After calling quite a few other tow companies that were closer to my location, I finally reached Tim at Rice's Towing and although he couldn't help me right away, he got me in touch with Darrell who came to my rescue in less than 30 minutes! He was so polite and understanding and so very informative. I would absolutely recommend this service to anyone in the Asheville area.

When my car broke down on I-40 I called Rice's towing and recovery because they were the only 24 hour service that I was able to find on google and it was after 5pm. Tim wasted no time getting to my location and was kind and courteous for the duration of the trip back to the shop. Once I arrived at the shop the gentleman working on a car, stopped what he was doing and quickly diagnosed my problem. The staff made the best of a stressful situation and were kind enough to let me keep the car on the lot without charge until I figured out what I was going to do with it. Everyone was very friendly and understanding. The towing rate is also very reasonable.

I googled and found that Tim had high reviews. I made the call, he answered, he picked up my car that very morning. Got it safe and sound to my destination, which was another state, called me and told me who my contact was and who had the keys. Perfect, smooth transaction. If you want someone to make your car worse use them. Waited over 2 hours when they said they were otw . No call or anything. Then they forced my car into neutral. When they were unloading it back home. Again I waited for over 2 hours to return my car with no courtesy. I really don't think he even checked my car. And therr was an open paperclip on the positive post of my battery. Very unprofessional. Might be good with older cars but doesn't know a thing about the newer cars. But on the bright side I thank got a very good flashlight out of the fiasco. They might not charge much but your car isn't safe with them.

This is my second time getting a tow for Rice's and once again I am impressed by the speed and professionalism. My car broke down in the middle of the road so I called Rice's and got Tim, he said he could get to my location as about 30 minutes which was perfectly reasonable ,but once I told him I was stuck in the road he got there in 10 minutes. Probably the fastest tow I've ever gotten. Tim was very friendly and professional. I would recommend Rice's Towing & Recovery Inc over any towing company in Asheville. Reasonable prices and fast service every time.

Tim was very nice as well as very professional. When I first called.him, he was in the middle of serving another customer. He said that he would call me back as soon as he finished. This is exactly what he did. He also called me after he delivered my van to the dealership. It was so refreshing to have someone keep their word and promptly return a customer’s phone call. Hopefully, it will be a while before I need to have my van towed anywhere again but I will definitely use Rice’s Towing .

Tim at Rice's towing was awesome! I was on the side of 240 with a seized caliper and called him up for a tow after the first place I tried did not pick up. He said he could be there in 45 minutes and then he showed up in 30 - when does that ever happen? He was also super nice. He didn't treat me any differently despite having out of state tags and the rate he charged was extremely reasonable. I've paid 2.5x that amount before for much slower and less friendly service. He gave me a ride to the shop and was an easy going conversationalist. I learned on the way that Rice's is a family business that's been around since 1944, which I think is both cool and impressive. I've never had a positive experience getting a tow before and so I was pretty shocked at how smoothly everything went and what a decent mood I was in after leaving the shop. 10/10 would recommend their towing service to anyone in AVL. I'm actually thankful that the first company didn't pick up the phone!

Had an excellent expirience, I popped my tire very late was just getting dark had my 2 year old nice with me. They said it would be a 4 hour wait but once they heard I was alone and was gonna be walking they were there in 15 minutes. Couldn't have been any more nice or professional then they were. I'm bad with names but I believe the man who helped me was named Tim. He was amazing and very kind. Very reasonable price, will definitely be calling them again.

Rice's towing was fantastic. I needed to have my vehicle towed to the shop for repair work. I called in the morning, he answered promptly, provided a simple estimate and let me know his best case scenario timeline as far as when he could pick it up (which was only about an hour after I called). He called me back when he was on his way and gave me an updated time about when he'd be arriving, and showed up right on time. He was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Its always good to work with someone who clearly knows what he's doing. The cost was exactly what he estimated, which was about 25% less than what I was expecting to pay. Then he was able to run my card from his truck, and we were on our way. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I recently had my car repaired at Rice's towing. They were able to get my car in for an appt on short notice, and considering everything that needed to be done, it only took 2 days. At other places, they kept my car for over a week, cost more, and didn't even fix the problem-which is how I ended up here. Also, as a woman, they made me feel comfortable and taken care of. They picked up the vehicle the same day I contacted them and had the motor replaced quickly. The cost was approximately half of what the Ford dealer quoted me. Though it's hard to single out any one individual, kudos go to Travis and Melinda (with whom I had most contacts). My vehicle looked like new when I got it back! I’m new in town and not used to the mountain roads, so I got my car stuck—like crazy—in a very sharp and narrow turn that landed me in a ravine. I tried calling two places that I found on Google, but they were both scams!! DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO SOMEONE BEFORE THEY COME OUT! I didn’t know these scams like this existed! But they take advantage of someone who is in a panic and is in a crisis. I called a friend, who is a local, and he gave me Rice’s Towing phone number. I could tell right away that it was a legit company and that I was talking to a real person. They didn’t ask for my credit card info until after they pulled my car out. The person who assisted me was so friendly and down to earth. He comforted me and made me feel like everything was going to be okay. He resorted faith in Asheville. I am so grateful for this wonderful company. They were a godsend in my time of need.

Visiting Asheville from Florida…6 hours away from a big snow storm… went to get coffee, came back to car after 21 minutes and the bumper was torn off.. called 2 other companies (we needed a place to hold the car for transport back to Florida) and one said to call Darrell… I’m so glad I did! Darrell was AWESOME. Picked us up within 30 minutes, loaded the car in the middle of downtown Asheville, took us back to lot, got us settled somewhere out of the cold to wait for rent a car to pick us up. Melinda was so kind in the office making sure we were ok. I can’t say enough great things about them….
