JG Autowerks, based in Rochester, NY, saved us from a dreadful experience during our family vacation. We were hundreds of miles from our residence when our Honda Odyssey van began to abruptly pull to the right. It took all that I could to keep the vehicle on the road and out of the ditch. As I realized I had little time to get the vehicle to a repair shop, I drove it into J&G Autowerks. When I got there, the place was bustling. I didn't know how they were going to get me in during this busy season but I went inside anyway. I was immediately taken care of and they promptly asked to review the car's symptoms as I waited. After diagnosis, Bob asked me to leave the car with them because they wanted to find out what was going on and fix it 'once and right'. Needless to say, it was a complex problem. Jay & Bobby were tenacious in getting to the root cause of the problem. They ultimately discovered that a previous shop had installed the front struts incorrectly causing the pulling issue. After the repair was complete, they explained to me in detail, (I call that transparency) that was done and fixed the van! It now runs straight as an arrow. We could not thank J&G Autowerks enough for their perserverence and personalized treatment. It was the least I could do to recommend them on this post. Thank You J&G!!

I called with a few questions and they immediately said they aren't taking any new customers.. turned me away with 0 consideration. Didn't even say they could put me down for appt later in the weeks. Sounds like a company that is in over they're head and not going to be here for much longer or get to far the mechanic business. Wouldn't trust um to do good work when they don't have good service.

I have referred clients and friends to Jay and his team many times through the years. Jay is honest and fair and his diagnostic skills are second to none. Regardless of what you drive, Jay and his mechanics have the knowledge and experience to help keep your car well maintained at a reasonable cost. Spent well over $3k with this place and I call to schedule an appointment to get my car checked and worked on and Bob says he won’t have an opening until next year which is another 8 months. Just be straightforward and say you don’t want to work with my lexus which you messed up. They also ruined one of my wheels with brake fluid while working on the brakes. This place is unprofessional and don’t really know what they’re doing.

Bobby Lippa always made required repairs without taking advantage of my wallet. As a senior woman I could no longer trust the well known service department where i bought my car, I asked my best friends son who is a car racer who to go to and he highly recommended JG/Bobby and I have been going to him for years. I had a oil consumption problem with my Equinox which was a well known problem with my Equinox , he told me to take it back to the dealership armed with the information he provided and they repaired it without cost. My entire family and I have been dealing with JG for years. They’ve been by far the best shop I dealt with in Rochester. Jay, who is the owner is an extremely knowledgeable mechanic and a very honest professional. Auto repair is his passion, which makes him so good at his job. The rest of his mechanics are very competent as well. The office staff are very pleasant and good with communication and scheduling. In terms of repairs from my experience, JG is almost guaranteed to find an issue with your car especially if it’s a very complicated electronic problem (which 3 other shops/dealers couldn’t figure out). From my knowledge, they keep up with the latest diagnostic softwares. I’ve owned different German vehicles (which tend to be more complicated) for years and Jay has always been able to pin point any problems the cars had and replace/fix the correct part instead of buying one part after another for no reason trying to figure out the issue. I highly recommend JG to everyone and have referred many friends and coworkers to them with no complaints but only good feedback.

JG Autowerks and the servicestaff that work there are amongst the absolute finest individuals I've ever had work on my vehicle. Upfront and accurate on price, service, and time. They are serious about the work, and about having the latest and best equipment to care for your car properly. I recently had a really difficult situation with another garage, and ended up bringing my car here on recommendation of a friend. JG staff was able to find and diagnose my issues and put a plan together to fix them. One very large job (engine and radiator replacement amongst others) was completed and afterwards they followed up because they care about their work. I can not recommend the work or customer service enough at this place. 5 stars A+ full marks.

As an Auto Mechanic myself, I have always found Jay and his team to be the Premier auto repair facility in Rochester. Their technical knowledge is over the top, and excellent. Whenever I / we get stuck on a diagnosis, Jay has come thru with an answer whether it be information or special equipment to get the job done, correctly. These guys are great. I took my car in and had a bunch of little things wrong with it and was sitting idle in my driveway for a couple of months. So far on 2 completely different occasions, Jay has been my Life line for My 2017 Audi Q7 3.0 V6 quattro. First time my car had been stuck in Rochester for over 5 weeks and at 4 other " Repair Shops " . In which none of them could even diagnosis the problem. In a special effort my car without A/C throughout the 🔥 summer and due to exstream temperatures. A/C was a must especially in a black car. The professional skills of Jay and His Team they were able to fix the difficult task and fixed my car!!! I called Jay again Monday 1/6/25 give him details of my problem this time and he said run it up to his shop ( 1 45 mins north ) and he would take a look at My car .So Yesterday 1/8/25 l arrived at 7:30 am. Within 10 minutes ( business doesn't open until 8 ) Jay spoke to me and said give me a couple minutes to shuffle some other vehicles around and l'll take a look at your car. So few minutes later him personally to my car in the shop! Because of my personal living conditions and distance from JG Autowerks. Jay put my car as his personal challenge ( even though the waiting area is exstreamlly small ).As he was very busy and Winter weather was terrible with the phone ringing off the hook. Jay addresses me to say what the problem was. He said he was going to try to get the Part and fix it well l was waiting. By 10:30 Jay spoke to me again giving me details of the challenge due to NY Rust but he's a very Skilled Man that AGAIN fixed My 2017 Audi Q7 3.0 V6 quattro!!!! I was Sound bound by 11:00 am very satisfied with the results. One he fixed my car Two He's understanding of the distance from my house and I'm a single man with no ride to leave my car. Jay, the owner of JG Autowerks is the BEST mechanic in Rochester, NY. My 2013 Bentley GTC 12 cylinder Convertible had serious problems with six (6) different monitors which said not ready and prevented the car from passing the NYS inspection process.😡 Jay, fixed the car within three (3) hours which made it pass the NYS inspection process and saved me about $10,000 to $14,000 by having it sent to a authorized Bentley car dealership.👍 Thank you very much, Lisa Yeager & Teddy Loria.

I had my car towed here on a Sunday from AAA solely based on how close it was to my location and good google reviews. I was insanely stressed about the whole situation. Monday, I called and they were nothing but helpful. No one tried to pull one over on me, they were incredibly HONEST and not manipulative, and they worked fast. I will never forget their kindness towards me when I was so stressed and their ability to make everything okay, even at their own cost. As a young woman, I get really nervous bringing my car to shops because I have had too many people try to manipulate me into buying things I don’t actually need - this won’t happen at JG. I don’t review places often, but people need to know that this is a place that can be trusted. I’ll be coming to JG from now on and am so incredibly thankful I randomly came across their shop. Thank you, JG, so much. You turned a really really bad 6 weeks of my life (there’s a lot else going on that you don’t know about) into a much less stressful time than I thought. I’ll pay your kindness forward one way or another!
