If you are having transmission issues or in need of a transmission, I do not recommend this location. The lady that works in customer service is great but the auto mechanics are sub-par. Unfortunately, I would recommend the dealer with dealer pricing before I suggest this location. Additionally, if you're trying to get preventative maintenance for your vehicle's transmission, this company's location will not help you.

Adam was extremely professional, courteous, and honest. He showed me the inside of my bad transmission where a previous company, who recently charged me $1900 for a rebuild, had actually made obsolete modifications insuring a "bandaid" fix instead of a repair. I had no other choice but to get my truck repaired again. When I picked my truck up from Adam, I was thrilled to determine the truck's acceleration was very responsive and the gear shifting was smooth. My truck never performed better. Thank you, Adam!

These people charged me $100 to call me and tell me that something is definitely wrong with the transmission but that it would cost $1300 more to pull the transmission before they could determine exactly what was wrong. Not sure what the $100 was even for... they kept it for a week to basically tell me what I already knew -_- and they said something was wrong with the motor but they don't work on motors. Wth? So now, I'm out $100 and back where I started. What a rip off.

So I want to start off by saying thank you for being honest. We bought my son a truck in Nashville a month ago. The dealer said I don’t know what’s wrong with it bc it just came off the truck but it may be the transmission. I drove the truck and having grown up working on vehicles to me the transmission was not acting up. We needed up buying the truck and driving it back to Madison Al to our home. I took the truck to Madison transmission to get it evaluated and even explained to the guy that I don’t think it’s the transmission and why and I told him I know those transmissions have 3 slip sensors and if that trans was slipping it would throw a code and no codes were shown. He drove the truck about one mile and returned and hooked it up to his diagnostic scanner and showed me no codes were thrown but my transmission needed replaced and that those transmissions were junk. I told him I didn’t think it was the transmission but I’d get back to him bc he quoted $3800 for a “new transmission” which in reality was just a reman trans bc a new 6r80 trans if you can even find one on a close to 5k. I ended up taking the truck To Mr Transmission and told the guy in the office ( his name escapes me) the exact same thing I told Madison transmission. He drove the truck and actually checked some things out. He called about 2 hours later and said I think you’re right, it isn’t the transmission but the cats are overheating and showing signs of premature failure which a bottle of cataclean fixed. He said to check that out and if It’s still acting up bring it back to them for further exploration. Cool! Gave me somewhere to start. Long story short his honesty and direction led me to finding a torn intake boot and failed pcv valve. Replaced those and did a tune up with a cold air intake, new valve cover with pcv valve integrated into the valve cover, new vvt sensor, new plugs and this truck is running like new. Thank you Mr Transmission for not trying to rip us off and being honest and leading us in the right direction

I don't normally leave reviews, but I had to leave this one. To start my vehicle has been having transmission issues and I took it to a mechanic and they it was most likely a TCM problem and not the actual transmission. So I took it to Mr. Transmission to get it looked at, dropped it off early in the morning and was told they'd call back in a couple hours. Now mind you I am a pretty young looking person, but I am 21 and this was my vehicle. When they called me they gave me the most absurd quote and diagnostic I have ever heard. They called me at 4PM that day and said "It seems to be the transmission, it will be $1800 dollars for labor just to see what is wrong with it." $1800? For just labor? Ha. That would be the cost to replace the entire thing. So obviously I took for a 2nd opinion, it was just absurd. They ended up saying it was the TCM, which is around $500 to fix. I ended up having to take it to the dealership for this certain part. Basically these guys were trying to take advantage of me because of my young age and thought I was stupid. The dealership even said the transmission itself is fine. If you need any transmission help go to AAMCO. They are great people and helped in way more. Scam Artist.

