I can't even give them one star because I called to ask a question to get my car inspected in VA (moved from Maryland) and before I could get my questions out of my mouth he hung up on my... Once I found that they do not open on Saturdays I was trying to ask if I could drop the car off on Friday but had the phone slammed down before I could take a breath.

Went there for State Inspection. Before going, I looked at wiper blades to make sure there were no rips or tears. They gave me a rejection sticker stating replace the wipers blades and bring it back and we'll put a sticker on it. After leaving with my nice new rejection sticker, I looked at the wiper blades again. Suddenly both wiper blades are ripped at both ends of both of them. They should lose their license for doing State Inspections! Hartman's Auto Service, You have lost touch with what Auto service means. Why don't you just close up shop?

Great, Honest automotive repair shop. Knowledgeable mechanics! Call to schedule an availability to drop off for repairs, inspections and/or any other automotive maintenance or repair. Don't wait around, they will call you when your car is done because of NO WAITING ROOM. Please, be PATIENT because they are a SMALL shop and can only handle a certain amount of work daily.

This place is completely unprofessional. They left a mess inside my vehicle. Made me change prematurely a car part to pass the state inspection. It was nothing wrong with it, so please don’t treat customers as being car maintenance novice. You should learn from this critical review and get better as business.

Hartman's Auto serviced my 1983 Ford F100. Hartman's came highly recommended from a group of mutual friends, and after this first experience I must agree that they are one of the finest mechanic shops in Norfolk. They were able to perform on time and under budget while exceeding all expectations I had. They have a world class staff with decades of automotive experience, I would happily recommend them to anyone to fulfill their automotive needs. I will be using them again in the future.

I trust them... mechanical work is solid and the staff is brutally honest, A great old school shop if you can appreciate that kind of business. They are my go to spot and I worked as a mechanic and shop manager for many years. Small shop that puts quality before speed. Getting it right the first time is always their way of doing things.

Very honest mechanics. They told me exactly what needed to be done and they try hard to keep the cost low. I would recommend this shop any time. Great experience. The business has been local since the late 60's from my understanding. So there is experience in this family owned shop.great place!

I almost missed it because it was on a corner and hard to reach. I had to park by a lot of old rusted cars to reach the door. Once inside there was no place to stand or sit and it was dirty. I was greeted by a nice, friendly young lady who asked me if she could help me. I told her I wanted a state inspection for my car. She asked an older man, who told me that I would have to get there early to have it done but to hurry up because he only had a certain number of stickers. I told him thank you and left.

Hartmans auto has just recently been taken over by the younger son . Great customer service, great work , really nice guy , I recommend service is great. Price is great cheaper then your normal mechanic shops may be a small shop but great people they try and get jobs in and out so you’re not without your car but for so long great at what they do. Check them out and give them a shot ! You won’t regret .
