Walked in for an oil change and although they did not have any openings they asked me to leave my car and they will try to squeeze me in which was super nice of them. Their diagnostic report was super comprehensive. Overall good experience.

I had a very disappointing experience at Greg’s Japanese Auto today. I booked a 2 PM appointment through their online portal, which instructed me to drop off the car by 1 PM. I arrived on time, but the front desk staff ignored me for several minutes and never asked about the service, even though I had clearly noted that my Acura required a B12 service. When I inquired about the estimate, I was given a revised quote higher than the Acura dealership’s. After I mentioned I might take my car to Acura instead, they offered to match the price. I agreed to leave the car, but when I asked about a shuttle or waiting area, the store manager responded with attitude, telling me I was “not their most important customer.” When I said this behavior was unprofessional, he told me I was free to take my car elsewhere. I canceled the appointment and went straight to the Acura dealership across the street. If zero stars were an option, I would give it. I will never return and cannot recommend this location. Update: the response to the review seems to be a standard template followed by the company if you look at their response to all other negative reviews. Despite me contacting the email on the response and being assured of a management representative reaching out to me within 48 hours, I have not heard 4 days since.

I went to Greg’s for brake replacements and A/C issues. Nick was fantastic in explaining all the diagnostics in an easy manner without making me feel ignorant/naive. He was great at discussing the importance of addressing certain issues without making me feel pressured into agreeing to everything. My car runs very smooth now and A/C works fantastic. Highly recommend

Brought my car in for the first time in a while. I communicated with Rey during my diagnosis and throughout my repair. She was incredibly easy to work with and very communicative. Despite my car getting unexpectedly towed in on a weekend, my diagnosis and repair was done very quickly and efficiently. I've been bringing my cars here for years and it has always been a great, straight-forward experience. No hard up-sells, friendly and understanding staff, and high quality work.

They don’t review appointment requests; I made a note in my request about replacing spark plugs in addition to an oil change and it turns out they can’t do the spark plugs within the allotted appointment time so now I have to come back again for it. They also don’t offer rides for just oil changes which is not noted anywhere when making the appointment.

I had a very positive experience here and highly recommend Greg’s. I was in a difficult situation, stuck in Seattle and needing my car repaired to get back home to the Bay Area. Greg’s had the parts I needed, treated me well, and even provided a Lyft to and from my hotel. Nick communicated clearly, kept me updated, and never tried to overcharge. Thank you for running such a trustworthy business.

Quick diagnostics for my battery and they even were able to replace it under warranty. Very professional and reliable service.

I work near Greg's Japanese Auto. Earlier this year on my way to work, my radiator sprung a leak, which caused my engine to overheat. I pulled off the freeway and pulled into a gas station with a mini- store. I called my AAA and they towed the car and me to a Subaru service repair shop. I waited a few hours until my car was done. The Subaru shop also did a bumper to bumper inspection. They found a supposed few minor things. But the main thing I was told that my tie-rods are badly worn and need to be replaced. Anyways, I didn't have any issues in driving the Subaru. This morning, before the weather really gets bad, I called Greg's Japanese Auto to see if they could inspect the tie-rods and the rest of the suspension. After a couple of hours I got the call that my car is done. I walked next door to Greg's Japanese Auto and was told that the tie-rods and the rest of the suspension are in good shape. Greg's is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is very friendly there. If something comes up in the future, I know where to bring my car. P.S. When my Subaru overheated i was about 10 miles from work.

Great service at Greg's! Dropped off our Nissan Pathfinder for a routine oil change at 3pm and it was ready by 5pm. You can't beat their prices either, best we could find in the Bellevue/Kirkland area. We will definitely come back.

⭐ 1 Star I went to Greg’s Japanese Auto after my dad recommended them for a simple, affordable oil change but my experience was anything but that. Upon arrival, I was told my car had about five different problems and that I couldn’t even take it home until the threading of my oil pan was replaced. Rey presented me with two options: a “temporary fix” that she said would work for a while, and a “permanent fix” for $2,400. I chose the temporary fix for $700 because she assured me both would work. Just three days after picking up my vehicle, I immediately noticed something was wrong because my car was driving worse than before. On top of that, the oil life on my dashboard still read 40%. When I called about it, Rey told me to “Google how to fix it” or bring it in. When I brought the car back, Ethan (who was great, by the way) checked my oil and found barely any oil on the dipstick. After lifting the car, they confirmed the oil was still leaking only three days after the repair. When I asked Rey what could be done since her recommended “temporary fix” clearly didn’t work, she told me, “Well, you chose the temporary fix, so you’ll have to deal with the consequences.” My jaw literally dropped. I then asked if I could at least pay for the labor and possibly be refunded for the part since the repair failed immediately, and she actually laughed at me and said no. She had told me both options were valid fixes and never once mentioned that the temporary one might fail in days. To make things worse, they then told me my oil pump was leaking, something that wasn’t even on the original diagnosis. So either the first inspection missed a major issue or they were just adding new problems. I’ve since called multiple other repair shops, and every single one has been shocked at the price Greg’s charged, even after explaining that part of my car is welded. The consensus? I was wildly overcharged. Honestly, I don’t know if I was treated this way because I’m a young woman, but the way Rey spoke to me, dismissive, condescending, and completely unwilling to take accountability, left me feeling taken advantage of. If you just need an oil change, be warned: they’ll likely find a laundry list of “urgent” issues and tell you your car can’t leave until they fix them. I’ve never felt so disrespected or misled by an auto shop.

