While putting air in my 17 year old’s tire at the local Wawa, I noticed a bubble on her tire sidewall. Panic immediately ensued and I drove straight to the nearest tire shop that appeared open at 5:30pm on a Friday afternoon… I’m not sure if it was the panic on my face or the kindness of their hearts, but they had a tire delivered immediately and installed so she could drive her car safely. I cannot thank them enough for helping us out (on a Friday afternoon, 30 min from closing)!!! Thank you!!!

I had an outstanding experience at University Tire and Auto! They were incredibly thorough with my 2004 Tacoma, performing a full check-up and identifying critical frame repairs that most shops would’ve overlooked. Their honesty and attention to detail are unmatched. Cody was absolutely amazing, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about getting my truck in top shape. The guys at the Airport road location came highly recommend by 2 friends. Today I took a chance and called to see if I could get a safety inspection done. I spoke to Cody C and he told me to come on in. I waited while it was done and like Cody said, it took about 45 min. He was so friendly, not only with me, but with all the customers coming and going. I just moved here from the West Coast and it’s so refreshing as a single woman, not to feel intimidated in a service shop environment. It was actually a very pleasant experience. Thanks Cody, I’ll definitely be back!

Sloppy work. See pictures below. Transmission and coolant were leaking and they didn’t clean or wipe any of it up. Transmission pan is cover in transmission fluid. Also gave me three different prices. Went in at $1300 left paying $1700. I even asked if they needed to do the other work (change trans filters) I was told no. Then next day as they are almost done told me I had to do it and it would be more money. Still they charged me $700 for a filter change and flush. They will not work with you on anything. All parts they get is more than doubled to the customer. I was told they would put a special fluid in I had for transmission they told me yes. When I picked up they told me they arent allowed to. It’s pretty much “your buddies shop” but charges you twice what it should be. Broke down so I had no choice. If you have a choice go elsewhere. If you don’t they’ll get it done but your pockets will hurt and the job won’t be pretty. Two star because I do believe the work was complete. But they didn’t clean up at all and customer service was lacking. Last star taken because pricing not what I was originally told and I basically forced to accept the new cost.

Update- I see that they could not locate me in their database. This was listed under my spouse. Same last name. I have gone previously for basic tire replacement in the past- which have been fine, so I would recommend them for that basic service. I took my car in for a routine inspection in the past and they did NOT initially pass my car for inspection because of my wiper blades, which honestly, seemed fine. They quoted me about $100 to replace wiper blades. Admittedly, I have a foreign car, yet nearly $100 for wiper blades?! At that point, I picked up my car, went to the local auto repair store, bought wiper blades for about $30, had the sale associate help me for FREE to install them, and got my car inspected for the $20 standard rate, which did ultimately pass inspection with the new wiper blades. Obviously, I do not trust University Tire and Auto, and will not return. If they had quoted me something more reasonable, I would have been happy to have them replace the wiper blades (I respect their time), yet that seemed like an unreasonable fee for such a quick and easy repair, and eroded my trust.

This location could not find anything wrong with My SUV so they tore my windshield wipers I guess for commission those blades were recently replaced. I went on and paid because they would’ve slapped the rejection sticker on my car, but this is being reported. It is obvious that they were purposely torn.

The service was great . I was told the truth about my needs and he inform me what was the best deal and sold me the best tires for my car. I left the car and they drove me home and the guy who drove me home was idefriendly and drove safely and was glad to do it because I could tell by the way we talked and he enjoyed his job..Great service and will be getting my service there. I brought my car in for tire installation and balancing with new tires I provided, along with an alignment. After picking the car up, it had a steering wheel shake and vibration, and the alignment did not appear to have been corrected (the steering wheel was still tilted). I had to drive out of town for the holidays with the car like this and ended up paying another shop to fix the vibration issue. They confirmed the tires were not properly balanced, and once corrected the car drove smoothly again. I am fairly dissappointed by the work done to my car and I feel like I just wasted $400 here.

I brought my car in for an oil change and wanted to use their advertised shuttle service so I can go to work. The front desk person suggested staying as they were slow that morning and should only take 45min. They finished just over an hour and they suggested replacing the engine air filter. They said it take should take no time at all as they just have to order the part nearby. 45 minutes later the part still hasn't arrived so I've decided to forego the filter so I can get to work. Naturally the part arrived as I paid and was about to leave. After getting into my car, the courtesy sticker was on the floor and had no adhesive on it. They also recommended the next oil change to be in 3000 miles, which seems too frequent for full synthetic oil. They also didn't reset the maintenance indicator on the dashboard. These are minor things, but the lack in effort on these details and the extended wait time made me very disappointed in this service. I should've just gone to airport auto who has shuttles available.

Victor at University Tire is an angel on earth! I was driving from NC to MD with a packed car because I was moving home. I got a flat tire. My spare was not accessible because my car was packed so full. Victor immediately said he’d send a tow truck to pick me up. But unfortunately, he had to order my replacement tire. So I had to spend the night. But not to worry! He would keep my car safe overnight AND drive me to a local hotel for the night! The hotel was walking distance to great restaurants. Within an hour, I was in a clean safe hotel room and soon eating a fabulous dinner at a great restaurant. I know I could feel awful at the unexpected stop in my trip. But instead, I felt blessed to have called Victor! He took care of me and my car with such care & professionalism. I felt blessed I didn’t have an accident on the road. And that I called Victor at University Tire! He even picked me up at the hotel the next morning when my car was ready. So a terrible delay in my trip turned into an opportunity to meet Victor & the kind people at University Tire. Thank you so much. You didn’t just take care of my car. You took care of me. Words cannot express my gratitude. Bless you all!

highly recommend University Tire and Auto Center on Airport Road. In Charlottesville the service was excellent and the professionalism was top-notch. They completed the work quickly and paid great attention to detail. A truly positive experience especially Mr Victor he was very helpful through the whole ordeal with the issue with my vehicle I am very happy with this mechanic shop I will recommend it to everyone that has vehicle mechanical issues and service you guys made it very stressful situation into and easy one Great job everybody that was involved and getting my vehicle fix and ready for me to take it on the road again

I came to this shop around 9/25/2025 to get new tires put on and a frontend alinment, do to my old tire tread wearing uneven. It's now 2/10/26 and my tires are wearing uneven the same way. I ask if they would flip the tires around and do a front end alinment again, they said no that would be mounting used tires and that there alinment machine is broke. They recommend at shop near by and I ask if they where going to cover they alinment and they said no, anything could have happened in that time. So now im out 2 new tire and a alinment. That a lot of money for me so I'm definitely going to avoid this place in the future.