This review is not from Dennis but from his wife.....WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. Do not waste your time and money on their services. Find another place. We had gone to get our son's car and bring it here because we had a bad experience with the place he had previously taken it where he goes to school. We picked up our son's car from Mr. Transmission when the repair was completed. My husband made it only a few miles down the road before it overheated. He had to wait for the car to cool down twice before making it back to Mr. Transmission. Limping the car back, he called them and explained what was happening and was told he needed to get it back to them by 5 because they close on the dot. Really? Your customer just left and is broke down on the rush hour Parkway and all you can say is that you close at 5! Nice! Finally, after a week and the problems were fixed, all I wanted to do is pick up our son's car so he could drive it back to college -- he was visiting us on Spring Break -- and they would not wait 10 minutes past 5 o'clock for me to get there. Now we have to drive the car back to our son in another state because of an unwillingness to help a customer and stay 10 - 15 minutes past 5. Also, we had to pay more money for them to fix what they should have checked out in the first place. I would like to comment on the unwillingness to talk to me, the wife, as I was told they had dealt with my husband and weren't interested in speaking with me especially if I was refusing to pay. I wasn't refusing to pay, I was simply questioning the 2nd bill. I also want to comment on the "cash only" policy they have. They will not take debit or credit cards unless the customer pays the transaction fee. They will not take checks. They only deal in cash or a cashier's check. This is extremely shady folks! I will end my review by saying I did become very frustrated with the owner (I guess that's who I was talking to on the phone) and he hung up on me. Again, REALLY? All I can say, if you read this, is consider taking your business to someone else as we found our experience to be most unfriendly and not customer service oriented at all. I only wish I didn't have to select a star in the heading in order to post this review.

My experience was absolutely horrible. I was told that they were going to put an entire transmission kit for a Lexus into the car and essentially make the connections and put the cover back on suggesting that this was pretty much a new transmission replacement. Instead, after $3600 and poor customer service from the mechanics, my transmission still doesn’t work, and does not seem to be improved from the service at all. I even took the car back, and they had me take it to the other location so that they could work it…still no improvement. I really question whether they did anything at all. Now, I’m having to pay AGAIN to get Lexus to replace the transmission. The lady that owns the business was nice, but the mechanics seemed like they didn’t care whether it worked or not, and were so nonchalant about the whole thing…I guess since it wasn’t their $3600.

Brought in my 2003 Volvo S80 because it seemed to be having transmission issues. The kind folks here were able to confirm this within the day. They were upfront about what the cost to repair would be, and that they did not think such a costly repair would be worth it on a vehicle of this age. I set up an appt. online. When I had gone in the had no knowledge of the appt, even though I had an email for proof. They then called me to state that the were unable to diagnose after 3 and half hours. They then quoted me an additional $2000.00 to take apart the whole transmission for further diagnosis. After I declined the service they then tried strong arming me into thinking it will break immediately upon leaving to the store. I then went to the dealership and paid only a quarter of the price quoted to me by Mr. Transmission. I would not recommend for transmission problems.

Customer service was great, friendly, and informative. However they still charged me $100 to do a diagnosis that took 20 minutes or less. They could not find anything wrong with my vehicle according to what their shops checks for. They recommended I take it to a shop that specializes more in engine repair. It seems very unfair and highly priced to charge $100 for just that.

Very honest shop! We thought our issue was in the transmission but when their technician ran our vehicle and ran diagnostics on it, it was discovered that was not the problem. The technician gave us some suggestions of what it could be. They were very quick to work us in the same day and communicated with us as soon as they knew the results from the tests they ran. UPDATE: my check engine light came on with a code, indicating issues with my Catalyst system. I was told the most likely issue is a faulty catalytic converter, which is what I had replaced. I have made several attempts to get in contact unless several messages but I can’t get anyone to call me back. Could someone please get in touch? I am so impressed with this shop! Constance and the team were so incredible. I’m always a bit nervous coming in for major repairs. It was so refreshing to have someone be so transparent about what my car needed. I don’t think I could have gotten better service for a better price anywhere. My husband and I will never go anywhere else!
