I would not recommend this shop based on my experience. Earlier this year, i brought in my mustang after it overheated and the serpentine belt snapped. They completed the repairs but failed to inspect the water pump, which ended up failing just a few months later. According to my current mechanic, the condition of the water pump should have been obvious at the time and addressed during the initial repair. Ignoring it nearly resulted in a blown engine. This costly oversight could have easily been avoided with more thorough and competent service. PLEASE avoid these guys at all costs, they’re incompetent and lack the ability to do their job. If you need any extensive repair work done please avoid.

Exceptional service... I'm a truck driver, and my schedule is very sporadic. Justin was able to work with my schedule and complete my vehicle in a timely manner, and he took very good care of my truck. I would highly recommend using this shop to my friends and anyone else who needs a good fair mechanic.

DONT take your car here, poor communication and crap work. They didn’t put the screws back in my car and 30 minutes after getting my car back the problem came back. This establishment is just terrible. Don’t waste your time

I’ve been a loyal customer for a few years now, and the service here has always been exceptional. I’m willing to drive the 55 minutes to come here because of the incredible service I’ve received.

Great customer service! I can think of the young man with glasses who helped me at the front desk last Thursday and Saturday about my headlights but KUDOS to him and to Justin for a most memorable experience! I’d also like to give respect to the gentleman that fixed the headlight as well, but I didn’t get to meet him. On all three visits I was greeted with a smile. They did everything in their power to assist me with replacing my headlight after your competitors failed twice. The location was very clean. Everything you would want when going to get your vehicle repaired! Thank you so much!

I drove to Cary from Northern New York. I arrived in Cary on 9/25/23. As soon as I arrived I noticed my car was making a rattling noise. On 9/27 I called TWO local Dodge dealers (I have a Dodge Charger) neither of them could get me in until the middle of October (I'm only here for a couple weeks) so that didn't help me. I didn't want to drive back to NY (16 hours) without having it checked. The second Dodge Dealer referred me to Precision Auto. I called them immediately and spoke with Joe. He told me to bring my car right over and he would get it right on a lift. He kept his word. I was only there about 30 minutes. Found out my exhaust had broke where my cutouts were welded in. He told me they don't do that kind of work and referred me to someone else(they turned out to be amazing as well and gave me a good deal on fixing my car). I asked Joe what I owed him and he said nothing. He didn't even charge me. Told me just to go and get it fixed. He was super friendly as was the rest of the staff. I highly recommend!!!

Well I went for oil change and end up with a loud knocking that the manger claim his employees had nothing to do with but when I took my car there it wasn't no knocking so hmm again. Ended up was told by another mechanic at the Acura dealership that my timing belt bolts looked like it was messed with previous and he asked who was the last person that was under my car and I told him some guy at precision tune. Why would you be messing with my timing belt bolts that's not my oil so in all my car put me down and I had to get another thanks to precision tune a car that I had since 2009 with only 167,00 miles on it so tell me what went wrong on this you guess listen to the video and tell me if I should bring a lawsuit against them

My car broke down while I was on vacation with my three kids. Precision Tune Auto Care got me in over the weekend and got us on our way within a few hours. Happy friendly staff, smiling hard working mechanics, and a clean beautiful facility. Price was more than fair. I highly recommend this place. I can only wish they were located in Pennsylvania where I live. Thanks!!!

Don’t waste your time here. A few years ago, I came in for an issue that they left worse off than original. Management was great at the time and fixed the issue no cost, so that was what gave me some confidence in trying them out again. My car has been making lots of noises (whining, popping, grinding). I’ve tried to bring it in multiple times and each time have felt gaslit because the techs either can’t hear it or recreate it. I’ve even tried bringing in videos and nothing. Finally, I called ahead and asked if I could ride with them so I could point it out. They said sure, fine, get here before they open. I get there the next day, on time, and they can’t guarantee what they said over the phone. There is no estimate on when they would be able to do it. I get it; the techs are busy with work from the day before. At least tell me that there is no guarantee or that they don’t do this type of appointment. Just awful customer service with some of the most apathetic front desk staff.

These people are scammers. The hourly going rate is not $137 for the technician, that’s not what he makes. They charged me 5 hours to change the spark plugs which is ridiculous. And then charged me $46 per plug which I could have got on Amazon as a set for $60. Don’t EVER take your car here.

Do Not Go Here. Read This! Oil Change ended up costing me $3800 Went in for a routine oil change and they said my front brake pads needed replacement. Went back to get them done, they quoted $300 or so. I get a call saying they ran into some issues with calipers and they needed to replace all of them. Then I get a call saying the ABS module needs replacement. This is on a Honda Odyseey that had absolutely no prior issues and under 65k miles. Total was $4200 and they worked with me on price to get it down to $3800. I tried to take it elsewhere and they said it wasnt drivable and I'd have to get a waiver and a tow truck. It had absolutely no symptoms of anything wrong before I took it in. Three weeks and $3800 later, my brakes are squeaky. They wouldn't provide video or photos as they said "it's so far inside the car you can't see it" I'm sure I'll get an automated response about being sorry about my experience and an email to contact but nothing will come of this. Go anywhere else. EDIT Dec 2025: Ronnie got in touch with me and he looked at my van. They gave me a check for almost $1k for the trouble and then serviced it and realized the new brakes had a manufacturer defect. They replaced them again for no cost.

