Roland and the guys at the shop are the best!!! They just did an AC repair for me today and even though they are booked until the 11th of June because of their stellar reputation....he still got me in same day and gave me a super great deal on the repair and labor! I recommend this repair shop to anyone and everyone who wants a mechanic that's gonna do a 5 star job and do so in a more than timely manner! His office staff are very professional and effective as well! Amanda is right there running the show and does one heck of a great job!!!!

Roland has always been a blessing. He's fair on pricing, and will be honest telling you what you do or do not need. He's very thorough with his work, making sure you are safe while out on the highway. Amanda makes it such a pleasure to call, to visit while waiting in lobby, and to pay the bill.

My dad started getting his cars fixed at Smokey Mountain Auto when I was a kid, and I've been going since I've had cars. So 22 years and counting. Roland is very thorough and honest. I have been to other mechanics when living in other states and I ended up coming back to Asheville anytime I needed service. It does take a few weeks to get in but the wait is worth getting quality work done and not being over charged. Highly recommend!

I think the reviews speak for themselves but I want to add what a lifesaver Roland and his team were for us. We hit road debrie on the highway at 5am it was 2 batteries that exploded acid all over the bottom of the car and ripped up the shroud. We weren't sure what to do towing was going to be $750 and we wouldn't be able to attend the important funeral we were headed to. We called around when the shops opened and everyone was busy. Roland's team was also very busy but they made time to check things out. They made some on the spot repairs that would allow us to safely complete our trip and make it to the funeral. They Kind hearted good people

The people here are honest and welcoming. Roland and James are awesome. My partner and I needed help with our car while on a road trip from Minnesota. These guys resolved the issue, treated us very well, and charged us very fairly. Also, the front desk/waiting area has a comfortable vibe. Maybe it was all the hours spent driving, but I swear that part of me wanted to *be* at this auto shop, like some people might want to be at the Cheers bar. Roland chatted with us and offered us coffee and donuts. In the short time we were there, I noticed locals would wander in to chat or help themselves to donuts while they completed some car-related errand at a calm, cheerful pace. One local pointed out some of the art on the wall -- intricate bead-murals featuring cars in pastoral settings -- saying that his wife made them as a labor of love.

My car overheated on the highway so I pulled into the closest mechanic on google. The receptionist said they were booked until September, so I asked if they knew anyone nearby who might be able to look at it because I was stranded and needed to get home to St. Louis. She said “Oh honey, I’ll see what we can do” and then went in back to talk to Roland. They diagnosed me, bought me a new part, and installed it within only a few hours. Very clear communication and fair pricing. The experience could not have gone any better (I mean obviously it would have been better not happening at all but you know what I mean). I don’t want to send any more business to this place because they’re clearly backed up as is, but I want to thank them for their kindness and courtesy.

Roland in particular look out for me when everywhere else tried to take advantage, he really did right by me. I was traveling and 5 hours away from home, on a Friday, with a check engine light. Yikes! I’m sure they already had a full schedule, but these folks squeezed me in and treated me like family. Like they would hope to be treated if they had car trouble away from home. Roland and the rest of the team were great, quickly diagnosed the problem, got the parts and fixed it. I was in and out and on my way in short order. I highly recommend them.

Excellent auto repair shop, with heart! I was from out of town, traveling thru the area late at night when my car experienced trouble and overheated. Thankfully, I was near an exit with a hotel, and I began looking for a mechanic. This shop was amazingly near the hotel, so I called them as soon as they opened up. Even though they were booked out a month, they fit me in and had me back on the road that same day.They did excellent work at a reasonable price, and everyone there was so kind!