Was able to have our Mazda towed there and fixed within a day! New alternator, serpentine belt, battery and oil change. There was even a manufacturing defect on the oil filter and they immediately replaced the filter and oil when I brought the car back. Price was reasonable.

My partner and I spent four weeks trying to find someone to replace and fix the brakes on our Mercedes, with most shops booked weeks or even months out. They got us in the very next day. They also corrected a previous misdiagnosis and saved us from paying for unnecessary work. The price was extremely fair so much so that even our friends were shocked when we told them.

Save $500 and take your car somewhere else (I recommend no. 1 Japanese auto in Greenwood). I had my car towed here bc it was the closest shop and they wanted to charge me over $1,100 to get my spark plugs and one engine coil replaced. Eventually I got the price down to $930. On the phone Rey felt condescending and kept reassuring me the price was reasonable. After talking with him I called my usual shop, No. 1 Japanese Auto, and Tony quoted me $450 to fix my car. It was cheaper to have my car towed and fixed there than it was to stay at Greg’s. I told them I’d come have it towed to my usual shop the next day. When I went to Greg’s to have my car towed it had been left on and unlocked in the parking lot all night. Don’t take your car here, save your money.

After years using Greg’s for car repairs, we finally had it and will not go back again. They quoted us $3.3k before tax in Aug 2025 for 120k miles maintenance and we decided to spread it out to 2 visits. After $1.2k in Sept to replace spark plugs and power steering service, we went back to do the rest of the maintenance on 12/29/25. We were shocked by the quote of $3.6k for timing belt replacement and brake service. R. Brown at the counter said the original quote didn’t include labour for timing belt and that was $1,380 before tax. She said “they” didn’t quote it but her name was on the original quote. No apology. Had they quoted correctly we might have decided to sell the car as the total maintenance costs would have been close to $5k. On 12/29/25, they did diagnostic on two potential issues and charged $392 for one issue found and quoted another $1.6k to repair. Greg’s prices had gone up so much that we had to find a different shop. We went to an independent shop nearby which quoted $945 for timing belt labour and $1k for the casket replacement that Greg’s quoted $1.6k. Greg’s poor services, sky high diagnostic charges and high labour costs are not customer friendly at all. Do not recommend.

After reading the recent reviews I thought I was going in for a bad time. Needed to do 100k maintenance. Spark plugs was going to cost me $50+ per spark plug? I was prepared to walk out that morning. No courtesy shuttle cause I'm not important customer? Yea I'm bailing there's a lot of shops near by and if I'm not important I'm out. I met with Nick in the morning and I was informed my spark plugs cost ~$17. per plug. You need a ride back home? No problem here you go. I came back later that day and Nick even offered me another ride to another place. I needed new tires and with the pictures they sent it looked really bad. They urgently rushed me in with an alignment+tires and I got the car back the same day. Bellevue is really expensive, however Greg's Japanese Auto will come in on a fair price. Is it cheap? That's just not possible in this area. Definitely make this place an option.

Went in back in October. I had noticed my tire pressure sensor had gone off, but over a few days it went back to normal, but something felt off that it just went out like that. I got an oil change and asked them to take a look at my tires. I spoke with Nick, who came out to my car, measured the tires with his fingers and told me that my tires were "legally" not safe for driving and then tried to sell me on some brand of budget tires. I had recently bought the car in Feb and had an inspection and repairs done so to hear that the tires were in such bad shape was shocking to say the least. Nick had also told me there was a good chance they hadn't done the repairs they talked about. I decided to take it to the dealership, where they measured the tires tread in front of me with a tool and showed me exactly what they had done and where. Basically the tires were not in bad shape at all and had tread left. They had also done the work they had said they had done and showed me exactly where and I could see the new parts. In short I was lied to, the tires were not legally unsafe to drive in and the work done had actually been done. Given it was going to be a few bad weeks of rain after and it definitely gave me some anxiety and I feel like they tried to take advantage of that.

Good, quick service at a fair price. Was easy to schedule an appointment online and my car was serviced promptly after I arrived. Got the call to pick up the car within an hour of dropping it off. They even pumped one of my tires that was under inflated from the cold - free of charge. Will definitely be coming back.

Love this shop! My dad’s been a client for years and when I got my Honda Civic told me I should go to Greg’s as well. They take great care of my car for me, often performing extra services free of charge. I came in for an oil change and they went ahead and changed my brake light for me as well. :) The Vehicle Report Cards are great as well, it often feels like I’m taking my car in for a doctor’s visit. I leave knowing exactly what condition my car is in, and any additional visits I may need to schedule or repairs that may be needed (eg wiper replacement, air filter replacement, etc etc). Above all else, their customer service is amazing! The employees here are always super nice and understanding. As a woman I’ve often been to repair shops where I’m talked down to or man-splained to, but I’ve never had that experience at Greg’s. They’re always very kind and considerate, only explaining things in detail if I ask. Overall a 10/10 experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good auto shop.