I went there to get the battery tested because my car was starting slowly. These guys are really friendly and eager to assist you solve the issue. After I told him what was wrong, the man completed the paperwork right away and went inside to get this looked at. I learned after 20 minutes that the battery is fine, but it needs to be charged, which will set me back $69. Hearing the fee stunned me, so I asked them to return the key. I'll figure out another method to charge for this and get it fixed. Five star for their friendliness and I wish if I could give zero rate for the overpriced for this battery charge that’s ridiculous wherein AutoZone does that with no cost.

What happened to honest service? I have been going to Precision tune Cary for 15+ years and they have always been trustworthy. Not sure what changed. Went in July to get my oil changed and the tech advised there were a couple of items that needed to be repaired (transmission pan gasket was looking and it appeared that there was coolant spraying) - Quote of $1500. I wanted a 2nd opinion and went to Hendrick Dodge and they confirmed that there was no leak on the transmission pan (it was just dark due to the age) and no coolant leak (it could have just been an overspray when filling it and there was no odor). I called Jonathan the manager to let him know my findings and advised him that I was disappointed in their techs. Requested a call back and never did hear back from him. They seem to be taking advantage of people and wrongly advising customers that they require service when they truly don't. I told Jonathan that Precision Tune techs should start taking videos to show their findings so the customer can actually view the issue. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Glad my daughter didn't take the car in for an oil change since she may have just paid for the repairs since she would be concerned for her safety.

If I could give this location 0 stars I would. I took my vehicle there yesterday to get the the heating fixed. Ended up paying 800+. The problem -- my car was damaged. The screen on my display was cracked. I noticed it immediately when I got in my vehicle. The service tech, Dominic, spoke with the district managers, Tony and Vince. They concluded that since they saw some dust in the crack, it must have been there a long time. Seriously, I can't make this stuff up. It's a hairline fracture. There's no dust build up in the break. I understand mistakes happen. Just own it and make it right. Most reputable businesses would do so. But not this place. I reached out to the customer service advocate as well. No response. CONSUMERS BEWARE. STAY AWAY! I'll update my review later so you all can see the "dust buildup."

I am so grateful for the service I received at Precision Tune Auto Care in Cary. After being turned away by other places that were technically still open—but claimed their inspection person had already left—I called Precision Tune in CARY and spoke with Jonathan. I explained that I was about 20 minutes away and that they were closing in 30 minutes, and Jonathan could not have been kinder or more accommodating. I drove across town, arrived shortly before closing, and was treated with nothing but professionalism and hospitality. My car was pulled in right away, and I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Jonathan made me feel welcomed and valued, not rushed or like an inconvenience. That kind of service is rare, and it truly stood out. They even made sure I was finished before they closed, which says a lot about how they treat their customers. Because of Jonathan and the team, I will absolutely return and recommend Precision Tune Auto Care at 421 Colonades Way in Cary to anyone needing service.

Girlies come here if you want good, respectful service. As a girl with no knowledge about cars, I felt it was easy to ask questions and talk with the front desk about the issues without feeling rushed or Uncomfortable. I have come here for 3 years due to the amazing service and reasonable prices. Special shout out to Johnathan thornberg at the front desk who was extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful, offering discounts where he could for my most recent issue. And the mechanics are great ! Never had any issue they couldn’t fix and always done right the first time. Keep up the good work :) !

My 2006 Lexus GS was smoking and making a whirring noise one morning. Took it to Precision auto care in Cary, Waverly and $192 (diagnostic charge) later told me they did a compression test and my "engine is blown". Shocked by the news, I had AAA bring it to Lexus in Raleigh. They look it over and say "not blown, you just need an alternator and a belt." Bewildered we went back to Precision to talk with the manager who says, "I stand by my mechanic, your engine is blown". Now who do you believe? In the meantime I am driving it like I always have without a problem. Going to give the car to our son with six kids but want to make sure of the safety of the car. So we call Mike S. back at Lexus who gets the mechanic (who is a class 1-A, apparently the best type of mechanic) on the phone who tells my husband that he THOROUGHLY went through the car and it is fine. So far have driven the car 200 miles without issue. Thank goodness. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THE PRECISION IN CARY WAVERLY. BEWARE 1/21/2026 Precision did reach out to me and a lovely man named Ronnie and customer service is sending me the check for the diagnostic fee since it was inappropriately charged.
