Overall very disappointed in my experience at Prospect auto Mart. I took my car in because it was leaking radiator fluid and my engine was overheating, they told me it was a crack in my radiator, so they replaced it. Following this, I was driving back from Madison, Wisconsin and noticed that my car was again overheating after having my radiator replaced. I took it back, they told me it was a missing hose clamp, so they replaced it. Again my engine overheated. I took it back to the shop (should have learned my lesson at this point), And he told me it was a leaking hose, which he fixed. Again my radiator fluid leaked out and my engine start overheating. $500 and 6 trips to this guy’s place later and I’m still in the exact same position that I was before I brought it in to him. At this point, I have given up and will be taking my car somewhere else. This has been a very frustrating experience. I never felt I was given the time of day or respected as a customer at this place. I urge you to consider taking your vehicle somewhere else

Honest. Professional. Courteous. Reliable. Reasonable. These are all words to describe Neal & his mechanics at Prospect Auto Mart. They have serviced my vehicles for years. I continue to return because of the excellent service. Recently, they serviced my Subaru for a transmission problem. The dealer had given me an estimate of $8,995.00 to replace & repair the transmission. I had the car towed to Prospect Auto Mart. They fixed the problem for $244.00! No kidding!!! Once again, Neal & his fantastic mechanic's have reminded me why I take my vehicles to them for servicing!!! I won't go anywhere else!

I can't say enough good things about this business! Every time I go in, all of the staff are VERY PROFESSIONAL and GO ABOVE AND BEYOND to take care of me and my vehicles. Neal, the owner, is honest, genuine, and down-to-earth. He is prompt to tell you what is going on with your vehicle and is very reasonable with prices! Never go to these people they r scam artists. I bought a impala from them a month later timing chain went out so paid them $1200 to fix it. 5 months later timing chain blows apart and destroyed my entire engine last week and call him he's trying to act like he never worked on the car or even sold it to us and had him put brakes and rotars and calipers on are other car about the same time 5 months ago and just took it today to put brakes on it and found out everything under there is factory that he charged us for all that and never did any of the work only changed the brakes

ok they were not having a good day they were short handed and very busy like most Mondays and here I come with my car on a tow truck with 2 flat tires what does he say? We'll get to it as soon as we can and they did while I waited they fixed my tires and I was on my way. that's how they are always nice and do great work no matter what you have going on.

Unfortunately after owning this car and learning more as I work on it I have to lower my rating. Although my initial assessment of being treated with great care and respect by the guys over there, the single most glaring issue that I can only place on this place is that BOTH of my rear axle nuts (to dumb it down, they keep the wheels attached to the car through the bearing) were the wrong part, improperly installed, and I suspect not even torqued properly. Prospect installed a new OEM differential in my car prior to me buying the car which would have required them to remove and reinstall these nuts. This required me to replace one of my rear bearings and swap the other one. Not the worst thing in the world - but honestly coming from a shop that seems to specialize in Miata’s it is insane something this important was looked over. Guys! You have to punch the axle nuts into the notch in the axle FAR. One or two hits with a ball hammer is not enough! Original review below Sold me a Miata, and it’s great. Clearly rebuilt very well with a lot of care to minor details. Jim is very friendly, and went to buy 2 cars and was able to negotiate a great price for the second. Super fast service and responses all around. Walked in the day after texting them and walked out with 2 cars. There’s minor issues with the car - already had to replace clutch cylinders and do some maintenance items, but overall, the work that prospect did - in my case, replacing differential, top, brakes, and tires, was 💯. Will go here again.

Just don’t. I pulled onto their lot to look at a Honda. After I looked around the vehicle I opened the driver door, which was unlocked. I was standing outside the car looking at the broken off hood release when the alarm went off. I can only assume the people inside the business set it off, otherwise it would have sounded when the door was opened. A man came out and told me, “No pullin on door handles! We got keys inside. People usually come inside first and don’t just go on the lot. “ I told him the car was unlocked. He said they must have left it unlocked last night. Ok, not my problem. I grew up around a car dealership and never knew you couldn’t walk a lot and look at cars. Maybe put up a sign or something. I told him I was no longer interested in doing business with the establishment. He said he wasn’t trying to be rude. I told him I didn’t come there to be chastised and that he just lost a sale. I promptly left. I was interested in several of the cars they had and am ready to buy. However, being treated like a thieving child ended any chance I’ll ever do business there. Do yourself a big favor and steer clear of the place. I probably just avoided buying a big headache.
