and labor saving you hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Or, just start with Tom in the first place. This fellow is your recommended go-to mechanic.

Tom has worked on all of my family members' vehicles. He is the best and most experienced in the business! We love that he is a reasonably priced mobile mechanic. He comes to us without any hesitation and is extremely dedicated to every task at hand. He has fixed things on our vehicles that no one else could figure out. And he is a very happy person to have around. We highly recommend his services and will continue to use him as our favorite vehicle mechanic for years to come!
