They were fantastic--they took the time to fix my minivan's broken sliding door on the spot. Because it was a fairly quick fix, they didn't even charge me for it! Other places I'd taken it to told me that they wouldn't even be able to diagnose the problem until next week.

Very poor service. They were several days late repairing my car. They wanted to get the car "finished" before the Thanksgiving holiday so they wouldn't be responsible for additional car rental days because they were taking so long to repair my vehicle. They call me at 4:30 on Wednesday to tell me my car will be ready at 5:15 when they close at 5:30. Not enough time to drive through rush hour traffic to get to the shop before they close. Had to get 4 additional days on the rental car because of the holiday weekend, which they refused to pay. After I picked up my car I had to return to the shop because the turn signal was not operating. During this return trip, the manager invited me into an office to discuss this situation. He then proceeded to talk to me with a very condescending attitude and I asked him not to treat me like a 4 year old. At this point he became irate and jumped up from his desk in a very threatening manner and said we're done and told me to leave the office. I left the office in a hurry for fear that this gentleman was about to assault me. At no time did I ever raise my voice or threatened him. His behavior was very disturbing.

Universal Collision is the best body shop in Tallahassee. They consistently strive to go above and beyond. When my truck was damaged I took it to the Tennessee St location. The work was completed when they said it would be completed, and the finished product looked great. I will always use Universal Collision for any body work, and I recommend them to anyone needing work completed. Customer service is horrible! They said the car would be done by the end of next week, the end of next week comes and it isn't finished. So they say the beginning of the following week, still not finished. Got a call at the end of the week on Friday saying it is finished, came to pick up but they said paper work wasn't finished and to come back Monday. Keep in mind, they NEVER called to give me an update. EVER. I ALWAYS had to call them and ask about the progress of my car. And when I did they seemed annoyed and irritated. All I asked was to be updated on the status of my car. Every time I would talk to someone they spoke with a condescending tone and talked to me as if I were a child. ALSO they put a spare tire on my car and after driving it across town, a friend realized they didn't even tighten the lug nuts on all the way. He was able to take them off with little to no effort. Would never come back or recommend.

Had a terrific experience at Universal Collision Center. My vehicle had numerous parts that needed to be replaced due to a collision caused by avoiding an animal. Tammy Culvey was absolutely fantastic with her communication during every step of the way. My vehicle had to be painted and then sent over to the dealership to be updated and she was sure to let me know where it was going and when it would be completed. Universal did a FANTASTIC job fixing my Honda Pilot. I had a minor fender bender (my first accident ever) and they made my car look like it never happened. They communicated with me by text, phone and email through the entire process and were extremely informative. I had an extremely awful experience with another body shop here in town and Universal Collision has restored my faith in good honest people! Also, I need to note that Mike Sword in your front office deserves a raise! He helped me get everything out of my car and took me to work because I needed a ride. Resassured me that my vehicle was in good hands and that I wasn’t going to be screwed over again. He is a valuable employee! Thank you again, Universal Collision!

Safelite replaced my windshield and there was a few damages on my hood. I was looking for the best place to get the job done reading reviews and universal collision had the best reviews. Ms. Tammy was awesome and very patient with me. Safelite gave us both the run around for 2 months. I finally got my truck hood painted and I love the work. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs there vehicle painted.

Gerber Collision came recommended by a coworker who had used them for a repair estimate in the past. She did say that she had used the Tennessee Street location, but this one was closer to my house. Maybe I should have gone with her recommended location as well. I needed a second estimated quote for an undercarriage damaged on state property so that I can submit it to the State of Florida. Gerber only does estimates based on what they can visibly see -- without putting it on a lift or anything. This is obviously an issue when it comes to undercarriage damage. So now I have a laughably low quote (167% lower than my other quote) that would probably result in me having to pay more out of pocket than the state would cover thanks to said low balled number. But everyone was super friendly, so I can't exactly dock stars for that. If I was paying for this out of pocket, I would be happy with this quoted amount (right up until someone found something increase the price, as would no doubt happen). And I got lectured on washing my car. Like I was very specifically told to definitely use Dawn dish soap to wash my car so that it looks shiny and not "thirsty".

Due to being sideswiped, the entire passenger side of my Toyota Sequoia was damaged, from the headlight to the tail light, every panel was damaged, the mirror was destroyed, & the front window was chipped up. Frank & his team went the extra mile from the time I stopped in for an estimate through completion & even the pick up. The work they did is excellent: replacement of side mirror & decorative parts, paint matching, etc. (Including leaving my truck way more clean than it had been when I dropped it off!). The whole experience was the most professional auto repair I've ever had! Frank, the owner is a great guy, a pleasure to talk to, & a genuine man of his word, a rare commodity in this time! It was a rare & wonderful experience to work with a business owner for whom his bottom dollar was less important than his customer! Thanks Frank & Crew for the wonderful work you do!

The work was done very well and as quickly as possible! They even washed my van. Shirley provided transportation home and back to the shop when it was finished as I had none. I was in a car wreck, the reviews for this place said they do great work. Based on the brief interaction I had with the customer service desk I am giving this place a 1 star review. I was told they couldn't accept a tow to this shop because the person who accepts tows isn't working currently. No offer or attempt was made to have it towed to the many locations they have in Tallahassee, just a straight we don't want to do work for you. I don't know if they perform quality repairs. I can not speak to that but the customer service is terrible. Avoid at all costs.

I know now why A+ Dealer Alternative (the best mechanic shop in Tallahassee) recommends them. Interestingly enough, this was not the exact Gerber shop, but another one down the road (there are several in Tally.) Service was prompt, communication was OUTSTANDING, everything was thoroughly explained, and my car was done AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. (How's that for amazing?!) Not only that, it was cleaner than I left it and I was given detailed instructions on how to care for the new paint on the dent repair. Add super friendly and patient staff and you have a 5+ star shop!

I am very happy with Universal Collision Center and their staff. Tammy was very helpful not only scheduling the time to get our car dropped off for repairs but also helped us to get a rental vehicle. Rude & rushed service. The bottom of my front fender was never fixed. Also, just called to switch locations due to a mistake with insurance, and the lady who answered at 12:10 on 6/10/2025 treated me like I was dumb and hung up. There are other locations (as the lady so sarcastically said), choose another one. It's also inconvenient to get to and from.
