Mone is an experienced and highly competent mechanic, who also happens to be a really nice guy. We chatted for about 15 mins after he was done with my car. Felt like my car was being worked on by my dad, which is really refreshing.

Originally took my 97 Buick Lesabre in because it wasn’t starting and had a stalling issue. This was 02/2018 and was told there was an oil leak and that it was going to be $600 to fix. Next day there was another problem and the list goes on of what needed to be replaced. I ended up paying over $1000 on this job and left with the check engine light still on and the car still was stalling. It’s 04/2019 and I’m having it looked at again for the same issues and my mechanic tells me that he’s finding that the stuff Mone said he replaced never got replaced...to top it off there was a damn freaking tortilla under the hood when Mone was finished “fixing” my car. Beware if you’re a young female because your wallet will get taken advantage of.

Excellent service. I took a car that i wanted to buy for inspection. He did a thorough inspection and made sure all boxes were checked. Not too expensive. Nice guy! Would recommend.

Was recommended by a friend and have tried them 3 time for water pump, tire install and rotation, and some misc. things. Their big pros seem to be honesty and the ability to do triage/balance with the customer of what is important and what isn't. This is important with our older car as we don't want to sink anything more than necessary into it. Speed, courtousy, and quality are pluses also.

A great place to go for repairs! My car was making concerning rattling noises when I would start the car and rev the engine. I took my car here for the first time and he was very quick with the repair. He even took the time to show me exactly what was wrong and how he fixed it. Very reasonably priced and great service.

Had a really good experience with Mone's Auto Repair. Got my car's headlight replaced at a very reasonable price. When enquired at other service centers, considering the HID bulb and high labor work, it was going to cost me a fortune otherwise.

Back home, I have a hometown mechanic that I trust. If my son ever has a problem while he’s at school, this is where I’ll send him for help. Here’s why: So we had just bid our son farewell after a fun Dad’s Weekend at UIUC. Our car overheated. I pulled over to put in a jug of coolant that I kept on hand. Pouring it in the radiator didn’t fix it, as every drop came flowing out from under the car. We were two and half hours from home with darkness approaching on a Sunday night. My beautiful wife googled “mechanic near me” and Mones was near the top of the list. Luckily it was just a mile away. With the engine cooled down, I chose to nurse it to his shop. The plan was to use our son’s car to go home, leave our car there with a note, and hope for the best. Luckily she made it there with no problem. Another turn of luck: it appeared as if three generations of this family owned businesses were still there, on a Sunday evening, toiling away. They were helpful and friendly. My mind was at ease, as we were in good hands. They called the next day with a diagnosis and estimate: bad hoses/good estimate. The day after that it was fixed and they even let us leave it another day until our son could pick it up. She ran like a top. I am grateful for the quality service and kindness shown by this fine family business.

I took my car to this place because I saw great reviews. Those reviews are most likely fake. I told them that the car made a noise when it went over bumps. They said they took it out for a test drive then claimed that it was leaking. They claimed that the transmission was the problem but my dad just checked it out and he said everything was good. The problem we found were the struts. I took it to a mechanic in Chicago and they immediately found the problem. What a waste of $300. I do not recommend this place. The receipt showed that they changed some bars but my dad said that they didn’t change anything. My dad put the parts it already had himself. I am so mad that I lost $300 for nothing. I had to pay over $300 now for the struts to fix the problem.

I was making a day trip to Champaign when my power steering went out. Found them on the web called, and limped my vehicle in. One of the serpentine belts had broken. I did not have an appointment, but they replaced the belt quickly and at a fair price. Great people and great work. Highly recommended.

I have an 07 Odyssey that has 200k mile on it. It had an oil leak. It also needed brake rotors and pads. Then after all that, the timing belt and water pump needed to be replaced. He has the best price in the area! The owner is very honest, friendly and very experienced. I left the car on Friday and he even worked on it on a weekend. When I picked up the car, he gave me a big discount without me asking for it! This guy is the best!

Got mazda6 2020 serviced here. I supplied the parts and he got it done! You have to be nice otherwise he won't take customer parts. Transmission fluid was drained and filled. Transmission filter replaced. 4 rotors and pads were replaced. Brake fluid bled and filled. Spark plugs replaced. All for $400 labor and done in a day. Extremely honest and returned the old and unused parts.

The third shop to work on my car, Mone found multiple small problems that kept my engine light on. He kept at it, at very a reasonable price, found parts for me that I bought and he installed. Great shop, I'll be a return customer. I can't recommend this guy enough!
