I had a horrendous experience here. I called to get a quote from them the day before I took my car in. I couldn't understand what the person who answered the phone said, so I asked if it was Cataline Auto. He said yes, it was. I asked for a quote on replacing the clutch in my car, and was told that it would be $267. The next day, my husband took the car in. The following day, we recieved a call from Carl Cataline himself saying that the starter needed to be replaced, as well. My husband enquired to the cost; he was told $30. I get down there to pick up my car, anticipating a bill less than $300. He hands me one for $798,22. Absolutely disgusting. The clutch repair alone was more than double what I was quoted ($267). It was $534.00. I had no call or contact from the shop letting me know that my total cost had nearly tripled from what I was quoted. When I brought up the fact that I had been told it would be less than $300, he outright told me I had not talked to anyone in his shop. I said that, yes, I had, and that I had even confirmed I was calling the correct establishment. He proceeded to tell me that I had not talked to him, which I agreed with. I talked to someone else, and they put me on hold, and quoted me the $267. Had I known that the cost was going to triple from the estimate, I never would have brought it to this disgusting, dishonest man. Save yourself the headache (not to mention money) and take your car someplace reputable.

The price on a truck repair jumped (1992 ford f 150 fuel pump) from $550 up to $984 . I was not asked beforehand if a doubling in price was acceptable. Ithey also seem to be still struggling with sorting out the problem and I am concerned that they will try to charge me even more than what I am aware of. I am not happy! Beware...

Worry when someone says: "Trust me." Karl, along with his beloved wife (who runs the office & is JUST as Handy w/a wrench) - NEVER said those words; BUT, relayed stories from years past & has ALWAYS been willing to work with my chaotic schedule, AND has Met or EXCEEDED my hopes for a GOOD & HONEST Mechanic! I TRUST Them with my most (sentimental) prized possession, my Late father's car - and they care for it, me & my service dog, as if I were one of there own... Took my vehicle to have them service my old R12 AC system. They were able to test it to confirm it was operational and did the work to get my system blowing cold. Carl was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of confidence that I brought my old jeep to the right place to get it serviced. Beware! The estimate they had given me was not anywhere close to what they actually want to charge. The owner Carl seems like he is friendly and polite but he did not call me to approve additional costs. The vehicle still isn't fixed and the bill he quoted me was close to double the original estimate. ** Update- the vehicle he had repaired was driven home from the shop after replacing the fuel pump. I don't drive the vehicle frequently and a while later when I went to start the truck. No start. Had a different mechanic diagnose the issue and the fuel pump is bad again. It drove a full 20 minutes on the repaired fuel pump. Likely cheap parts were used in the repair. Avoid!

Carl Cataline is one of the hardest people to find - an honest mechanic. While he's a little more expensive than the dealership for routine stuff like oil changes, he doesn't try to sell you additional services that you don't need. He will let you know when you do need service on the "optional" things. When I take my truck in for service we discuss what my owner's manual recommends for that mileage and make our plan from that. He also looks over the rest of the car to make sure we're not missing something. I'm very happy with his service.

I have always worked on my own vehicles but there comes a time when something is just beyond your own capabilities and this place will definitely take care of you. It's family owned, has been in business for years and prices are fair. I know several people have complained on here about Carl's prices but to be fair the jobs he has to do are not easy and the results you will receive are well worth every penny. I recently had a 1.5 inch top rear shock bolt broken off completely in the frame of my jeep and he managed to get it out, install a new bolt and shock and even met with me late in the night to pay him and get my car since I work late. I've never seen any other mechanic shop do this for someone. Highly recommended

What a pleasant experience dealing with Carl and his wife! Its a home business and I felt that close client - matters vibe. Carl was able to fix my car door issue I had for five years where I was told in the dealership that they would have to take everything apart! He also fixed another issue I had and overall showed care and desire to help and take care of my car. He understands that people need their cars ASAP and was very quick to take care of my problems And the price was beyond reasonable !! Can’t recommend him and his business enough! After reading thru all the reviews and from my own personal experience this is the best shop around from every angle. The only hater seems to be mr. Hale who was complaining about his 1992 bronco. Who drives a 1992 bronco in 2021 first of all and second buy a new car already instead of blaming other people for you being a cheapskate. 30 years even at minimum wage you should be able to afford something from at this century.
