My husband Tom’s 2001 Blue 2.0 Jetta Wagon alternator defected driving north of Madison on way to Green Bay. He was extremely pleased with service afforded. He called Courtesy Volkswagen late evening, owner answered phone, diagnosed and ordered factory part that night to get me back on road to work next day!...wow!!! Dropped my car off with Dave a few hours ago because it was making some funny noises. We got the car back and he said he only needed to tighten a few lug nuts so there was no charge. Let me tell you with Christmas being a few weeks away that is really appreciated. Now that we have our car back so quickly I won’t have to bike to work in cold tomorrow. Double bonus!!

Wow! VW owners, don't take your vehicle anywhere else! I drove from IL to WI for my timing belt service because of the great reviews and lower prices from this shop. I couldn't have been happier with my experience from start to finish. They are VERY knowledgeable about VW and TDI cars and it showed. All my repair work was performed as promised and in a timely fashion. I loved the text notification when the vehicle was finished and they had no problem coordinating my out of state commute with dropping off and picking up my vehicle. I could not ask for a better all around experience and plan on making the trip any time in the future I need major service done. Thank you!

Dave is the absolute best and most honest mechanic around. When I bought my 12 year old Jetta, I took it to him for my first oil change and he looked over the whole car for me at no extra charge. After that I continued to take my Jetta back to him for everything from oil changes to coolant system issues and tire rotations. He was always honest, stayed true to his quotes, explained everything to me and was willing to answer any and all questions. He never once treated me "like a girl" and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. I didn't realize just what a gem Courtesy Auto was until I moved out of state and have had to deal with a dishonest mechanic who has left me with a broken car that cost a lot of money. If I could, I would have my car towed back to Dave so he could make it right!

It's great to find a local shop in the neighborhood I moved to, but I'd definitely recommend them no matter where you live in the Madison area.

I've had one glaring concern after getting a volkswagen, and that is the fear of costs and uncertainty whenever I have a car issue i cant self-adress. These guys? Consider that fear a moot point now haha. Prices: Completely reasonable, ur looking at like 60 bucks/hr for labor Professionalism: Can diagnose an issue based off of symptoms alone,and wont talk down to you. Timeliness: If it isnt a manufacturer issue, and oblnly mechanically intensive, they can get u back on the road DAY OF.

The rear suspension went out on my Passat during the pandemic and Courtesy Auto Service was the only place open at the time who could help me and could get the parts needed to fix it. It's been a while since I took my Jetta to this mechanic. It was a TDI Sportswagen. The prices were great. I had a wheel bearing replaced. The mechanic had/has great knowledge of these German cars. I’m so glad I stopped going to the dealership! Dave came highly recommended and when my VW had a few things go wrong, I decided to give him a try. Due to my schedule and needing to drop and pick up my car at night (very convenient process, btw), I have yet to meet Dave in person.
